Someone please slap me

Postby prophetlady » Thu Jul 07, 2005 8:00 pm

I'm feeling an overwhelming numbness, a sadness that cuts right to the core. After the London tragedy today, all I could hear was 9/11, Islamic terrorists, war on terror, must continue to fight, blah, blah, blah. Then I got into an argument with a coworker who proclaimed that, in retaliation for London, we should nuke Iraq. Told me I was crazy and that I should have to go live in Iraq since I obviously was anti-American. Said I was no better than the terrorists. Tried to listen to the radio but all I heard was 9/11, Islamic terrorists, war on terror, must continue to fight, blah, blah, blah. Came home from work to find my husband watching CNN and all I could hear was 9/11, Islamic terrorists, war on terror, must continue to fight, number one G8 priority should be war on terror, blah, blah, blah.

Profound sadness and overwhelming numbness. Want to be certain of something, and feel as though nothing will ever be certain again. So sorry for the victims, all of them, of all the crimes perpetrated against them. Wish I could actually DO something. Feeling very helpless. Feeling very sorry for myself and for everyone else.

Feel like all I'll ever hear again is 9/11, Islamic terrorists ,war on terror, blah, blah, blah.

Please someone make it stop.

Bless You for not being taken-in by the Violence Pimps

Postby Starman » Thu Jul 07, 2005 9:26 pm

Heyia Prophetlady;

I doubt I could 'handle' being inundated by such shrill, war-drum bleatings and rantings and 'Grrr! Grr!' feel-good idiocy, so I've stayed-away from the 'news' and pop-radio -- it must be terrible, the days and weeks after 911 were very hard for me and many, many others who suspected some foul treachery, even more awful than an attack by 'enemies' had played their hand.

For whatever its worth, know you're not alone in your despair and grief, made to feel an outsider for not going along with the pop-crowd lust for battle. How crude and vulgar and downright stupid, anyway -- are these people so absolutely dumb they can't understand the people of the Middle East have a million times more cause to wish 'revenge' on the US and GB? Jeez, that level of sheer stupidity is NOT accidental, likely it's even fueled by embarrassment that pride is often substituted for reason.

The London Bombings sound a lot like the Strategy of Tension in Italy, where the US and GB conducted a covert terror war against the Italian public for almost 25 years, responsible for hundreds of victims from bombings and killings for which the Communist party was most often blamed. Tell your friends and familiy about this hidden piece of history, perhaps print-out copies and post them up or hand them out. Course, too, some folks are going to disbelieve anything that doesn't conform with what they know, regardless of what they are shown.
Ennyway -- Keep the spirit and stay strong;
Starman

www.forteantimes.com/foru...8218a3b00b
THE ITALIAN ‘STRATEGY OF TENSION’ AND NATO’S ‘STAY BEHIND’ NETWORKS
07.01.2004 09:27

Recent events in Italy have led certain people to ask if we are witnessing the implementation a new ‘strategy of tension’ by Italy’s bourgeoisie. Unfortunately, many seem either completely unaware of the history of state manipulation of terrorism in Italy, or only vaguely so. The obfuscators in the bourgeois media of course encourage this unfortunate ignorance, for by rewriting recent history they hope nobody will be able to put more recent events into historical context in order to understand the present spectacle of terrorism.

From the late 1960’s through to the early 1980’s, Italy witnessed waves of social upheaval and class conflict. Alongside these conflicts, Italy also witnessed the phenomenon of ‘terrorism’, ostensibly carried out by extra-parliamentary groups of the far left and far right. However, the spectacle of Italian terrorism concealed powerful interests, both domestic and international.

In addition to the more ‘mundane’ terror that Italy’s various neo-fascist groups dished out on the streets to their enemies, far right organisations were involved in the most spectacular and devastating episodes that frame the ‘years of lead’ (as the period in question came to be known): the bombing of a bank in Milan’s Piazza Fontana in 1969, and the blowing up of Bologna railway station in 1980. However, the neo-fascist groups that were ostensibly behind these attacks were well integrated into the state apparatus, via the so-called Gladio Networks.

Beyond this, the fact that the objectives of far right organisations are broadly identical to those leading the state, and that many of their supporters and activists were drawn from the states apparatus of repression, makes it very easy for them to be infiltrated and manipulated by the state. As always, there have been various attempts to explain state involvement in far right terrorism in terms of ‘infiltration’ of the state by the far right, the actions so-called ‘rouge elements’, etc.

