Off this subject, but in relation to another story on your blog area (never been there before, but I read fast).

The playful bouncy light things, can indeed be "summoned" they even have a name in practical occultism.

Crowley was trying to summon them when his wife had the experience that led to his "book of the law".

The New Agers might call them fairies. They seem to like people, although they tend towards mischieviousness. I tend to think of their behavior as being similar to untrained puppies or unspolit children.
I am generally loathe to admit that I have encountered them on more than one occassion, and that they can most certainly be "summoned".

You won't get any useful information about the practical techniques of Crow's system from McMurty or the "official" OTO. They tend to dislike this sort of discussion and go to great pains to avoid disclosure of the extent of their belief, even to their own members. Some of Crowley's less encountered and more heavily "policed" writings hint in this direction.

---------------

As to this subject:

It is highly unlikely that their intentions are those that are given. Interrogation/Deterrence. Studies have shown that physical torture and sexual intimidation are poor ways to permanently achieve either. As it is somewhat unlikely that the PTB in Intelligence, DO NOT know this, we can assume that these are not their goals.
