Re: Johnnie Howard a nazi sympathizer?

Probably, but then again he's probably too gutless to even face that in himself.<br><br>That decency thing just blows me away.<br><br>Like some lady on the telly or radio talking to him in Perth the other day...<br><br>"I liked everything you have done and stuff up till now but I don't like those Industrial Relations laws..."<br><br>I wanted to scream with frustration at that comment.<br><br>I genuinely thought the reason he got reelcted was short sighted self interest (something the little 4 eyebrowed mr sheen wannabe has in spades). Everyone in the suburbs is really up against it. Most people are paying huge mortgages with interest rates not that high...<br><br>Most people are also effectively one or two paychecks from the street. With petrol prices skyrocketing a half a percent increase in interest rates could cost many people their homes.<br><br>The trauma of that recession we had to have is still in people's minds I think. (Remeber Interest rates will rise under labour?)<br><br>And I actually had someone once tell me they voted for Howard because of the asylum seeker issue.<br><br>They genuinely thought he was doing the right thing by locking up potential terrorists coming to Aussie in leaky wooden boats to fly planes into the rialto or something.<br><br>I could see my opinion of this person plummeting as they spoke. I couldn't believe someone could think so uncritically.<br><br>Who needs Diebold when you can play off fear and incalculable stupidity.<br><br>But that brings up why I loathe the little turd.<br><br>His cowardice is infectious. The debate on all issues in Australia is one clothed in the regalia of fear and the inability to confront and deal with it.<br><br>He is a chookshit coward and unfortunately his personality is influencing things in Australia far too much.<br><br>Thats it for that rant. <p></p><i></i>

who needs diebold

nicely put again, Joe.<br><br>but I see it more as a symbiotic relationship.<br><br>when the screws are turned, everybody responds to protect their own arses.<br>you see, that's Icky's reptilian genes or as Castaneda put it 'they gave us their minds'.<br><br>and the lack of critical thinking, I find simply stunning. quite literally.<br><br>quite funny and apt re: Packer<br><br><br> <p></p><i></i>

Or even 10 goals down and absolutely no chance of winning.<br><br>Thats when the hard question gets asked. Thats when you have to be prepared to suffer so you and your teammates can achieve what you set out to do. (Play with a little honour and dignity) Little Johnnie does not get that biit. I may be missing the point here somewhat but what's so strange about the royal family being descended from reptiles? Aren't we all?

Seminal Site for Purported Genealogy Connections

Postby Lord Balto » Sun Jul 29, 2007 10:20 pm

Take a look at this site if you are interested in purported descendants of royal houses:

http://fabpedigree.com/

The data is all from the internet and unattested but interesting nonetheless, and will give you an idea just how complex this type of thing can get.

DNA Timescales

Postby Lord Balto » Fri Sep 28, 2007 9:18 pm

As for some of the nonsense I've run into here about DNA time scales:

Quoting Wikipedia on DNA is silly. In fact, quoting Wikipedia on anything is silly. The fact is my own female Haplogroup is W, which goes back to East Africa 20,000 years ago. "Eve" goes back more than 100,000 years. My Y Haplogroup is E3b1c1, which goes back to the Eastern Mediterranean (ancient Canaan) about 30,000 years ago. The oldest surviving Y Haplogroup is A, which goes back 60,000. And these figures are all based on humans living today. It doesn't mean we don't have ancestors that went back millions of years before this particular set of mutations.

As for royal ancestors, the only thing I have so far is some Levite ancestors, who supposedly go back to Levi, the brother of Joseph (1420-1365 BC) who may or may not have been a real person. My High Resolution Native Population Match has me as Csango (51.94) from eastern Rumania after Hungarian Ashkenazi (45.08). The Csango claim descent from one of the sons of Attila the Hun, who occupied Hungary in the early centuries AD.
