Strange story was covered on the local Cleveland News this weekend. The story was relayed to me about this cell phone in the lost and found at a west side Home Depot. From what I understand, the first reports were quite a bit more detailed than what has been reported on Monday. Here are the only reports I've been able to dig up on the internet. this NewsNet5 piece was also run word for word on the MSNBC site. Ok so that's all I could find in print....problem is... the police were downplaying this today, saying they didn't know if charges could be brought. So, now back to that early report over the weekend....They had a longer report that said ... It was acually a camera phone...and that the images were of a man having sex with an 8 year old girl among many other images....and here's the kicker....they said the man was Government or the phone was traced back to a person in Government... that's the part of the story that got dissapeared real quick. I wonder if the Home Depot worker saved the serial # from that phone before turning it over?

do places like Home Depot check their lost and found every day? how long do cell-phone charges last? i mean, the articles say the employee "discovered" the phone, not that it was handed to them right then. how did it get in the lost and found? seems like it would have been looked at right away, if it was ever handed to an employee. just wondering about the whole thing. weird, and awful.

...from my ex-boyfriend's house--and he works for the city of Cleveland and has for 25 years! Dammit, too bad he's not speaking to me or I'd pick his brain on this one. Cleveland has always had a dirty, corrupt city government, regardless of who was in office; you name it, it went on there--but I've never heard of anything related to pedophilia.

Computers, Camera Taken From Owner Of Porn Phone's Home Arrest Warrant Issued For Pandering Obscenities UPDATED: 7:32 pm EST November 22, 2005 CLEVELAND -- An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for the owner of cell phone found at Home Depot earlier this month. Cleveland police said the phone, found Nov. 11 at the West 117th Street Home Depot, contained pictures of child pornography, NewsChannel5 reported. Officers want to speak with Larry M. Pratt, the owner of the phone, but have not been able to locate him after checking his three Cleveland properties. Pratt is wanted on a warrant for pandering obscenities involving a minor, a second-degree felony. The Sex Crime and Child Abuse Unit executed three warrants since Friday searching for evidence. Investigators confiscated 10 computer towers from Pratt's properties, and NewsChannel5 sources confirmed that a bedroom camera was also taken from his rental house on Guthrie Road. Next-door neighbor Roy Rose said he's not surprised, saying that Pratt had a video camera he used to tape people on the street outside the home. Police said Pratt's Madison home was just listed as a hostel, which offers discount rooms for travelers passing through Cleveland. Police said a Google search of Pratt's address shows the house listed on Hostelz.com, and that those renting are welcome to bring their children. I wonder if thats what they mean by "city officials"...It doesn't get more official than that...
