Sorry I'm late to this.<br>One point I'd like to add to the earlier discussion. And that is that the brain has been found to act as a Bose-Einstein condensate.<br><br>Think superconductivity.<br><br>When certain elements are cooled close to absolute zero they are found to exhibit peculiar properties. One is zero electrical resistance "superconductivity".<br><br>The reason this happens is that what were disparate molecules with their own randomness effectively line up and become as one, moving as one. Think of a group of soldiers marching past, moving as one.<br><br>The fact that the brain has been found to act in this way at room temperatures is exiting for two reasons.<br><br>First, it may explain how a single personality emerges from the complex system of complex systems that is the human being.<br><br>Second, it may point the way to superconductors that do not require cooling, and so are enormously cheaper to produce.<br><br>Guess which one gets the funding? <p></p><i></i>