Liberals and leftists are particularly keen on this sort of apologetic obfuscation. A more accurate picture of events would been provided by the neo-fascist terrorist Vincenzo Vinciguerra: “every bombing in Italy after 1969 was linked to one group…The orders are given by an apparatus belonging to the state, specifically by a secret parallel structure of the Interior Ministry.”

The Gladio Network was set up during the 1950’s as part of a wider “stay behind” network established throughout European countries aligned to NATO at the end of WWII, to go into action in the event of an Eastern Bloc invasion or domestic Communist ‘subversion’, using secret arms caches. They were under the overall control of US intelligence, involving domestic intelligence groups and committed ‘anti-communists’. The latter group inevitably contained a large number of neo-fascists. Lucio Gelli, Grandmaster of P2 – the establishment Masonic lodge and at times effective parallel government of Italy – confirmed this, reporting that many Gladio members in Italy were drawn form the ranks of fascist veterans of Mussolini’s last stand, the Salo Republic. The US also pumped huge amounts of money into the coffers of far right organisations, supposedly as a bulwark against the left, especially the large Italian Communist Party (PCI).

The Gladio networks, and the extra-parliamentary far right in general, were utilise by ruling class elements to carry out actions as part of what became known as the “Strategy of Tension”. The general aim of this strategy, developed in the face of working class militancy, was to create a heightened sense of disorientation, fear and atomisation amongst the general population, leading to an increased identification with authority. While some initially hoped that this would lead to a military take over, this strategy became a more general response in periods of social unrest and political crisis.

The Pizza Fontana bombing illustrates this perfectly, taking place as it did at the height of the social upheavals of the ‘Hot Autumn’ of 1969. As the Situationist Gianfranco Sanguinetti observed, writing in the late 1970’s about the spectacle of state manipulated terrorism, the aim of such events as the Piazza Fontana bombing was to “make the whole population…believe that it has at least one enemy in common with this state, and from which the state defends it on condition that it is no longer called into question by anyone.” In other words, the ‘war against terrorism’ – the bourgeoisie has been running this racket for quite some time now! – was meant to inject a sense of common national interest into the population (particularly the working class) at times of social crisis.

Immediately after the Piazza Fontana bombing in 1969, Sanguinetti, in a short flyer entitled ‘Is the Reichstag Burning?’ denounced the bombings as state provocations, unlike the vast majority of the left at the time, who generally took police and media lies at face value: ‘THE BOMB IN MILAN EXPLODED AGAINST THE PROLETARIAT, it was intended to wound the least radicalised categories in order to ally them with power, and to tighten the ranks of the bourgeoisie for the witch hunt…’

Partly in response to the grim spectacle of state organised ‘far right’ terrorism, along with more general attacks on the working class by the ruling class and its state apparatus, 1970 witnessed the formation of the Red Brigades (R.B.’s). While the main impetus for their creation largely came from genuine workers and Leftist intellectuals, inspired by the PCI dominated anti-fascist partisans of WWII, the organisation was based on a rigid Leninist ideology and structure, and a militaristic conception of the class struggle.

During 1974, the original leadership of the R.B.’s, including Renato Curcio and Alberto Franceshini, were arrested, which paved the way for Mario Moretti and his strategy of constant military escalation. There were suggestions at the time, and subsequently, that Moretti was an agent provocateur. Marco Pisetta and Silvano Girotto also infiltrated the group, along with the ex-Franciscan friar Salvano Girotto (known as “Brother Machine Gun”), amongst many others.

On the 16 March, 1978 Christian Democratic Party leader Aldo Moro was kidnapped by the Red Brigades, in an operation notable for its brutality and military precision. Moro was an advocate of a ‘history compromise’ in Italian politics. This would involve the opening up of the state to the Communist Party (PCI). Moro correctly perceived the completely reformist nature of the PCI. He hoped that this policy would diminish the radicalism of the working class. Powerful factions of the Italian ruling class, as well as American ruling class, were totally opposed to PCI participation in government. Moro became increasingly preoccupied with US opposition to his policy of historic compromise with the PCI.

During a 1974 visit to America as Italian foreign minister, Henry Kissinger warned Moro off his policy of compromise with the PCI. After he was kidnapped, the CIA refused to co-operate in the hunt for Moro. On the 9 May, Moro’s body was found in the trunk of a car on Rome’s Via Caetani, symbolically halfway between the headquarters of the Christian Democratic and Communist Parties’.

