Why indeed.

Alex Jones isn't an "approved source" at DU, even though Alex interviewed a Congressman. :

Anyway...do you think the gov't is going down? Will "they" let it go down? This is alot worse than Watergate. Watergate was a prank compared to this.

There was a lot of other stuff associated with that little Nixon network going on beyond the break in. That's just what they nailed him on. Probably the same thing will happen here, if they go after Bush and co. Deals will be struck and a limited version of the truth will get put out there. Still, I'm stocking up on popcorn to watch the big show!

same watergate players + DU and alex jones

Postby nashvillebrook » Wed Oct 12, 2005 10:28 pm

it's the John Woo sequel -- novel and gruesome.

back to the DU thing...what's the deal with alex jones? is this an israeli thing? what? i admit i don't read aj, but the article is an interview. it's not commentary.

with the new design it's like DU think they are, what? Salon? Nerve for nerds? is there some DU vs kos competition? who can be more pandering to the Triangulators?

i really think it has to do with the Triangulators, which is just fine by me b/c that's a fairly easy target.

but something in the back of my mind says it all goes back to the ELECTION. the election refor'um crew were the original freaks and after TIA was tombstoned have been increasingly attacked by the likes of OnTheOtherHand and Feebie. those two have run everyone off the forum and they act like the defenders of all that's true and good. it's creepy.

it's an interesting time to be clever.

Yes, we are definitely being monitored. Don't kid yourselves. I recently spent some time with some friends, one who claimed to know some CIA agents, and who told me to be conscious of the FACT that whatever I say or do on the internet is not anonymous, and that if I am active in anti-government conversation I should be aware that I am being monitored (I have already accepted this probability and I trust that a future in which I can be arrested or detained for my BELIEFS is not one I want to be a part of, it's a price worth paying).

On the same token, America, for what it's worth, is still a free county, and the constitution is still the supreme law of the land, despite how it may have been perverted in recent years. Time will tell.

Incidentally, fuck DU, I don't know why you people concern yourselves with it.

Edited by: NoNostalgia at: 10/12/05 9:18 pm

Patriots all

Postby lilorphant » Thu Oct 13, 2005 12:55 am

The Government is made up of many regular people who are just as concerned as we are about what is going on. Many of them are uncomfortable in their positions, fear their job is at risk for being "unsupportive", for taking an alternative viewpoint, for supporting peer-reviewed science, and many, many people in administrative functions are victims of this administration.

They come from all kinds of backgrounds, traditional conservatives, liberals, patriots, and independents. Like jury nullification, they can resist to act against their fellow Americans if instructed to.

lil -- that's my take too.

Postby nashvillebrook » Thu Oct 13, 2005 3:52 pm

it's too easy to cast the whole GOV as bad, but the fact is that there's plenty of patriots on the inside who live for the little drips of truth that squeeze their way out. speaking up is the right thing to do no matter how much censorship, monitoring or ridicule.

i use my real name and city in my screen name b/c it makes life online REAL. i don't have one screen name anywhere that isn't nashville_brook. i am who i am and that makes me very happy. i also don't see it as much of a "risk" b/c i'm not involved in any "group," nor do i advocate anything stupid. i have NO POWER except for the words i write. i don't threaten people nor egg-on anything violent. i'm just a voice -- specifically, i'm a writer honing my craft. non-fiction first-person narrative essays, bascially. writing on forums keeps my chops up and gives me something to do while i'm procrasinating and baking bread. it helps me understand what issues are hot and what's not. if i'm being monitored, i pity the poor sentinal assigned to my "case." what a boring job. they should stop by for warm bread and jam and we can talk in person.

dbeach -- check out this movie

Postby nashvillebrook » Thu Oct 13, 2005 6:26 pm

What the Bleep Do We Know -- deals with that whole vibe thing in depth and very well, imo. goes into some science. goes into personal life. it's a wonderful film -- a new kind of documentary. we rented it from Netflix and watched it a couple of times before sending it back.

one of the thiings discussed in the movie was an experiement done in DC in the 80s (i might have the decade wrong). they figured up the population and recruited a significant percentage of people to meditate -- i think it was 1 meditator to every 100 people. i can't remember the specifics, but the experiments were successful and the question asked to viewers was, "what if we had more meditators?" what if the percentage were 1 to 10, 1 to 5 -- ONE TO ONE!

i'm just starting on the journey to be a better focused meditator. i've spent many years on mindfulness and i think i'm ready to go the next step. if nothing else, just having a chunk of time for silence is a wonderful thing -- and it's not like i have noisy, harried life. no kids, no job -- just home, writing and dogs. the quiet time is making me feel so much more grounded -- like time slows down.

i'm pretty sensitive to vibes, period. hubby used to be in a band and i used to have to be around way too many people. too many vibes. too much noise. i'd much rather be around plants and animals than people. at least people with noisy minds.
