I saw his name appear on a good article, brought in one of the comments to the recent blog post on fascists (and the not so secret anymore, prison in Israel). The person mentioned in the article, is the former deputy chief of Shabak (Israel internal security services), mr. gideon ezra. (Who since retirement joined the government via likkud).
Gideon Ezra is consistently supporting the Madonna Berg Cult, and has been known to develop an interest in occult (astrology, energy healing, channeling and what not). He is the perfect candidate to supervise a sadistic hell-like prison, such as 1391. (not that the others, former chiefs, are humanitarians).
--
The attempt to expose the prison to public scrutiny, led by MK Zahava Galon, failed, after the Knesset chose to accept the prison's own reports that it is complying with human rights norms.

However, the case of Diranni is not "going away" for now, specifically the rape charges which have been de facto confirmed. But the claim for damages is now pending. The AG of ISrael submitted a statement to the high court, objecting to any payment of monetary "tort" damages to people who are enemies of Israel. (??). Lawyer for Diranni is attorney Zvi Resh who I believe is former Shabak worker himself, with some qualms as to the level of conduct in his former workplace.

Last week, a small report in the media confirmed the final settlement of 10 claims for damages based on "torture", by palestinians. The cases were finally settled out of court, with no admission but with a total payment of some 25000 $ for each victim. (very low payment, considering also it was not attached to the rate of interest, and ten years are a long time, and considering the lawyers will probably eat up a chunk).
this was considered a precedent as Israel never admitted torture and never paid damages before. however, the victory is not great, as you can see.
