By the way, in the Movie "Signs" from which the still above was taken, the kids who started wearing the tinfoil hats were right.....<br><br>I don't know if the tinfoil hats preceded the government's alleged ability to microwave and in other ways get non auditory "sound" into people's heads, but there are credible articles I've seen that say they can do just that. Tin foil hats may not help but it doesn't mean that those things don't happen.<br><br>And I always think of our good friend Puharich, controller of those who channel "the nine" who worked on various ways to get sound into people's heads without the use of the normal auditory pathways...purely to help the deaf, you understand. <br><br>Someone here may recognize this as well, but I can't remember what this revolved around. In some high profile case of parapolitical significance, someone was testifying and was in great distress and said "The CIA is in my head" or something to that extent that given the context seemed quite possible. Anyone remember that? Probably not enough info..<br><br>As for the Steorn site, it won't be long before they reveal what's up, unless it's just a total scam and they flee. I don't think it's an Xbox thing (though they use a PR company that also works with Microsoft) and I don't think it's "Lost", though there is a tantalizing clue in which a poster on the forum accidentally say "VanGraph" generators instead of VandenGraph. A google on vanGraph by another poster found a site that purports to be Romanian and refers to a wifi hotspot...however the one audio file on that site was an Irish guy talking about free energy.<br><br>There was also a symbol on that <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://vangraph.ro/">vangraph</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--> site that kinda looked like the ones players are gathering for the Lost game, but I don't think so...it didn't follow the same design for the outside border. (Shockwave is not available for Linux so I can't view the site without switching over to Windows...but I dont' think the audio file is working anymore anyway.)<br><br>So it's some kind of viral marketing or new Alternate Reality Game...I'm certain. Not because I dismiss the idea of new breakthroughs in physics...just that I dismiss that THESE GUYS made that breakthrough. Anyone who thinks "charging cell phones" is the most exciting thing about "free energy" doesn't get it, I'd say. <br><br>There was a game way back...about 10 years ago...a friend of mine did the first part that was free, but basically it was a full immersion type game. You had to solve a mystery and there were websites all over the web you had to find, but you would also get phone calls (recorded) and would use info to make your own calls and hear recorded messages. The very invitation to the game was a mystery...the email is white text on a white background that could only be seen by highlighting. DE thanks for that post, great info well nailed.<br>At the mo' I would have to agree with the consensus on here and SW that the MOST LIKELY truth is that the whole thing is a viral ad campaign.<br><br>I do tho', still hold out for the POSSIBILITY of a genuine breakthrough very soon... If not this one, then one of the many free energy devices of different types on testbeds all over the world as we speak. The continued developments such as interviews etc admittedly do make it seem less likely to be as fake as I first thought but still, the guy hasn't done much than repeated what little info is on the site/video and answered a few questions without proof...<br><br>One small specific clue implying hoax was that someone found a hidden news page on the site where it linked to a nonexistant article dated April 1st... however they've explained that away as being a cheeky webdesigner's leftover placeholder info which could well be the case... but still... suspicious.<br><br>The whole site seems geared up around the discussion board, that's pretty much al that's even there content-wise... Whether or not they believe they've genuinely discoverd something, it's undeniably a publicity stunt in that to date all they've done is stirred up controversy/discussion.<br><br>The main reason I think it's a hoax/scam/experiment NOT about faking a free energy machine per se is that the idea is 'too good to be true' in the sense that a perpetual motion machine almost synonymous with fakery. Hey Orz/ everyone

Just thought I'd revive this thread as things have moved on quite a bit since we last discussed.
What is the feeling on the board about the latest developments with regard to Steorn?

The validation and revelation schedule that was promised by Steorn and McCarthy seems to be progressing as promised, and I for one am looking forward to July, when we are due to have a public and web-wide 'hands on' exhibition in London of the device and the technology behind it.

I for one have always had a gut feeling that McCarthy was a genuine guy, and on that and a couple of other tech bases, have suspended my skepticism , and taken a wait, hope and see what occurs line.

How do we feel about these guys now?

I tentatively suggest that the viral marketing possibility is drifting further and further away from likelyhood, and referring to my previous postings, that's leaving us with fewer and fewer possibilities, other than a genuine device!

Previously stated possibilities:

1. out and out hoax
2. viral marketing
3. genuine error/naievete on their part
4. the device is real!!

Whaddya think Orz baby???... still sure this is all bogus and think the device is;

A reminder about these guys is always good.

I for one, having spent quite a few hours checking these guys out for the last year or so, think the likelihood is that they are for real, ie that the technology is real, and they are being honest and upfront about their business plan and intentions for the future.

Therefore, dont be surprised to see their sudden demise.

On a more positive note, this sounds very interesting;

I for one am looking forward to July, when we are due to have a public and web-wide 'hands on' exhibition in London of the device and the technology behind it.

Maybe i could even go along and check that out - and report back here!
