Comparable Examples of Fictional Media Reports

By Douglas Herman
10-30-6

In a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of automobile security systems, four tots hotwired a Toyota Land Rover and cruised along fabled Deco Drive in South Beach Miami. The merry group spent the evening crashing top night spots and easily eluding waitresses, bartenders and bouncers. Credit card receipts, obviously signed by one of the tots, showed thousands in charges for table dances, champagne and limo service. A crayon drawing left by one of the tots lent conclusive proof of their guilt, according to local law enforcement officials.

A trio of nuns broke into a North Dakota missile site in a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of USAF security systems. The nuns quickly removed the nuclear warhead in 20 minutes from the ICBM using a crescent wrench, car jack and plastic crucifix. A nun's habit and Gideon Bible, inscribed with the name of one of the nuns, providently found at the crime scene, indicated conclusive proof of their guilt and the trio was quickly captured.

A pair of elderly pensioners swiped two Abrams M1A1 tanks yesterday and crashed them into the Virginia state capitol after driving them 150 miles undetected. In a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of US Army security systems, the senior citizens swiped the tanks from a National Guard armory. After crashing the tanks into the office building, the pair fled on foot, eluding hundreds of lawmen. But a dog-eared copy of National Geographic magazine, found at the crime scene addressed to one of the octogenarians, lead to the speedy arrest and confinement of the pair.

Six autistic kids, ranging in age from 12 to 19, broke into Fort Knox yesterday and looted billions in gold from the vaults in a daring daylight raid. The complex, well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of the vault's security system, allowed the kids easy entry. Video cameras, however, caught the six laughing and joking while entering the open vaults. Unfortunately for the plotters, an inscribed trophy from the 2001 Special Olympics, along with a group photograph of the six, was found at the crime site, foiling the perfect crime.

In a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of nuclear submarine security systems, two teenage lovers who called themselves Romeo and Juliet, stole a Trident submarine yesterday and enjoyed a brief joyride before sinking the sub in a suicide pact in 10,000 feet of water. Although no bodies were recovered, a water-soaked library card found floating on the Pacific Ocean , belonging to Roy Meoli, age 17, confirmed to law enforcement officials that the troubled teenage boy was the sole mastermind of the daring heist.

A quintet of teenage girls swiped the space shuttle from its Florida launch pad and buzzed Disneyworld in Orlando yesterday afternoon. In a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of the shuttle security system, the girls commandeered the aging spacecraft. Swooping low, they performed several complex aerobatics, then sped skyward. Flying above Seaworld, they paused to write the cell phone number of one of their boyfriends in bold, three hundred-foot letters in the sky. Local police traced the cell phone number and quickly apprehended the juveniles later at a slumber party, before charging them with the crime.

Several Saudi high school seniors commandeered the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower yesterday in a complex and well-coordinated heist, combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of Navy security systems. The teens sailed the ship across the Pacific undetected and then down to Acapulco for a weekend of binge drinking, while picking up girls along the way. Navy officials had no prior knowledge of the plan to hijack the missing aircraft carrier, nor even knew it was missing. But officials found a charred credit card belonging to one of the thieves on the flight deck of the carrier proving, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the hijackers guilt.

A quartet of quadriplegics borrowed the SS Queen Mary yesterday and sailed the ship to San Diego in an elaborate navigational feat. The foursome commandeered the former luxury liner, usually berthed at Long Beach California , after attending a weeklong course in sailing. An instructor at Bob Bligh's Sailing School said the handicapped hijackers failed the rudiments of sailing and navigation and nearly wrecked a rowboat. However, law enforcement officials quickly said that failure didn't necessarily mean that four handicapped men, confined to wheelchairs, couldn't have piloted a 1000 foot luxury liner usually requiring dozens of officers and hundreds of trained crewmen. As if to confirm this likely explanation, an FBI spokesman said investigators found promotional videotapes from Carnival Cruise Lines, a copy of the movie Titanic, and a Blockbuster membership card belonging to one of the men in the wheelhouse of the Queen Mary, confirming the obvious guilt of the four.

