<!--EZCODE AUTOLINK START--><a href="http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,20158136-5001028,00.html">www.news.com.au/dailytele...28,00.html</a><!--EZCODE AUTOLINK END--><br><br>Dead man 'part of pedophile ring'<br>August 17, 2006 12:00<br><br>An Australian man who committed suicide in Indonesia was allegedly part of a pedophile ring linked to a language school funded by the Australian government.<br><br>The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) has confirmed a Sydney man, 54, died in Indonesia's second largest city, Surabaya, on Tuesday.<br><br>But a department spokesman refused to confirm the identity of the man, reported in Fairfax papers to be director of studies of the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) Don Hancock.<br><br>The spokesman did say foreign affairs "understands the man worked at the IALF".<br><br>Fairfax papers say the man's body was found in a hotel room along with a quantity of pills. The report also says the door of the room was locked from the inside.<br><br>AusAid, the government's foreign aid organisation, would not confirm any details of the incident or if it funded the IALF. <p></p><i></i>
