It is right now

When I was young I lived in the American South. Now I live in the Northeast. In the winter the sun is paler and lower in the sky, causing more glare.

This is what you would expect for prosaic reasons, though. I haven't noticed any difference in the summer, and I haven't noticed the other irregularities people describe.

...I kept telling people I had died and gone to hell. They would tell me I hadn't, that they knew that because they weren't in hell, but I said that's exactly what they'd say if I WAS in hell to make me feel more hellishly alone.

I'm not so sure I was wrong.

the moon is out of kilter again

Postby Trifecta » Fri Dec 09, 2005 5:10 am

I am with you on that one banned, and your worm whole theory is not out of the box, only the expression of it...something has changed, shifted over the last six weeks and here is how you test it.

As your friends, the real ones, those in touch with themselves, the ones that have done some introspection, the road less traveled, ask them how they are feeling lately.

I think you may be surprised at how many are feeling suicidal, that life is pointless and their place in this world has no meaning.

What have you got to loose, just ask them.

Personally I know something is not right, for a million reasons and this seven year begetarian could not stop the forces of bacon pangs at the weekend ...I ate eight bacon butties ... the moon is out of kilter again.

...everyone I know who is at all thoughtful feels something is amiss; some have felt that way for awhile, others were shocked and saddened by Katrina, which for many who were still 'asleep' finally ripped off the facade.

Our society has long been rotting, now it's like an old pumpkin that's about to explode and finally let the stink out so it can no longer be ignored.

And perhaps this is good. How long have we compartmentalized the world, tried to ignore the cost of our feel-good, Happy Meal society?

I suppose until enough people feel really bad nothing will change. Unfortunately things may be SO bad now that instead of feeling angry and demanding change, people are sinking into despair.

Bacon buttie?

Postby Col Quisp » Fri Dec 09, 2005 12:16 pm

What is a bacon buttie? As a swine lover, it sounds good to me!

I don't think we're in hell -- more like purgatory.

Extension cords.

Postby Sweejak » Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:06 pm

Ok I know this is weird but I have noticed over the last few years that power cords on my machines are cracking and deteriorating at what seems to me to be an unusual rate. This happens with black ones, the dull rubbery ones, rather than the shiny vinyl ones.
