As this Plame-Gate develops, I keep thinking back to administration adviser Ed Luttwak and his old book on how to perform a coup d'etat, and his passing reference to the palace revolution, so I looked up the definition:

Quote:
pal'ace revolu'tion

a challenge to or overthrow of a sovereign or other leader by members of the ruling family or group. Also called pal'ace revolt', pal'ace coup' Pronunciation: (kOO). [key]

I have to wonder if Cheney's office has performed a "palace coup" of sorts, to wonder if his office has everything but the title of "President'".

Also have to wonder if, while in the process of mining for CIA information, Cheney and Bolton were also looking for anything with which to blackmail Bush and/or Rove, as well as anyone else who might have gotten in the way of the "palace revolt".
