Paul is dead

In responding about Tavistock on another thread, I came across this link from several years back: Paul is dead

Here's some. There are pictures, too.

Sunday 11th September 1966, Evening

and Paul were returning from their trip in good spirits.
It had been a wonderful time.
After John's notorious phrase which had instigated the storm in the world against the Beatles and the turmoil over the "butcher album" cover, everything seemed to have returned back to a normal routine.

And Paul had had a sudden burst of extraordinary creativity over a very short period of time, perhaps as a reaction to all that had happened.

It had been a typically seasonal rainy day.
At a semaphore stop a van suddenly cut across the street, blocking the car and Paul were in.
The car didn't quite stop in time and hit the van, but not seriously enough to do any real damage.
They expected to discuss what had happened with the occupants of the other vehicle but instead men dressed in black appeared from the van and grabbed , Paul and one of the girls who happened to be with them at the time and forced them into another car that had turned up in the meantime.
The second girl who was with them, however, had the presence of mind to run away.

The morning afterwards, not knowing what had happened, we tried to call and Paul but strangely we couldn't get hold of them.
We retraced their steps through our common friends but nobody had seen or heard from them.
We were on the telephone all day.

And then the next day the police phoned to tell us that they had a girl with them confirming that and Paul had been kidnapped.
Ringo was the first one to arrive where the kidnapping had taken place; the vehicles were empty.
The girl told us what had happened.
We began to panic.
John became hysterical and we didn't know what to think or what to do.
But we were able to suppress the story from the Wednesday newspapers thanks to some acquaintances of ours.
We had directly contacted the intelligence service who understood the gravity of the situation and the social ramifications if word got out.
They told us that they would take care of everything.
All we had to do was to continue our daily routine and keep all our previously appointed business engagements.
We waited for the kidnappers to contact us, a ransom demand of some sort.
Time passed and nothing happened.
As more days passed, our apprehension grew.

It was the Tuesday of the following week when we received the call, but not the one we had been waiting for.
We were called out in order to identify Paul's body.
At the time John was in Paris and George was in India. They immediately returned home.
Paul was found at the foot of a hill, a little distance from a white Volkswagen.

I was a fervent "Paul-is-dead" believer back in the day... --MaryK

maryk, you posted something about that a couple of months ago and sent me on an hours long trip across the 'net. I had never heard the Paul is dead rumors- I was 3 years old in '66- but boy, was I fascinated! And now I am convinced as well. Those pictures! You can't deny the differences, or the evidence of plastic surgery. The clues in the songs are the clincher. The only question I have is- Why did the Beatles go along with it? Was it just for the money?

Maryk I can't get your link to work- I don't think I had read your particular article.
Here are two of mine:

catless.ncl.ac.uk/Obituary/paul.html

www.slamdance.com/2001/fe...ilm_id=139 ( this one concerns a movie "Paul is Dead" which seems to incorporate all the clues)

MaryK,
Can't get your link to work (just like darkbeforedawn's--what's going on, anybody?) but I googled "Paul is dead rumors" (with quotation marks) and got 558 "hits". Try this link for the googlesearch: tinyurl.com/rfbv4

I remember the rumors well; there were supposed to be all kinds of clues that it was true: Paul's the only barefoot member of the group crossing the street on the front of one of their albums (Name?). And he's the one with his back turned in another photo (Same album?). Who still has their old LPs though?

Peter, the album you are referring to is Abbey Road.

Also, I did have a link in my favorites to the site maryk is referring to- a must must read! Photo comparisons are totally convincing.

digilander.libero.it/jamespaul/fc1.html

I'm sitting here thinking, "What difference does "this" all make now"? And there is something...something...
Being an old geezer, I remember well the Beatles. And how their music was on its way to transmogrifying the world. These guys sang of love, and getting stoned, and peace on earth...at the height of the Vietnam War. And, were the PTB scared of these guys? Enough to kill one of them and replace him with a look-alike?

And then, what does the look-alike do?

Click on The Beatles - Breakup (home.att.net/~chuckayoub/...p_1.html), which includes this quote: "What broke up the Beatles was Paul's public announcement on April 10th, 1970, that the Beatles would never work together again, and the subsequent lawsuit he filed against the other three on December 31, 1970."

...Here's Lennon talking about the split. He was the first to jump. Allan Klein and McCartney were relieved that he chose not to announce it right away:

youtube.com/watch?v=tAiTl...n%20lennon

Do you really think Lennon is lying in this interview? Seems to me the man was almost pathologically truthful. If you're looking for a secret history of the Beatles, maybe you should start with Mark Chapman.

The fact remains: Paul initiated legal action to dissolve the Beatles.

www.beatles-discography.c...-case.html

www.mirror.co.uk/news/all..._page.html

~snip~

Perhaps the biggest comedown of all came as the group imploded at the end of the 60s when McCartney sued the other Beatles to dissolve the band.

"It was 10 years of hell," he says. "What followed was that everyone was split into camps.

"There were three of them and one of me. John, George and Ringo had been my best mates.

"Now they were my enemies. That was really, really hard to take.

~snip~

www.hellomagazine.com/pro...accartney/

One could go on and on. The point is that no matter who left first "informally" Paul made it official and in the process, separated himself from the other three-they were enemies, with Paul by himself on one side.

Here is a debunking site which practically debunks itself! Go there and you'll see what I mean. ( for instance, several of the "fade" photos actually employs two "Faul" photos!)

www.tlcgraphic.com/paul.html

Think about the possible future irony of Paul being the last surviving Beatle.

if you've ever sceen the video of the recoring of Hey Bulldog (February 11, 1968 ) , it's hard for me to believe that John would be KNOWINGLY singing next to a changeling Paul. Those two in that video are surely old friends going off as only real people could, can't believe John would not only go along with an imposter but become so close?

Still, I can't completely get the possibility out of my head... that kidnaping story seems so real...

Here's the video, it's SO good. This is probably my number one fav beatles song, spine tingling.
youtube vid

Edited by: anotherdrew at: 3/13/06 11:13 pm

Not a new theory by any means. There are many clues, false or not, in old Beatles albums and circulating among the fans.

A great Communication professer I had in a course called "Understanding Media" had a whole section on the Paul is Dead phenomena. He never expressed an overt opinon in class, but from later conversations I'm relatively confident he subscribes to the idea.

There's a cryptic "Occult Beatles" link at total411.info which often delves into the Paul is Dead idea. The author of the site also has some intriguing postings dealing with Paul and "Faul."

I've explored the idea quite a bit,and it has a definite ring of deep politics, with John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and a potential Sir Faul McCartney.

The Beatles really were 'bigger than God' in many ways. They had an immense sway over the American public. Thousands of girls and boys went crazy when they performed their early pop hits in the U.S.

Later, as the music became political and developed a political influence and the band began to experiment with drugs, explore religion, they became a serious threat to the PTB and many things "the system" stands for, regardless of the fate of the 'real' Paul McCartney.

I'm not utterly convinced Paul is Dead, but if I were a betting man, and not just a cynic, I wouldn't put my trust or my cash on a knight of England.

Lennon is dead, and that story itself has mysteries to fill a volume.