Significantly, during the 1960’s a secret coup plot called “Piano Solo”(Plan Solo) organised by fascist-sympathiser, intelligence chief and carabinieri leader General De Lorenzo called for the assassination of Moro, who had promised an “opening to the left” - i.e., letting the Italian Communist Party (PCI) into government, a precursor of his “Historic Compromise”. The planned coup was called off at the last minute due to a compromise between the Socialist Party and right-wing Christian Democrats. De Lorenzo went on to create a secret organisation named “La Rosa Dei Venti” (Rose of the Winds), aimed at grouping together those sympathetic to De Lorenzo and his plan. This conspiracy was a direct precursor to the strategy of tension and P2.

On 2 August, 1980 a powerful bomb exploded in the second class waiting room at Bologna railway station, resulting in 85 deaths and 200 injuries. Fascists ostensibly carried out the bombing, a series of right-wingers later being convicted and then acquitted for carrying out the attack. However, it soon became clear that more powerful interests lay behind the attack. It is established that the explosives used were from a NATO Gladio arsenal, and subsequent investigations implicate Gelli and P2 as being those behind the massacre. (When interviewed by British television upon his release from prison and asked if he had any part in the bombing, P2 boss Gelli simply smiled and stated that ‘the Communists had to be kept out of the government’!)

In January of the following year, Gelli attends Ronald Reagan’s inauguration. He would later spend a whole week with George H.W. Bush, the ex-CIA director (1970’s), vice-president (1981-8, and future president (1989-93) (also the father of the present cretin inhabiting the White House, in case anyone didn’t know). In 1990, Dick Brenneke, who claims to have been a CIA operative, makes a series of allegations concerning American involvement with P2 and the strategy of tension. Amongst these was that George Bush not only had knowledge of CIA involvement with P2 and the strategy of tension, but that the one time director of the CIA was one of the masterminds of these events.

In December 1981 the US General James Lee Dozier is kidnapped by the Red Brigades, sparking the largest manhunt in Italian history. The Mafia aids the manhunt, which is far larger than that for Moro. The successful location and release of Dozier by the authorities spells the ‘beginning of the end’ for the Red Brigades.

However, during the late 1990’s, the organisation re-emerged with the assassination of Massimo D’Antona, a government advisor on labour law. In a 28-page document, the killing is claimed by the R.B.’s (full name now ‘Red Brigades for the construction of the fighting Communist Party’!). D’Antona’s widow – amongst others – voices doubts about the motives of her late husbands supposed killers, suggesting that he may have been killed at the behest of “conservative forces”.

The supposed re-formation of the R.B.’s takes place in the wake of the upsurge of the Italian Right, and the emergence of the billionaire media magnet and football club owner Silvio Berlusconi and his ‘party’ Forza Italia (a football slogan) as a political force in Italy – Berlusconi is a onetime member of the P2. During the early 1990’s, at the time of the entry of Berlusconi's Forza Italia into Italian political life, a series of bizarre bombings take place. These include attacks on an art gallery in Milan, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Rome cathedral of St John's in Lateran, which are rather implausibly blamed on the Mafia. In 1999 it would be claimed that Berlusconi was in fact behind the bombings, which occurred shortly before his election as Prime Minister at head of the so-called Freedom Alliance (which included Forza Italia, the regionalist-xenophobic Northern Leagues and the ‘post-Fascist’ National Alliance).

In the lead up to the anti-G8 mobilisation in Genoa during July 2001, a parcel bomb that is sent to a police station explodes, injuring a cop. No one claims responsibility for the bomb, but the media speculate that the bomb is the work of “militants on the fringe of the…protesters” (Guardian), failing to mention the historical context of the Italian states’ manipulation of, and heavy involvement in terrorism in the recent passed. During the massive anti-G8 demonstrations of July 2001, police subject demonstrators to systematic brutality, attacking the demonstrations organisational headquarters and the Independent Media Centre. Hundreds are arrested, many being subjected to intimidation and torture. One protester, Carlo Giuliani, is shot dead by the carabinieri.

Following the Genoa repression, a Venice court is bombed hours before Silvio Berlusconi is due to visit the city. Twenty groups claim responsibility for the bombing! ‘Anti-terrorist’ police search the homes of two neo-Nazi sympathisers. In addition, a bomb explodes at the headquarters of the right-wing Northern League in the Italian town of Vigonza, near Venice. No group claims responsibility.

