Initiated into the Illuminati (?)

Postby johnny nemo » Wed Jun 07, 2006 4:04 pm

My granfather was a 33rd Degree Mason.
I have nothing to do with them, but was always intrigued by it.
He would never say anything about it, other than to urge me to join the Lodge, which I never did.

I found an account of someone being initiated into the 33rd Degree of Freemasonry(which is supposed to be the 1st of the Illuminati Degrees, if you are chosen) from a book called "The Deadly Deception" by Jim Shaw.
It might be complete bullsh*t, but there are some interesting tidbits in it.

Whole story here

Inside [the Temple] is elegance: polished marble, exotic wood, gold and statuary. There are offices, a library, dining room, kitchen, Council Room, "Temple Room" and a large meeting room. This room is like a luxurious theater, rather elegantly furnished and decorated.

The ceiling is dark blue, with lights set into it to give the appearance of stars. These lights can even be made to "twinkle" like stars in the sky. There is a stage, well-equipped, and it is all very nicely done. But the thing that is most noticeable is the way the walls are decorated with serpents. There are all kinds; some very long and large. Many of the Scottish Rite degrees include the representation of serpents and I recognized them among those decorating the walls.

It was all most impressive and gave me a strange mixture of the sensations of being in a temple and in a tomb - something sacred but threatening.I saw busts of outstanding men of the Rite including two of Albert Pike, who is buried there in the wall.

INTERVIEWED BY THE SUPREME COUNCIL
The first day was devoted to registration, briefings and interviews. We were called into one of the offices, one at a time, and interviewed by three members of the Supreme Council.

When my turn came I was ushered into the office and seated. The very first question I was asked was, "Of what religion are you?" Not long before this I would have answered with something like, "I believe the Ancient Mysteries, the 'Old Religion,' and I believe in reincarnation." However, without thinking at all about how to answer, I found myself saying, "I am a Christian."

Then, to my surprise and theirs, I asked them, "Are you men born again?" The man in charge quickly stopped me by saying, "We're not here to talk about that - we are here to ask you questions."

After they sent me back out I sat down and thought about it. When the next man came out, I asked him, "Did they ask you if you are a Christian?" He said, "Yes, they did."

"What did you tell them?" I asked, and he replied, "I told them 'Hell no, and I never intend to be!'"

Then he said a strange thing to me,"They said I'm going higher," and he left through a different door, looking pleased.

BECOMING A SOVEREIGN GRAND INSPECTOR GENERAL
The second day was the day of the actual initiation, held in the theater-like meeting room. Those of us who were receiving the degree were seated and the ceremony was "exemplified" (acted out in full costume) before us, in the same way that we had performed the lesser degrees of the Scottish Rite all those years. The parts in the exemplification were played by men of the 33rd Degree.

The representative candidate was dressed in black trousers, barefooted, bareheaded and draped in a long, black robe that reminded me of a very long, black raincoat. He had a black cable tow around his neck but was not hoodwinked. During the initiation he was led around the stage, conducted by two men with swords, as the degree was performed for us.

Instructions and signs were given. Upon the altar were four "holy books" (the Bible, the Koran, the Book of the Law and the Hindu Scriptures). At one point the "candidate" was told to kiss the book "of your religion" and, representing us all, he leaned forward and did so. I remembered the First Degree initiation, when I was told to kiss the Bible, and at that moment something came full cycle. It was the final such kiss to be a part of my life.

WINE IN A HUMAN SKULL
When it was time for the final obligation we all stood and repeated the oath with the representative candidate, administered by the Sovereign Grand Inspector General. We then swore true allegiance to the Supreme Council of the 33rd Degree, above all other allegiances, and swore never to recognize any other brother as being a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry unless he also recognizes the Supreme authority of "this Supreme Council".

One of the Conductors then handed the "candidate" a human skull, upside down, with wine in it. "May this wine I now drink become a deadly poison to me, as the Hemlock juice drunk by Socrates, should I ever knowingly or willfully violate the same" (the oath).
He then drank the wine.

A skeleton (one of the brothers dressed like one - he looked very convincing) then stepped out of the shadows and threw his arms around the "candidate." Then he (and we) continued the sealing of the obligation by saying, "And may these cold arms forever encircle me should I ever knowingly or willfully violate the same."

The Sovereign Grand Commander closed the meeting of the Supreme Council "with the Mystic Number," striking with his sword five, three, one and then two times. After the closing prayer, we all said "amen, amen, amen," and it was over.

PROMINENT MEN TOOK PART
There were some extremely prominent men there that day, including a Scandinavian King, two former presidents of the United States, an internationally prominent evangelist, two other internationally prominent clergymen, and a very high official of the federal government, the one who actually presented me with the certificate of the 33rd Degree. Some made only brief appearances; others stayed much longer. However, they didn't do much mixing or socializing with us, except for those whom they already knew. Even though these celebrities weren't extremely "brotherly," it was still quite an experience for me just to be associated with them. It was easily the largest gathering of such prominent and influential men of which I have ever been a part.

