Anyone else see this yesterday?

I got up, was drinking my coffee, and turned on Netscape.

When it boots up, it always shows a "top news stories" kind of screen.

One of them was in the business section and it read something like "Stock market down on bird flu confirmation". Something roughly like that.

I had to get up, and when I came back and clicked on that link, it was gone. It took me to a page that said "that story does not exist". And back on the headline page, it was gone as well.

I tried to find the story elsewhere, with no luck.

Anyone know anything about this? It really bothers me that they might be scrubbing stories about bird flu. Especially if the stock market is gonna tank because of it, ya know?

I didn't see it but it doesn't surprise me. Lots of cases under-reported. Maybe Superbowl Steve was right after all! he said there would be bird flu after the Stealers won. Heh.

Only heard that the latest case has popped up in Nigeria. Lots happening in Nigeria lately: kiddnappings, sabotage, populist insurgencies against oil occupation, which have been unnerving energy traders and the larger markets according to the MSM.

I'd think bird flu there would calm these jitters a bit.

edited for grammar

Edited by: Gouda at: 2/9/06 4:58 am
