You could spend some time over at the offical website, deadnetcentral.com/ , and read the opinions that the overwhelming majority of the regular posters there have of Ann Coulter. The insults get a bit too graphic for my taste, sometimes. But all in all, it couldn't happen to a more appropriate target than a venomous poison-pen below-the-belt rabbit puncher like Her Nibs.

And in the Political Discussions folder, any semblance of a Bushoid Right Wing Deadhead cohort has long since yielded the forum to a motley collection of liberals, libertarians, anarchists, socialists, freethinkers, independents, and apostate Republicans united in their loathing for the current administration.

Not that they were all that strong of a presence in the first place. In fact, I've put out repeated appeals for Bushite Deadheads to show up. Sadly, with no success...without any clay pigeons, it's not nearly as much fun to shoot skeet.

Ironic, given that Bush is president and his party controls both houses of Congress, you'd think there would be some fiercely triumphant Bush Republican voices willing to carry the standard of their leader. Instead, the fate of the Bush crowd on Deadnet resembles the aftermath of Tarleton's cavalry charge into Cowpens... these days, there are couple of token ride-bys by Redcoats and Tories, every now and then. But they clam up real quick when confronted with counterpoint.

The DNC index is searchable through a button, and it works much better than the ezboard search on this site, although for some reason it doesn't go back more than a few months, these days. Throw in a few terms, like "Coulter" or "Bush", and you'll get some idea of the prevailing political mood over there.

I should know, I've been a regular there for years. There's some good historical journalism in there, including lotsa links to stories that were underplayed- if not outright suppressed- by the Big Media outlets. The real action is found in Archive 1. Upon review, I admit to a bit of pride about our collective forum over there. Much of it was really ahead of the curve, particularly in regard to the Iraq invasion. And the Patriot Act, and the Padilla case, and Guantanamo...a lot of comments that put the lie to the idea that everybody in the U.S. was being fooled. In fact, we were way over the heads of the highly paid pundit staff at the major news organizations. Worthy of archiving, for those with a bit of spare storage space ;^) quadsucker.com/

Edited by: robertdreed at: 6/27/06 11:15 pm