Early this year, the Berlusconi government launched a series of raids against the network of social centres, which are connected to the ‘White Overall’ movement. In March 2002, Marco Biagi, an advisor to the Berlusconi government on labour law reform, is assassinated. The police suggest that the same gun was used to kill Massimo D’Antona three years previously! The killing, which takes place on the eve of a massive anti-government mobilisation against labour ‘reform’, is claimed by the Red Brigades over the Internet. The statement also praises the attack on the World Trade Centre in the USA on ‘anti-imperialist’ grounds. The planned anti-government mobilisation goes ahead, but the media portrays the massive demonstration as an anti-terrorist mobilisation (much of the Left and the Trade Unions play along with this, to some extent).

State involvement in the very terrorism our rulers so loudly declared war against has become an increasingly apparent phenomenon across the world. The example of the so-called Nijvel gang in Belgium could be cited here. This gang carried out a series of bizarre and brutal armed robberies on supermarkets in the province of Brabant between 1982 and 1985, which led to the deaths of 28 people with very small amounts of money being stolen. When it was revealed that the weapons used to carry out these murders, which have become known as the Brabant massacres, came from police arsenals the gang became linked to the far-right organisation Westland-New Post who in turn linked to the Belgian police and security apparatus. It has since come to light that the Nijvel gang were operating as part of a "strategy of tension" similar to that carried out in Italy during the early seventies, connected to NATO’s “stay behind” networks.

(more info on Gladio and links ar site)

Coping strategies

Postby Avalon » Fri Jul 08, 2005 12:16 am

Anyone gives you that "We should nuke Iraq" crap, remind them that we're already doing it there on the installment plan.

"Pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living" -- Mother Jones

It's so hard when we get caught up in the emotions that this sort of act engenders. If you have any sort of empathy, the numbness and sadness can overwhelm for some time. I think many of us realize in retrospect what a very long time it took us to shake that miasma that had settled into our bones after 911, and how long it took us to get far enough away from that that we could even recognize the process.

Let's look into some positive things we can do in this time of confusion that will help us deal with the anger, fear and pain, let alone the sense of disempowerment. We got blindsided with 911, but maybe we've learned some things since then. There are some useful techniques that can help us whether we're in the middle of a scary situation, or just affected by someone else's situation.

First things first. A Buddhist friend always reminded me, "Don't forget to breathe." When we are frightened, surprised, in pain, we tighten up, we don't think as clearly. Taking a few minutes to just concentrate on breathing fully and deeply gives us more oxygen for our body and mind. Use that time to be aware of where you are holding tension in, and after you've had a chance to center yourself in your breath, use each breath as an opportunity to relax a tense part. It may help you to visualize your personal space as being a space of safety.

Be aware of how people are doing around you. If you've been able to get yourself more centered, you may be needed to help someone else get calm. Ask those around you what helps them cope. You may find some very useful responses that might not have come out if you hadn’t asked.

Those of you who are healing from trauma may have some techniques you have learned that help you cope with stressful situations you encounter. Are there some coping skills that you've learned that could be safely shared with others here?

For that matter, are there any things that would set up red flags for those with a background of trauma that wouldn't normally affect most people? If so, what should other people be aware of?

Assess the safety or preparedness of your own situation. If you are physically okay and in a safe place, are there any things you meant to do after 911 to increase your ability to be self-sufficient in case of a widescale emergency that you didn't get around to doing? Are there things your community was going to do that would increase safety and preparedness but hasn’t gotten together yet? Do you need to remind them?

I know my own county’s emergency task force website has some lovely noble sentiments about what they intend do in terms of being a clearinghouse for accurate information in the event of an emergency, but when we had both a natural disaster emergency and an outbreak of violence this spring, there was nothing on the Internet that was helpful or up to date. They announced that we were to stay off the roads for 24 hours during the natural disaster (most of us found out through the grapevine), yet there was nowhere on the Web that we could find that information. When the violence issue erupted, the media were giving out totally untrue rumors and don’t seem to have been able to get appropriate information from official sources. I’m going to use this occasion to make sure all the agencies involved are paying attention to how they could better handle their information flow so that we all don’t feel so helpless because we’re being kept in the dark.

Gather information. After all the lies of 911 we know that we should have VCRs and DVD recorders running non-stop, especially with local news in the cities affected. If there is a web pages which looks like it has crucial information that might get “disappeared” later, save it. Don’t think that gathering information needs to be terribly sophisticated, even. Some of the most interesting recent work on what really happened on 911 has been in the past year, where people have started to fully examine the alleged passenger lists of the 4 planes, finding some extraordinarily disturbing discrepancies which the mainstream media (let alone the 911 Commission) have never touched (many of these are documented in the archives of the 911 forum on Democratic Underground).

