Two days ago, an invetigation committee headed by a judge and under special powers, issued a warning to virtually the entire israeli police management (Chief and deputies, several heads of wings, and two DA) that the are warned and suspect of corruption, and are advised to hire lawyers to defend them. As a result, most of the police management is going to be replaced and today a 100 unsolved murder cases were re-opened under suspicion of "mafia collaboration" in the investigation.<br>The investigation started following a media EXpose, implying illicit connections between a major crime family and the top of the police in Israel. Apparently, several police detectives were "hit men" of this mafia, and also prevented any investigation of this family and its friends. The corruption reached as high as the Chief of police, the chief of internal affairs, who are all among the warned individuals.
