Election are due in three days, nothing new and little expectations. This is going to be a record low on number of voters in Israel, no wonder because politics died here.
Most likely result is Kadima taking around 1/3 the house and Ulmart as PM, inviting Labor with about 1/6 the house and Shas (MIzrahi Ultra Orthodox) and possibly the new Lieberman racist party, attracting Russian votes in favor of "transfer".
---
Since our political system has been entirely taken over by US elements and some European political bodies - the issue of platforms has become redundant. practically, each party says - we are the reps of ...(white house/Dems/european social democrats/christian zionist/ etc.) we are committed to follow our sponsors' dictates. stay tuned.
--
Voting becomes purely a matter of financial affiliations, and since about 1/4 the population is not directly financed by a partisan affiliate, they are not going to bother voting, same here, btw.
--
Next years' plans, therefore, if nothing major happens in the USA or worldwide are - tough hand in territories, scare parades within Israeli arab places, talks about more unilateral disengagement while securing total military and financial control over "liberated" parts of palestine. Iran, heavy on the agenda, whatever washington says, we'll do. More IMF dictates on economy (more privatization and "opening up markets" creating a sizable polulation of destitute people, dying in private prisons which are now being built by Lev Levayev and other Oligarchs). Not a pretty sight.
--
This is all leading (not this moment but if it continues with this intertia a few years more) to escalatoin of violence here, with eruptions within Israel proper. Prospects for improvement in the next 20 years is ZERO (unless one belives in miracles, second coming and what not).
--
Antisemitism will be on the rise, and Israel will try to capitalize on it, by bringing in more affluent, educated immigrants from western countries. Crime and corruption will be on the rise for a while, before it becomes a priority here enough to do something about it.