We’re stronger when we can work together . Don’t let yourself get isolated. Don’t let them take away your voice or your power to act.

We are not going to let them win.

Prophet Lady, I feel you-numbness, helplessness, despair-now the anger "Oh no, not again!" but no surprise really, just the painfull lonliness of that twilight world we were in after 911, intuiting things that no one was willing to listen to. My advice is to stay away from the msm, except to record the lies, and stick to forums like this one, where you can express yourself freely, and we will all listen and fully sympathize you.

hi prophetlady,
I know what you mean. I was on the verge of tears all day. Sad for the people of London affected by this attack, angry at the culprits, and afraid of what this means for our country.
Just when it seemed people in this country were starting to wake up...
As for your co-worker, and all the limbaugh, hannitys, etc. that think the same way, the hell with them. They, not us, are the traitors. To support all of the atrocities carried out in our names is incomprehensible to me. They are the ones needing slapped!
Most Americans don't care about the "whys", only results. RE: Slapping doesn't help

Prophet Lady,

Hugs. You have my sympathies. Your first order of business is to keep yourself safe. That means closing your mind to the screaming meemies on the boob tube.

I just cancelled my cable tv service today. If I want to watch TV, I will use an old-fashioned antenna to pull in local channels. Even then, I will not watch network news because of the propaganda. I save money, and spare myself the psychological damage of watching it (and the irritation of paying for services I cannot watch!)

As for co-workers, I have the same problems, and I'm from a 'Blue State'! Everyone around here talks, with fresh enthusiasm, about 'getting the terrorists' who bombed London. If it takes forever ... So I avoid them.

Worse for me, however, is my sister's Stepford-like transformation, post 9/11. Absolutely did a 180. She proclaims herself a Conservative supporter of W and 'hopes to be one until she dies.'

She idolizes Ann Coulter, actually thinks the woman is brilliant, patriotic, and deserves the world's respect.

She also watches Sean Hannity on a nightly basis and agrees with 'almost' everything he says.

She has assimilated the neo-con message perfectly. Her eyes are vacant pools as she recites the litany:

*We must never forget 9/11. Someone must pay for that day.

*9/11 means we must fight terrorism around the world forever, if necessary.

*We can only be safe if President Bush leads us. All other leaders are suspect. Only he is brave enough.

*We must support the war in Iraq or we are not 'good Americans.'

*We must never criticize Chimpy. It is unpatriotic to do so. (a variation on the previous)

*There is no such thing as an 'unjust war' does since 9/11. Every middle-Easterner is fair game.

*Terrorists are not human. They only understand violence. Violence is what we must give them.

*Torturing terrorist suspects/detainees is okay. (*see previous.)

*Domestic issues must always take a back seat to the war on terror. (Free speech, civil liberties, Social Security, nuclear proliferation, legislation of women's reproductive choices, health care, etc. are unimportant because we may get blown up at any moment.)

*The ACLU is a Communist organization bent on taking over the world. (That one slayed me.)

*You are a traitor if you [insert just about anything].

One time, she said, "Liberals are traitors." I asked her what that made me? Answer: Ur, let's not talk politics.

She used to be clever, smart, open to all manner of ideas and philosophies. I realize she was traumatized when she watched CNN & FOX's coverage of 9/11 for two weeks straight, until she saw the towers falling in her sleep. Now, my little sister is brainwashed - a sheeple. So we do not talk politics, just to keep the peace. But I continue to be uncomfortable with her flag waving and war drum beating.

Rather than let it eat me alive, I try to meditate, read, write, take walks, hang with others of like mind, and I bear in mind that every pendulum swings backward.

To nourish my spirit, I light candles for peace, and pray that Americans like my sister, who live in fear, will find their way to Enlightenment and garner the courage to oust the Pretender Chimp.

Eventually, things will change. The London thing freaks me out because it told me just how far these people will go. And how much longer it will take to get them out.

