Next Hurricane - Rita - RRRR??

Tropical Storm Rita is expected to be a hurricane by Tuesday when it is on course to enter the Gulf of Mexico. While there are no projections much beyond Tuesday, the CNN weatherman said the hurricane will probably head more west than Katrina and landfall will be in Texas. The weatherman also noted that the waters around the FL Keys (which have already been instructed to evacuate) are still extremely warm, registering around 88 degrees, making it quite possible that Rita will become another very dangerous hurricane.

I have lived in the South most of my life and never remember a hurricane that began with "R". What is going on? I currently live in South Texas, near Houston. I am feeling sick as I watch this new storm develop. Will we be the next devastated area? And I have to say, I am nearing the end of my rope here. I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks as I've worked and worked to help with the local Katrina relief efforts. I finally broke down Friday night, after working at a local shelter. I held this little boy, under the age of 2 who was so precious, and I could feel the tension in his little body. He clung to me as we sat together. I couldn't find his mother for the longest time and he couldn't talk to tell me who she was. When I finally found her, she was in such a state that she didn't respond to my questions, either - just stared at me as I handed him to her. I can't take much more of this.

And I have this awful feeling that Rita will be another storm of great devastation. What will we do?

How ironic would it be if all those evacuees from NOLA who ended up in Houston got hit again by Rita.....grrrrr. this is sickening.

Col - I had the same thought but couldn't bring myself to write it. All of this talk of "engineered storms" - I found myself thinking, "they" really want to wipe us out don't they? If Katrina didn't get you, Rita will...

And then when these thoughts go through my head, I start to think I'm really losing it. But the stories I've heard, how I've seen the displaced people treated, how they have been dispersed and the numbers have been tweaked. Maybe it is enough to drive one over the brink.

Nevermind that...if it hits New Orleans.......

DE - You are right that if Rita would hit New Orleans, it would be unbelievable. While it is still too early to tell, for what ever reason, the weatherman said it is not projected to head that direction. Rita is coming into the Gulf further south with a more west-bound path. He said at this time the best guess is Texas. Texas has a large Gulf coastline - so that could mean even much further west than Houston. We can only wait and see.

I struggle with hoping "not here" as that means I hope someone else gets it. There are areas of Texas Gulf coast with very little population - can we hope it goes there?

Corpus Christi is in that area, and it is not a small town - but it's not like New Orleans.

Rita: Off-the-wall thought, or perhaps not?

It suddenly hit me -- this talk about a possible 'another' destructive hurricane entering the warm waters of the Gulf, potentially aimed for a Texas landfall --

Isn't there a bill pending before Congress on authorizing weather engineering? IF Rita provides a close call, or even, tragically, causes masive storm damage, wouldn't the public be in a mood to back the Fed's weather-modification program, even IF it's highly experimental and potentially dangerous? Let ALONE suggestions that weather-mod has been ongoing for perhaps 20 years (that is, beyond just cloud-seeding to break droughts and create rainfall), perhaps including CREATING huge storms as a warfare tool, etc. There's obviously LOTS we don't know and that is being kept secret by a government-- and interests connected with it, like the military Industrial Complex and Intelligence Services -- that uses National Security as a shield -- even withholding information from Congress and the Executive and Judicial Branches.

After the incredible destruction, loss-of-life and suffering caused by Katrina (and aggravated by the official's criminal negligence) and followed by Rita, esp. if it causes major damage and loss of life, I bet, with the right PR 'spin', the public will be clammoring for 'the government' to DO SOMETHING! So, HAARP will be authorized to make full use of its atmospheric-heating potential and financed for some unGodly sum, while being absolved of all responsibility for past, present and future consequences, intended or not -- we know the drill. Another fleece job (or snow job? --sick pun).

No doubt, this could be rolled into support for chemtrails/barium-salt seeding to increase the earth's albedo, ie. planetary reflectance, in order to forestall or reverse the potential global warming effects of increased CO2 in the atmosphere -- as HAARP's microwave effects are potentiated by atmospheric modification with salts and other metallic particles.

I sure wouldn't put it past 'em.
Starman

Many of us in our group have been predicting this very thing. We believe that some storms HAVE been engineered for this very purpose... problem/reaction/solution. What an old trick.

And the oil and natural gas companies are making the big bucks, as well, so follow the money.

It has become so serious that we're not wanting to call our devices "cloudbusters" or especially "chembusters" any more. This whole movement toward "legalizing" weather modification wouldn't have been necessary if not for us and people like us, who have been fighting (and winning) the battle aganst chemtrails. --MaryK

all these storms must be pumping a lot of hot air into the upper atmosphere, where I would hope it will cool, and settle. I seem to remember reading once about massive downwellings of super-cold air like the kind of event that froze the mamoths solid with freshly eaten food undigested and flash-frozen in their stomachs. Perhaps massive tropical storms lead to an imbalance of too much cold air up high, which can sink down suddenly. It's a theory...

i cant help myself i suppose, just have to thow in my little bit on the subject,
nothing i have read on any site in the last month or so, and nothing i have read in the us government bill about to be introduced or the defence papers on weather modification have convinced me that storm steering or control is possible. i just dont believe it.
the idea that the upper atmosphere can be bent with heat makes sense, and the fact that planes are spraying chemicals in the atmosphere, possibly to try and look at weather phenomena makes sense, but steering hurricanes, EM bombs shot between sovereign states,
i just think that there is not a shred of evidence to suggest that it is happening.
if i were steering katrina i would have made sure it hit new orleans, i would have planned my levee destruction in a much more professional way, i would have created a distraction for fema to justify the slow response and resort to military force option, i would have personally responded calculatedly to boost my stature in the event not diminish it, i would ahve agreed to increase spending on levees to cover such an event knowing that it would never occur but i would look good.
i mean honestly, if bush is a patsy, cheney is fuck knows what, greenspan is in with bush, military is half loyal, who the hell is pulling the strings, who the hell is directing weather modification against continental united states,
the theories are more like spaghetti than interlocking threads on a strong rope
