Let me amend my title: Chavez is INCREDIBLE! What he is saying is not funny now, but deadly serious, and the most strikingly powerful indictment of the actions of this gov't I have ever heard on msm.

(paraphrasing) "Should Venezuela obtain a permanent seat on the Security Council, we will not only be the voice of the people of Venezueala, but of all the people's of the world."

He's bringing up Bushista's protection of the terrorist Carrillas,(sp?) and the hypocrisy of being accused by them of harboring terrorists.

Must get a transcript for this speech because the Mockingbirds will shred or ignore it.

Record this if possible. Transcripts of stuff like this tend to get 'edited.'

What a fascinating statement.
In spite of what a Bushie may be brainwashed to believe about Chavez, don't you think it would make them pause to say "Holy shit...a leader of another country is saying this about a U.S. president. Did you hear the speech? I think the things Chavez said and the way he said them, will resonate with many people, especially working folks who are most definitely waking up to the elitist policies of Boosh.

That presumes they heard the speech. After it's spun, it will be unrecognizable.

Malveaux: "WH thinks Chavez remarks not worth addressing."

Right. Chavez is beneath their radar. That's why they keep trying to get rid of him.

Bolton: "If only the people of Venezuela enjoyed the same freedom of speech as Chavez had today."

Right. And just as many anti-war folks here in the US got their say on teevee before the war on Iraq as people who supported it.

Quote:
Link to full text in English please?

I'll post it as soon as I can find one.

on edit: I was transcribing as accurately as possible as the speech was taking place. I was not getting it from a transcript. Some of the quotes are paraphrasing, but I tried to be as faithful as possible to what Chavez was saying. I will correct mistakes of mine when the full transcript comes out, but I will also point out mistakes in "official" versions, as I see them.

Edited by: sunny at: 9/20/06 11:20 am