I think everyone here can see the implications of this, if it's true.
The thing I found most interesting was the number of times the Sovereign Grand Commander struck the sword upon the ground.
5+3+1+2=11, which is said to be an "Illuminati" number, and the 11th of Sept. has seen George Bush Senior giving speeches about a "new World Order", in addition to what his son did on Sept. 11th.

The Albert Pike thing is also extremely interesting.
That a Klansmen and former Confederate General is so important that he has a statue, two busts and is interred within the wall of the Supreme Lodge, in the nation's capitol, is quite telling.
Speaking of which, can anyone give me an accurate bio of this man?
I am up to my eyeballs in differing accounts of his life, deeds, the "letter" that is supposed to predict Three World Wars and his Illuminatists agenda, and I'm getting really frustrated trying to separate fact from fiction.

Masonry

Postby Quentin Quire » Wed Jun 07, 2006 4:17 pm

I've always been in 2 minds about the involvement of Masonry in para-politics and the like. I'd haze a guess and say that the majority of information spread about them is probably untrue but I certainlky think there is some place for Masonic involvement in world affairs.

I'd guess that Masonry is not so much the source of conspiracy's rather than a lubricating network for allowing the like-minded to have access to one another in a already conspiratorial environment.

I'm sure the average plumber, doctor or lawyer has something to gain through the mundane Masonic network whether it be getting jobs, support or favours.

Any Masonic lodge dealing with 'elite' figures such as politicians and intelligence operatives - well the level of jobs, supports and favours increases to a much grander scale. I think the P2 affair in Italy is an example of this.

The seemingly occult roots of Masonry are certainly something to explore but the majority of information seems to either come from Mason's seeking to espouse a historical and spiritual root for Masonry or from strong anti-masonic viwepoints such as those you quote above.

I've read a little about Albert Pike and I'd gather that Masons deny he played a major role in the organization as claimed - but this could be spin.

that writting is anti freemason propaganda, does this really seem to you like something someone would say in reality, after having spent more than a decade getting to the 33rd degree?

Quote:
"Of what religion are you?" 'drew, thought the same thing.

Quote:

There were some extremely prominent men there that day, including a Scandinavian King, two former presidents of the United States, an internationally prominent evangelist...I asked them, "Are you men born again?"

Whoops. I think the "internationally prominent evangelist" is supposed to be Billy Graham, if I am not mistaken.

I'd read the quote before and wasn't quite able to attribute it but Gouda's right - it's certainly from a right-wing christian fundamentalist conspiracy viewpoint.

I think David Icke 'quotes' it in one of his books and goes on to talk about Billy Graham being involved in nasty Freemasonry activities.

IMHO it's not the research material to be going on with regarding the dubious nature of Freemasons.

Stephen Knight presents far more rational - if not 'mainstream' - research and theories in his work.

Your post what somewhat cryptic so I'm not sure how to respond ...

I'm aware of the Fibonacci sequence, but not sure how it applies to Stephen Knight's book on Freemasonry, which whilst not as polemic as others certainly finds evidence for some of the dubious crimes and activities committed by Mason's. It's certainly better researched and presented than the material quoted above.

I don't agree that Masonry is 'just hocus pocus'. Nor do I believe it is the tip of the triangle when it comes to the conspiratorial hierachy. I've always viewed it with suspicion and skepticism. Personally I view it as something in-between the two poles, as I've stated above.

IMHO -- Freemasonry is a mechanism for the dissemination of conspiracy, not the source.

(And just in case I think that Knight's book on Jack the Ripper is entertaining nonsense - although Alan Moore's 'From Hell' upon which it is based is sheer genius).

The threat of a Jewish-Masonic-Communist conspiracy has been used for scare-mongering for ages. The Jews and the Communists are often defended, naturally, but fewer people want to defend the Masons. In a way they're asking for all the speculation because they're so damn cryptic and secretive - which IMO is mostly just for aesthetic purposes. I more or less agree with your take on them, QQ (though I'm not familiar with Stephen Knight's work).

Like I said, it could be bullsh*t

However, I do know from talking with a former Mason that they do strike the sword on the ground a specific number of times in these ceremonies.
He wouldn't tell me the number or anything.
The drinking of the blood from a skull is an ancient Gothic ritual practice, so it could be part of the rites.

As to what he said, about the "born again" part......he goes on to say that he was having some sort of "spiritual crisis" and turned from Freemasonry to Christianity.
So mote it be, to coin a phrase.

The thing I keep coming back to is.....everywhere I look at occultist and New Age movements, the Lodge shows up.
Albert Pike and Aleister Crowley were both very high level Masons, which begs the question.....how does a group allegedly dedicated to faith, hope and charity have a Confederate soldier known for attrocities and a Satanist magus as leaders?