Nineteen flight school dropouts, in a complex and well-coordinated heist combining speed and stealth with an uncanny knowledge of our nation's security systems, commandeered four jumbo jets and flew hundreds of miles before returning to crash the planes into pre-selected targets. A flight school instructor said the men performed badly in the simplest of flight maneuvers in small Cessna airplanes. But local law enforcement officials quickly claimed the 19 hijackers could easily have performed complex maneuvers in much larger and more complex Boeing jumbo jets. Video cameras captured the ringleaders laughing and joking and a charred passport, found at the scene of the crash indicated, beyond any reasonable doubt, the guilt of the men.

Douglas Herman writes regularly for Rense. My problem with the various conspiracy theories is that they're actually the same as the 'official' theory.

nomo, why was not a single one of the eight highly trained professional pilots and co-pilots who flew the planes that were hijacked on 911 able to take the 4-5 seconds (at most) to enter a 4-digit hijacking code into their transponders/radios (I can't remember which unit takes and transmits these codes) during the time they remained at the controls and while their crews, passengers and their cockpits were under assault by the hijacker/patsies?

hmmm, not a single one of the eight followed standard protocol that day. Wow, what an amazing coincidence.

Then, please explain why no one fired even a single slingshot at Flight 77 as it passed over the most secure air space in the US, flying almost directly above the CIA bldg, the WH and Congress, even though the intent of those controlling this plane had been known for about 40 minutes before it ultimately crashed into the Pentagon.

Oh, and who shot down Flight 93, and where's the missing last 3 minutes or so of its flight data recorder?

And then, after you're done 'splainin' that one, how did kerosene (jet fuel)-fed fires in the WTC's manage to attain temperatures hot enough to melt structural steel, when it is impossible for such a fire to attain such temperatures until now attained only through chemical enhancement, arc-welding or blast furnaces.

what a bunch of horseshit. Nope, nothing wrong here, not a thing... la ti da ti da. Move along. Nothin' to see here. Let's all just go singing merrily along the way to the graveyard.

Edited by: isachar at: 11/6/06 1:59 pm

Its all absurd. What's with you anyway Nomo? Why do you come to this board if you really feel like this is all so unlikely? So are we now supposed to think you believe the official version? I don't think our security is all that damned good, to be quite honest. But I do think it is ridiculous to believe that these guys hijacked planes, etc... and did it competently. I also see too much opportunity that was grasped upon to enact draconian and authoritarian rule over a democratic people, no matter how much we "deserve it." I don't follow you.

Edited by: postrchild at: 11/6/06 2:28 pm

Don't follow me

Postby nomo » Mon Nov 06, 2006 6:06 pm

I believe in the possibility of unique, one-off events, and I'm inclined to think that September 11 may have been one. I'm certainly aware of the multitude of "anomalies" that occurred that day, but that doesn't convince me that the best explanation is some outlandish plot that requires massive government collusion, as-of-yet-unknown secret technology and other such proposed alternatives, all of which would require as much suspension of disbelief as the much maligned "official story."

It's just that I've come to the conclusion that it just might have been possible for 19 dedicated guys and proper funding to take control over 4 commercial aircraft and slam them into buildings before anyone on the ground had an idea of just what the @#%$ was going on. Yeah, they got lucky, people do.

And knowing what I know now about the design of the towers, I think their sheer size and their peculiar design made them extremely vulnerable to collapse, in spite of what the original engineers were telling us. Then again, I also believe that the hijackers and their sponsors probably weren't expecting the towers to come down.

In short, I'm open to the possibility that the events were a prime example of a singularity, and the universe is full of those. Not everything you can't explain has to be a conspiracy.

Now if you want to talk about the aftermath, and who benefitted or took adavantage of it, there's plenty of conspiracy to go around there, but I think the out-of-hand dismissal of the hijacking "theory" is not very helpful, especially since all of the alternatives that I know of are even more far-fetched.

