I was raised suburban white middle class. So in a way, the past 6 years when I have been homeless twice has been a real education for me. Now, I'm much poorer than my parents ever where (or hoped I would be) and I live in an urban environment. It's been an education... and probably better than anything the Aspen Inst. could give.<br><br>Volunteer at a shelter if you want to learn a few things. Of course what you get out of it depends on what you put in. <p></p><i></i>
