What she said, in fact, was that someone from the fire department said "we're going to have to bring it down". But the fire department doesn't do that? That would point to the built-in explosives theory we've been discussing, I think. If it was explosives planted specifically for 9/11, then I doubt the fire department would be in on it, or talk about it casually like that if they were. I also can't see the point in placing explosives in #7, if you were going to demolish the Twin Towers.

I'm more inclined to think that Indira misunderstood what was said there. She does say, first, "they told us Building 7 was coming down", which several firefighters have testified they feared it would, because of the extensive damage to the south face, the fires, and the "creaking" sounds coming from it.

In any case, if there were built-in explosives as a safety measure in WTC7, and the NYFD knew this, and made the decision to demolish, then so what? It was probably the right decision to make, if they feared it would collapse anyway. Not exactly a smoking gun for anything.

On edit: But then, why go to such great lengths to cover it up. It doesn't really make sense any which way you slice it.

Edited by: Qutb at: 11/17/05 11:37 am
