I'm with Joe on this one: Putin's snickering comments about rape could have been made by 7 out of 10 males in these circumstances, if they thought nobody could hear them. Maybe he was trying to establish a sort of macho camraderie, trying to get his guests to relax. My comment about elite deviance was in response to the article on Putin's reported behavior on the rafting trip that was discussed in the Counterpunch article. <br><br>As to Putin's off-handed comments on rape- the man is a head of state. His remarks were made at an official function in the company of others representing governments, which are imbued with powers and responsibilities that behoove them to conduct themselves at a more civilized and compassionate manner than the "average bloke" misogynists of the world. <p></p><i></i>