Re: RE: Slapping doesn't help

Postby thrulookingglass » Fri Jul 08, 2005 10:55 am

I was in the same place of despair and destitution yesterday. Just when it appeared that there were cracks building in the "ptb's" architecture. Those who follow the mass-media's picture of circumstances are only shunting their eye's from the real horrors of human existence...multi-national corporate greed, political subjugation, environmental destruction, the decline of democracy and public dissent, the ever growing veil of neo-fascism. The psychologist's term is cognitive dissonance, but having a name for people's welcoming of mass deception doesn't ease the pain. Basically, those who believe that "they hate our freedom" pseudo-philosophy lack and adequate understanding of real human history. Do they know of Allende in Chile, and does the CIA/US involvment give Chileans cause to invade our country? What about America's continuous terrorist acts against Cuba? Arbenz in Guatemala? Propped up Noriega in Panama, Haiti, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia...the list goes on and on. And, let us not forget the suffering/genocide instigated by "our great founding fathers" towards Native Americans. We should be glad we see things as they are, not as we would like them to be. Bob Marley captured it in lyric "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds."

Empathy and Sympathy

Postby Connut » Fri Jul 08, 2005 10:58 am

Thanks for generating such a flood of positive responses with your post, Prophetlady. I was so angry when I heard the news and the bleating of Blair. We know who started all this, and with his obviously perverted moral standards, it would be no surprise if someone out there was taking revenge. Sadly, it's all a coverup for Bush and an attempt to salvage Blair. I agree with all the previous posts, and just wanted to add that I've been making Tower Busters a la Don Croft, and took satisfaction of "busting" three new radio towers. It made me feel like I was doing something positive and retaliatory against the lizards. Check out educate-yourself.org/ and see if something appeals to you - we all feel better when we can take action! In the meantime, turn the slap into a lap, either to cuddle someone or be cuddled. Love and laughter are the right response - peace, Connut

It is so nice to know that I am not alone, and that there are sane and reasonable people out there who are only a few keystrokes away. Thank you, so much. Stay safe and stay well.

Neocon List: What True Americans Believe c/o Morgan...

Postby Starman » Fri Jul 08, 2005 7:58 pm

Heyia Morgan;

Oh-My-Dog.

The 'list' of beliefs your sister has absorbed and assimiliated, probably quite typical of the core-beliefs of the unwttingly-deluded, dumbed-down infotainment-addicted/disinfo-addled rightwing follow-the-leader sheeple masses blew me away -- I understood the gist of it having occasionally debated with dyed-in-the-wool True Believers on forums and in-person, but seeing the totality of such extremist ideology at-odds with my progressive-reformist-cynical neo-Marxist optimistic-fatalist worldview blew-me-away at the compelling evidence of a long-term mind-conditioning experiment to reprogram the public masses.

How else to explain the phenomenon of the popularity and appeal of such hyper-reactionary extremist thinking and adoption of such pseudo-conservative beliefs that are SO fundamentally at-odds with actual history and American basic values and against the legitimate interests of We, The People -- it's enough to leave me dismayed at the sheer immensity of the project to restore human rights and social justice since so many people have been manipulated by incredibly sophisticated mass-media influence-techniques to abandon critical thinking for the comfort and convenience of being 'told' what is 'right' and wrong.

Thank GOODness you and your sister have reached a graceful accomodation to avoid rancor -- though I commiserate with the despair you feel about seeing your sister gravitate towards the Dark Side, without seeing the bigger picture of traitors and criminals within our midst..

Ditto on the Thanks Connut expressed for all the wonderful comments and suggestions on this thread that Prophet Lady inspired -- it IS good to know others share one's concerns over the madness and brutalities and lies of the difficult age we live in. Keep the Faith, be strong, Peace All!
Starman

Hey Starman,

Yeah, it's pretty tough to see the hard evidence of the MSM mind-control experiments.

As I said, my sister was not always this way. She was never very political, however, and this is the first time in her life that she has listened to 'news analysts' tell her what to think. Hannitized as she is, my sister cannot recognize blatant propaganda, never mind the subtler spins that play on repetive keywords and phrases. And because I am the enemy, she cannot listen to me. Too much conflict. She gets upset and has no place to put her rage. It is heartbreaking, and disturbing. Frankly, I sometimes entertain the fantasy of calling a cult de-programmer to kidnap her until she comes out of it!

Meanwhile, friends ...

I am grateful we have each other here. Yes, Prophet Lady, we must keep talking and lending support to one another. Isolation kills the spirit. (I won't get into the larger metaphor about America's spirit, but this Board is pretty much mind-melded, so I don't think I have to.)

Connut, I agree wholeheartedly that we need more laughter! I spent all evening listening to bloody ABBA!

I'm a huge fan of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and when I put that movie in the DVD player, I go off into another world. Evil cannot exist when you are laughing.

(Call me cheeky, but I just spent some amusing moments blogging about ABBA and Priscilla. )

Love and blessings to all --
Morgan
