More wierdness from mother nature: Dolphins fleeing north

remember "The Day of the Dolphin"?

Postby mother » Sun Mar 05, 2006 2:57 am

The story about the use of dolphins for sinister military ops? Could they be fleeing underwater volcanos? And what about that big "dead zone" around the south of Florida, and that odd huge parade of fish along Florida's coast last year?

Sea Temperature

Postby BajaSur » Sun Mar 05, 2006 3:51 am

I think the rise in sea temp. has been 2 or 3 degrees in the last 20 years. Yeah, thats an issue thats needs adressing, but does it warrant a comment like this:

Dr. Fishman said "this is exactly what we would expect for dolphin behavior... if you had hot water poured on you, you would flee, wouldn't you?"

Sorry, I'm not buying thier reason for the dolphins exodus. Every year I see pods of dolphins in the Monterey Bay in summer, then they migrate south in the winter to warmer waters. Its what dolphins do.
Why are the dolphins terrified? Because the waters just went up a degree? This article does little to explain.
With a name like "Gaia's Revenge" it would seem the researchers have a not so hidden agenda. That would be global warming which is a noble and important cause for sure, but are they missing the real reason the dolphins are terrified?
Mother mentions a "dead zone", I don't know anything about it, but I would consider it before a rise in temperature (which is happening at a rate the dolphins can escape without panic).

<on edit> mother, after reading the other thread you were posting on tonight, I want to say that you were mistreated. I like your posts, I think that you are full of wisdom and not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy your posts. Don't let immature, punk-asses get you down. Your better than that.

Edited by: BajaSur at: 3/5/06 1:11 am

Well, maybe it's just a bad website, but it's still total bullshit -- and disinformation.

(as I responded on the thread I started you linked to but with a sentance moved for emphasis)

This is disinfo for newbies and some of us vets can fall for it, too.
Yes, a real psy-ops page.

The only clues in the original honey trap article were two names of 'scientists'-
Prof. Bonita Krillman
Dr. William Fishman

and a 'student'-
'Crystal Dearing'

Easy to miss in the rest of the article that is entirely credible with no humor at all.

The source page articles are half obvious
and half totally normal titles.
When you go to the Onion's website you can tell that every piece is a gag. No one would mistake it for a psy-ops page.

This isn't a humor site as advertised. It is far more deceptive.

Don't forget that most internet users don't know a fraction of what is common knowledge here. I posted the thread about it and not just the original source to show how we get distracted by seeming veracity and watch the ball instead of who threw it.

Being eager to comment without having seen an article in context when it is described as controversial is both gullible and lazy.

Hey, we were both right. Look over at my additions following up on your comment.

This was even more sophisticated than my original assessment.

And you are right about looking hard and deep but the deceptions are sophisticated and falling into them isn't just laziness.
