I like Alex Jones, but...

I think he's wrong on this score. His "evidence" is quite refuted in the field. As much as he likes to bash Mike Ruppert, I have to side with Ruppert. There's just too much evidence to the contrary.

I don't buy it.

If peak oil is a scam, it would be the biggest decades-long conspiracy ever, involving leaders from virtually all oil-producing countries in the world, including Russia and other former and current U.S. enemies.

And, if there really is a conspiracy THAT big, well I guess we might as well go back to the blue pill.

The bottom line, in my view, is that the world is behaving as if peak oil were real. Sure, the oil companies are capitalizing and making lots of money. What's new there? That isn't nearly enough to convince me that peak oil is their secret little game.

So why is it that so many people are jumping on this oil company conspiracy bandwagon? I could hazard a few guesses, but that would probably anger some people here..... so, I leave it to you non-peak believers to try and convince me there's real merit to this argument.

Colin Campbell has (once again) revised his estimate of when the peak arrives. Yay!!!! we got an extra 3 years.

Quote:
A detailed revision of the deepwater evaluation has been made on the basis of new information covering the world’s fields, which have been modeled individually. The new evaluation suggests an Ultimate recovery of about 52 Gb with a peak of 12 Mb/d in 2011, up from 3.5 Mb/d in 2005. This has an impact on the overall model, as illustrated in the Table on Page 2, shifting the peak of All Liquids from 2007 to 2010. Anyone familiar with this forecasting will know of the many uncertainties and difficulties, but it seems best to advance step by step reporting progress as it occurs, remembering always that it is subject to change.

www.peakoil.ie/newsletters/659

According to Colin Campbell's dog Michael Ruppert, Campbell is a former very senior oil executive and not the simple little alternative thinking geologist he portays himself as.

It's a great big scam which will make oil companies a fortune and no one who produces oil is going to argue with it including Putin and Chavez.

www.countercurrents.org/p...300304.htm

Colin Campbell is both an academic and a businessman. Educated at Oxford and holding a Masters degree he has served as a geologist for Oxford University, Texaco, British Petroleum and Amoco (prior to the BP Amoco merger). He has served in executive positions with Shenandoah Oil, Amoco, Fina and was Chairman of the Nordic American Oil Company. He has served as a consultant on oil for the Bulgarian government as well as for Statoil, Mobil, Amerada, Total, Shell, Esso and for the firm Petroconsultants in Geneva. He is the Convener and Editor of the Association for the Study of Peak Oil and a Trustee of the Oil Depletion Analysis Center in London.

Since the oil companies control less than 10% of the oil still in the ground, don't see how they can be running this scam. Must be those noted global elites in Iran, S.Arabia, Russia, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Nigeria, etc.

Oh, and theres only 'four sisters' now, not seven, merger being the only way to create illusion of growing/stable reserves that stock traders need before they can blow your superannuation on perilous optimism.

1 unpublished testimony from 'insider' against the published testimony of dozens of current and past 'insiders' (peakoil.net, energybulletin.net, hubbertpeak.com)? Gee thats rigorous. [/scorn]

I'll repeat again my past challenge, how exactly have Campbell, Leherrere, Aleklett, Simmons, Magoon, Duncan, Youngquist et al managed to create and maintain this conspiracy?

And i don't want more aged quotes from rockerfellers, i want to know how exactly who are stopping v.motivated (greed if nothing else) oil geologists/companies finding and developing all this oil you cornucopians imply is out there.

This challenge is only for those interested in facts, those for whom comfortably fuzzy theories suffice may skip straight to ad hominem attack (yawn).