And there's this interesting quote from Albert Pike.
"The Ancient Astronomers saw all the great Symbols of Masonry in the Stars. Sirius glitters in our lodges as the Blazing Star."

Morals and Dogma, page 486

Now, I know that Jeff has covered alot of this Sirius stuff before, but I don't recall if he mentioned a Masonic tie-in.
Either way, it bears repeating.

Alice Bailey, a bigwig in the New Age movement and founder of the Lucifer (now Lucis) Trust, and her husband, were both Masons.
She claimed to get spirit messages from an entity named "The Tibetan", who claimed that earth is ruled by another entity named Sanat Kumara.
(Sanat=Satan or Santa?)

This is an interesting quote from her.
"The sixth initiation is analogous to the second degree in Masonry, whilst the seventh initiation makes the Adept a Master Mason of the Brotherhood of Sirius.
Quote:
Atlantism Verses Eurasianism
Secret societies and the teachers of occult wisdom consistently trace their origins back to the very dawn of civilisation. Within Judeo-Christian culture, the secret schools speak of Adam, Seth, Moses and the Patriarchs as initiates of a divine wisdom carefully passed from one generation to the next. Other occult groups look back beyond ancient Egypt and the Mystery schools of Greece, to the lost continent of Atlantis. Still others trace their lineage to Sumeria or Babylon and the mysterious plains of Tartary.
Examining mankind’s myths, legends and arcane stories we encounter countless references to a vanished primordial civilisation. The brilliant French metaphysician Rene Guenon wrote of a great Hyperborean culture that flourished around the Arctic Circle and of its outposts Shambhala in the East and Atlantis in the West. Plato wrote of Atlantis, describing it as the heart of a great and powerful empire which, due to the indiscriminate mixing of "the sons of God" with "the children of men," suffered "violent earthquakes and floods" and "disappeared beneath the sea". According to occult tradition, Atlantis came to an end after a lengthy period of chaos and disaster brought about, in the words of Madame Blavatsky, because the "Atlantis-race became a nation of wicked magicians." Atlantis was destroyed by a conspiracy of evil magicians who had seized control of the mighty continent.
Long before the final end of Atlantis, great migrations took place to different centres of the earth. In one legend we are told of a righteous remnant journeying from the Arctic Circle to Shambhala, in the remote fastness of Central Asia. Other legends suggest Atlantean survivors established the ancient Egyptian civilisation.

do you see what i see?

now look at the link to the main page. its full of what: of articles from new dawn, among other places. full of articles by yockey, guenon, evola, etc.

www.geocities.com/integra...texts.html

this is source material for 'mystic fascism.' and whom do they count as their enemies? the "west," the "anglos," "atlantis," "egypt." all the while clinging to the "east," to tibet, shambhala, vedas, aryanism, etc.

ive been studying when i can, the "secret doctrine" and "morals and dogma," and i see two very different poles of mystical ideology.

it is curious how certain groups will lump HPB, pike, crowley , et al, together into one big group, and yet...here is a website that is a wholly unambigous advocate of a certain type of mysticism, and where are the pike references? i havent found them yet, at least not favorable ones...

Pike and the Scottish Rite

Postby Mentalgongfu » Thu Jun 08, 2006 12:51 am

A couple years ago a friend of mine was in the hospital for surgery, and while visiting I discovered a copy of Scottish Rite Journal in one of the waiting rooms. While it covered "mainstream" as opposed to secret and conspiratorial views of masonry, it provided great insight into some of the symbols and rituals.

And to praphrase what the masons maintain in some of their official publications, the meaning of masonry is all in the symbols.

At the time I discovered what is now my own copy of Scottish Rite Journal, I surfed their website quite throughly.

Here it is:

www.srmason-sj.org/web/index.htm

As I recall, there was quite a bit of intriguing information in there. The things which are admitted freely certainly got my juices flowing. You can take a tour of the Masonic headquarters in D.C., and notice the two sphinx which guard the door. One is Wisdom, with his eyes half shut, and the other is Power, with his eyes wide open.

Also, some very good excerpts from Pike in there.

As an aside, back when I first read everything there, Pike especially, it prompted me to call my girlfriend and discuss some of my thoughts, mentioning all sorts of potential flag words of parapolitical intrigue. We both heard strange clicking noises on the phone. And while I might be prone to imagine such a thing, she is quite the opposite.

I also wrote on my own blog about freemasonry, back when i was blogging more frequently, and received a weird and somewhat threatening comment. However, I am more Luddite than techno-geek and didn't know where to start to find out the IP address from which the comment was posted.

Also, FYI, down in the Rigorous Intuition Data Pages there is a link someone posted to Pike's Morals and Dogma on the internet. Apparently it is old enough to qualify for the public domain.

On a more concrete note, just what knowledge about these ancient legends was written on all those ancient Sumarian and Babylonian artifacts professionally smuggled out or Iraqi museums in the wake of the US invasion?
