This from fdl comments

Quote:
This is a CIA job all over. Did you see fubar's post at Needlenose regarding "Trap Street?" Apparently, Plame was NOT with WINPAC, but that was a story made up by the CIA as a trap -- traps are designed to catch leakers and/or traitors. The 411 about Plame at WINPAC was a plant and was imparted to Cheney's office.

Now the more interesting question is why:

If this report is true then the following is true:

1. The CIA set up Rove/Cheney/Libbey/Bolton IN ADVANCE of Wilson's trip to Niger, knowing that (a) Wilson would NOT find Evidence of WMD and (b) that he would report his non-finding publicly;
2. It was anticipated that Rove, in his usual knee-jerk reactuion to adverse criticism or "disloyalty" would set out to destroy Wilson, and thus planted this seed about Plame, knowing Rove would go for it. When one considers that the CIA's primary business is manipulating people, it is not difficult to see how this would work.
3. Wilson writes his piece in the NYTimes and naturally, Rove et. al. immediately set out to destroy him, which they do, using the phony 411 about WINPAC which info is leaked to the ENTIRE "journalism" community. Only Novak bit (at first). TRAP SPRUNG.
CHECK.
4. Now the trap is sprung, the CIA complains to Justice, prompting Asshat's eventual recusal and the assignment of Mr. Fitzgerald.
5. CIA, knowing where ALL the bodies are buried and who on the totem pole can be squeezed and who will roll, assists Fitzgerald's office with occasional helpful tidbits.
6. Miller folds, coughs up her dirt AND the "gee I didn't know I had these" notes and BOOM: The WINPAC information therein identifies without question WHO leaked.
MATE.

And I thought this was going to be a bad week.

Here endeth the lesson: NEVER fuck with the CIA.
Marblex | 10.19.05 - 9:08 am | #

Now I think it’s an interesting post in itself.
But doesn’t it fit beautifully with CS’s theory that Wilson/Plame are in on it?
And it certainly fits with my own theory that Plame wanted out of the CIA.
Maybe that’s why Wilson has started bleating about their intention to file civil suit for “The damage done to her career”?

This report seems to pat Wilson on the back for his possible role in shivving Bush, while CS savages Wilson for his underhanded machinations to out Brewster, Jennings and save the Bushites from a probe into black market nuke components. What are your thoughts, anti?
Wilson: lackey of-Bush?
Or a fed-up rogue element of the CIA?

sunny,
Here is what I know.

- Wilson is a crony of (S&B) Kerry. He was on the campaign team.

- Kerry wrote the whitewash report on BCCI

- BCCI was the joint venture partner of AQ Khan in nuclear weapons proliferation.

- AQ Khan was the target of Valerie Plame's network.

- Valerie Plame is married to Joe Wilson.

Kinda neat eh?

The clues are in the Butler Report section on AQ Khan.

Plame is portrayed as a hero. In fact she was a disaster, an upscale Jessica Lynch. She had no future at the CIA.
(By the way, AQ Khan is the name Condi leaked "accidentally")

I'd say this is all a sting operation gone wrong. Under the IIPA none of this would have happened - and CS criticises Wilson on precisely this point. Wilson did not cite the Espionage Act even though he had cited the Rosenbergs.

anti, just so. I have lately gotten over my disappointment at realizing that Wilson could not be the hero I had hoped. The very fact that Wilson refuses to mention USC 18 Sec 794 when all upper echelon govt employees have to sign agreements to the effect that they understand it, shows me that he is indeed a red herring, a neocon loyalist who has sacrificed the security of the US to further nefarious, blackhearted agendas.
Some neat threads, indeed: Aq Khan, dealer in nuclear weapons
Brewster Jennings, looking for nuclear proliferators
Sibel Edmonds, hinting at high-profile US citizens involved in black-market sales of nuke components

Then, Sibel in neutralized, and in short order so is Brewster Jennings and Aq Khan
Hope Fitz ties it all up pretty, in a bow

ps- cs sure has it tied up and nailed down

Edited by: sunny at: 10/19/05 6:44 pm

sunny,
Quite right. I'd forgotten about Sibel.

And WHO silenced Sibell? None other than John Ashcroft!
And he was nosing into the FBI investigation when the rank-and-file rebelled.

Edited by: antiaristo at: 10/20/05 3:23 am

Brilliant Anti

But this should be on the thread about watergate event. It is absolutely true that this is all a double game and I know that David Kelly plays a role in it.

But it looks as if Fitz is quite capable of the triple-cross to get what he wants; he is a graduate in mathmatics, loves puzzles and plays rugby. I think he has all the background requirements necessary! lol.

Just thinking aloud. There will be mistakes, but it's the concept I'm trying to convey.

Look at the provenanve of the forgeries

From two retired CIA agents
to
Michael Leeden
to
Italian journalist (Burkina, something like that?)
to
"A Lady" Robert Lady (CIA and involved in illegal rendition)
to
The "Stovepipe" or OSP
to
CHENEY

So, two CIA men create forgeries and launder them in two ways
- through a foreign country (Italy)
- through a journalist

(Italy has held a parliamentary inquiry. So far as they are concerned this is an American operation.)

And they end up with.....Cheney.
Who "wants more information" of the CIA.

Now the question is, does anybody believe that when they received this request they had not only debunked the forgeries, but knew exactly who had created them?

In which case they would have motive, means and opportunity to set the trap we speculate about above? Even if they only wanted to do it to protect themselves?

I will be surprised if Judith Miller does not get nailed in another conspiracy, the Franklin/AIPAC one. I suggest considering the source on this one, as it appears to have Iranian roots, it looks like. But, the information is interesting.

www.sw-asia.com/People/Ju..._AIPAC.htm
Page 24 Paragraph numbered 7of the AIPAC Spy Ring Indictment (see below)

This is in reference to a meeting between FRANKLIN (Larry Franklin) and FO-3 (Naor Gilon) at the Pentagon Officers Athletic Club. The woman referenced is Judith Miller. Miller is a reporter for the New York Times who is as I write held in a Federal Facility in contempt of court. She wrote many now discredited stories on WMDs for the Times. The Charitable work was The Iraqi Jewish Archive which Judith Miller and Harold Rhode cooperated on with Ahmad Chalabi.

I have reason to believe that the conversation between Larry Franklin and Naor Gilon about Judith Miller included a reference to Valerie Plame. This case becomes a time bomb if it is revealed that Mossad had a part in the outing of CIA agent Plame.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 10/20/05 10:00 am

This is from the same site:

Quote:
"Called in to help organize the Iraq war-planning team was a longtime Pentagon official, Harold Rhode, a specialist on Islam who speaks Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish, and Farsi

Aren't several of those languages ones that Sybil Edmunds also spoke? And the husband and wife she reported had something to do with Turkey. When are we ever going to get to hear what she has to say? How can Ashcroft still be gagging her?
