I find your Mcarthyite obsession with my opinions to be quite flattering. Thanks for caring.

If it's not for my sake, then if your fear of the virulence of even the most crude, pan-glossian Marxist analysis like "proldic's" is such that you must devote more space to trying to discredit me than anyone else on the board, it makes me think I might be on to something. Thanks for the clue, better keep drinking from the gourd.

Your last post was so deeply angry, the assumptions were so frequent and wrong, and my responses would have taken more time and psychic energy than I wish right now -- and frankly I wouldn't really care as I think a lot of people see you for what you are (and that's not bad, mind you, just your political web personality), but whatever. Anyone I do care about knows you've got a grudge because I pulled it out and then called you out back on the JTG thread.

First, obviously you are very smart, and self-motivated, and a good writer. I agree with many of your analyses. But...I mean this not as a feckless dig, but what you haven't learned is how not to be so blatantly drippingly pompous. You're cold. You have issues that scream through your erudition. Military dad, huh? Pentagon Dad, even. Hmmmm...Not to say that means anything in and of itself, both my parents are military veterans, just hypothesizing. Why do you strut like a peacock with Joe Mcarthy's head?

Much of what you have to say is correct. Much of what you attack and deny is also true. It's ironic, in another place I think we might have a lot in common. I am/was a supporter of the Tom Paine Society, and a close associate of libertarians throughout the east coast, mainly due to the prison/justice/drug policy movement. If I named some people I've had a chance to rap with, you might have even heard of them. I've also been close social friends with the 60-something former chairman of the Libertarian Party in an east-coast state due to my work in initiative & charter reform movement, and I helped to apply for assistance from and received funding from the I&R Institute in Washington. Then I worked to promote the fully informed jury act for almost 4 years at my own detriment within the left scene, with the zoning board, and almost ruined me financially as well.

Oh, and the 100%-libertarian funded group FEAR (Forfeiture Erodes American Rights) sponsored me to work during the Hyde amendment push. And there's more.

Point is, I always got on well, I'm not all "proldic" just as I'd hope you are not such a bitter iconclast that you're not all "robertreed". Oh, wait you are. Anyway, you're so obviously more virulent anti-communist than libertarian it's (not) even funny.

Now, as to Moonshine, I happen to know something -- personally -- about the situation, and beyond what I've said already, I'll post on it when I know more, which is delayed for a bit. But there are other issues involved besides your stalking campaign.

First, I was trying to be sensitive. There is some victim shit here, trust me. She's obviously reading this. I don't blame-the-victims, but it's ridiculous to say I won't "hold the perps responsible". I wasn't trying to defend Moonshine's work, I'm opposed to it, it was just a clinical observation, just pointing out that she's involved in a more advanced level of that "scene", as sick as it is, one that understands DIY in this here America goes beyond backyard organic gardens and dumpster-diving. I'm not immunizing her from any guilt, in fact I'm very upset by her. But I'm talking about the larger picture here. This is a result of capitalism, but you don't have to be anti-capitalist to see it.

You have obviously misinterpret me badly -- your idea about how I feel about those people is way off base.

I don't blame her state for "dabbling in left politics", don't be ridiculous. Sometimes I wonder about your intellectual honesty when you get angry, RR. I'm talking about something much different, this is a connected scene, but not a direct outgrowth of it. If anything it's more akin to the stuff that Jeff writes about.

You of anybody should be able to read between the lines. So shut your fuckin' yap trap until you know more, and go write about some real threats.

I don't know what the "JTG thread" is. Hermeneutics

Postby robertdreed » Wed Oct 19, 2005 11:29 pm

Here's what I find interesting about XXXpose- it appears in the post-Rumsfeld "American Torture Exceptionalism" era.

The Shadow emerges...what's the U.S.A. going to do about it? Is Attorney General Gonzalez- who went through the motions of retracting his "torture memo" pertaining to a policy that remains in place- really serious about his impending crackdown on pornography that condones torture and sadism? Or is that simply more arch-hypocrisy, in light of the actions of the "New U.S. Military" (post-Aquino/Vallely)? How much headway does he think he'll make, in light of all the ammunition supplied to the other side by acts of official government policy? Is there a "free speech" donnybrook brewing that is bound to result in more free publicity for XXXpose.com?

Edited by: robertdreed at: 10/19/05 9:46 pm
