Wolfmoon Lady can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Connecticut voting is entirely the old fashioned lever system.

politicalwire.com/

"What Does Lieberman Do Now?
As we said earlier today, Sen. Joe Lieberman's decision to make contingency plans to run as an independent likely cost him the victory in today's Democratic primary. Now he has to figure out what to do.

First on the list: Chuck Todd confirms our report last week that Lieberman will shake up his campaign staff. Key requirements: "Dem campaign history is a must as the Lieberman team doesn't want any GOP consultants helping due to his need to keep the Dems he has already."

Watch for the following:

1. With such a close finish, there will be a lot of second guessing over the campaign's decision to pull back on GOTV efforts.

2. Over the next 24 hours, many national Democrats -- including Bill Clinton and Sen. Chris Dodd -- will try to convince Lieberman not to run as an independent. Any Democrat running for president in 2008 will be forced to go on the record supporting Lamont.

3. What will Republicans do? Some say the GOP may try to support Lieberman, while others insist there will be renewed efforts to bump Alan Schlesinger (R) from the ballot."

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 8/8/06 10:34 pm

Liebermann is quite likely to win as an independent. The Democrats have basically made a protest vote, and they'll reap the consequences come November.

-Sepka the Space Weasel

Time wil tell. But, I think you have to consider what a wakeup call this has been for incumbents. They never even considered the possibility that it could happen until this week. The Dem ones will probably be begging Lieberman to drop out.

4. The results of a Lamont victory will initiate an unprecedented congressional attack on the mad dog liberal bloggers/hackers that were 'solely responsible' for Joe-mentum's flat tire that will take the form of aggressive internet regulational legislation.

Maybe that was the plan all along. Leiberman's made loud and clear the sabotage he lays at the feet of the liberal internet community. His sacrifice will pave the way for more attacks on free speech by the incumbent congress.

Gotta break some eggs to make the omlette.

For now tho, buh-bye Joe; it's been real..
____________________
Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night.