I, for one, enjoy Nomo's presence and postings on this board. It isnt everyday that someone makes me spit up my milk all over the computer screen. You just cant find good humor like that anywhere. I have forwarded most of Nomo's postings to Jon Stewert and Colbert, I really think the guy has potential in political satire. It IS satire right, Nomo??

Edited by: MASONIC PLOT at: 11/6/06 3:24 pm

'anomalies' my azz.

If one such event is impossible (such as one I forgot to mention earlier - that being the complete lack of resistance of the remaining structure to the progressive collapse of the floors above them), then any possibility, no matter how minute, is emphemeral. Meaning, it exists in your mind only and outside any objective reality.

While 8 professionally trained pilots neglecting to take a few seconds to follow protocol by entering a four digit code isn't impossible, I think any objective person will admit that it is highly improbable.

Lessee, jet-fuel fueled fires melting structural steel in an office building fire. Now that's impossible.

Cheney failing to order in-place ground to air defense systems ti fire at a plane with a known hostile intent? This is a guy who shot a lawyer almost point blank with a shotgun a year ago, for crissakes. What's gonna stop him from ordering Flight 77 to be shot down?

And, how 'bout this one, Osama picks the exact day of several hijacking exercises? Again, not impossible, but surely highly improbable.

Melted steel and free-fall collapse speed with no resistance from remaining structure absolutely preclude any 'possibility', no matter how remote. That's before we even talk about WTC 7, or the disapperarance of Flight 93's engines when all it did was to crash into soft dirt!

You're right nomo the alternatives are simply unbelievable: who would have thought a 90 IQ crackhead homosexual richkid frat boy who left every enterprise he ever touched in a shambles would become "leader of the freeworld" and proceed to destroy this said "freeworld" right in front of everyones' eyes and no one lifts a finger. Amazing.

outlandish plots...

Postby 5E6A » Mon Nov 06, 2006 9:32 pm

"...outlandish plot that requires massive government collusion..."

Two words: Manhattan Project. The fact remains, government in and of itself is a massive endeavor of collusion, conspiracy, obfuscation and disinformation. That is how they remain in power. That is what they do 24/7/365.

Want to know the biggest conspiracy of all times? The one that continues to get people to think that voting is an actual process whereby the individual choses another for representation. Oh, ah, stop it you're killing me. Yah, that is why it took until the mid 1800's before it was no longer required for a white male to own land in order to be eligible to vote. That is why it took until the 1950's before the requisite 3/4 of all statue legislatures, with the return of Maryland's assent, approval of the 19th amendment to the constitution giving women the right to vote. That is why the caucus system arose in the 1830's to take over the process of vetting candidates from the rag tag de facto arrangement that business leaders and owners of the press had presided over to date, so that no real choice is ever had from local to state to federal elections. That is why African Americans are still being purged from the voting roles 150 years after the civil war and 50 years after the civil rights movement.

Nope, the construct we know of as government is too inept to keep secrets from the public. Feh. What a farce..........

nomo, now there is the flaw in your and others argument who challenge those who reject the phony official story. It is absolutely so not incumbent on those who reject the story to offer an explanation of what did happen. It is only necessary to know what DID NOT happen to know that the official story is a bunch of phony baloney.

Sorry, dude, but free-fall collapse of the WTC's, molten metal found therein, failure to even fire a pea-shooter at Flight 77 as it flew over the WH, WTC-7's inexplicable collapse, and failure of 8 seasoned pilots to enter a four digit hijacking code to signal their planes being taken over is more than enough for me to know the official story is little more than a nursery tale - one you fully endorse.

I'm afraid you're the one who needs to 'get out more'. Ya might try visiting your local libraray and study upon the the law of conservation of motion, melting point of structural steel, and the temperature of jet fuel burning in an open compartment.

Get a clue, bozo.

Edited by: isachar at: 11/6/06 7:57 pm
