the UFO crash

Postby maggrwaggr » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:10 am

The UFO crash footage is obviously something really crashing, but there's no reason to believe it's a UFO. As someone else mentioned, it looks a lot like military test footage.

My guess is that it's film of a military test where something didn't work quite right. It's in the desert, where such tests normally take place, shot with an extreme telephoto lens, and the camera work is very smooth, as if shot professionally. When one uses an extreme telephoto lens, it's really difficult to follow something moving very quickly and unexpectedly. Whoever shot this knew exactly where this thing was going and was in no way surprised by its movement.

Ditto on Hoagland.

On crop circles and UFO's. Lots of games being played. Here's a site of people who claim to be making many of them. They even give some detailed plans so you can make sophisticated designs yourself. As far as I know, this group has never announced a design in advance, so I don't think they are credible. It would be pretty simple. Take a pic of a field before the circle is made with identifying characteristics so that it's easy to match up with the post pic.

They make the circles, they claim, at night (so as not to get caught) so they can't take pics of the actual work maybe, but a before and after would convince me.

www.circlemakers.org

When I first saw a video featuring some of these guys (there was one that got on TV where they follow them making a circle in one evening) I was struck by a sort of military vibe I got from them. Needless to say, me getting a "military vibe" off someone is not exactly the same thing as "proof" of anything.

However, and I've mentioned it before, at the end of the dvd "Crop Circles" from a few years ago, there's a very long scene where Colin Andrews and some friends go to a circle and are buzzed by military helicopters. It's very clear, there is no question it is happening. They persist and film a small, glowing or highly reflective object moving around the field being monitored by the helicopter.

What do we make of this? That it's a military object? Nah...the military has plenty of bases they could do this on without drawing attention. That it's a phenomenon that the military is monitoring? could be...why the secrecy? That it's a phenomenon that they actually WANT people to think is "alien"? That's possible too, I guess, and the whole helicopter thing could have been staged.

Meanwhile, Andrews went on to describe a very long story of being contacted by a guy claiming to be CIA...the story is creepy because the guy is creepy. He says that one by one, all his associates are going to get out of the crop circle field and that at that time they are going to ask him to keep doing what he's doing except one time, they wanted him to debunk crop circles. Hearing him tell the story, it sure sounds true...lots of weird details. Anyway, Andrews went on to claim that "80%" of crop circles are fake but the interview was after he did that and he denies that this pronouncement was because of the CIA guy, whom he freely talks about. (the 80% figure is pretty subjective...he offers no evidence). Oh, and all his associates in the field did really drop out.

I mention all this, because it's important to keep in mind that whatever the reality of UFO's and crop circles, there are people playing very sophisticated games. Go to the circlemakers website. Very slick..but notice these odd instructions for making your own circle:

Quote:

Choose location depending upon visibility. A field rising up from the road, or a natural amphitheatre in full view of the road, make perfect circles sites.

Dowse potential location to establish earth energies. If a formation is located on a powerful ley-line this will satisfy later tests for genuineness, and aid in curative effects, healings, orgone accumulation, angelic visions, benign alien abduction experiences, and feelings of general well-being. WARNING - If the formation is situated contra-directionally to the flow of energy, this may result in the opposite effects; headaches, nausea, temporary limb-paralysis, aching joints, mental illness, deadly-orgone-radiation (DOR) exposure, demonic visions, negative abduction scenarios (memory loss, implant scarring, sore or bleeding anii, navels, and genitals, etc), and general disillusionment. With no condonement by the authors, this may be of interest to satanists.

Plan design to incorporate earth energies. Some of you may decide to work from a diagram, while others may wish to rely upon spontaniety... this is purely a matter of preference. Remember that a diagram may not be easily read in total darkness - it is important not to use a torch as this may be spotted by nearby crop watchers.

Once location and design have been decided, retire to a local pub and wait for darkness. If the location is in a well known circles-prone area you may be able to pick up useful intelligence on the plans of the crop watchers (cerealogists). These cerealogists are often very public about their intentions, freely giving information on their own view-points, hide-outs, equipment (whether or not they have access to infra-red image intensifiers, CB radio operating channels, etc. They often even divulge where they are putting their own circles, which may prove useful. It is not advisable to actually talk to these people as inwardly- spiralling arguments invariably develop which will eat into the time you have allotted to real circle-making. This might lead to a smaller event, therefore defeating the object of your argument.

The Drop Off
After ensuring that you haven't been followed from the pub, drive to the field and unload the roller and stalk-stomper (the measuring tape can be carried in a pocket or rucksack). Be careful to leave the equipment in a place easily recognisable in darkness - near a gate or large bush, for instance. Then drive to a sensible place and park. It is worth remembering that an empty vehicle may arouse suspicion if it's left in a lay-by or farm track, or lazily by the side of the field. Our own advice is to park in the nearest village close to other vehicles. Then, quietly and invisibly walk back to the field.

Creating the Formation
You will have already decided in your planning where in the field to start your formation. Move to this point using the relevant tram, or tractor line. REMEMBER - Criminal damage is an offence! Do not move through a field without using the tram-lines.

Ritual
Before starting, a simple ritual should be performed. Whilst not obligatory, this ritual will assist in causing minimal damage to individual stalks while the crop is being laid. Using a long, curved, razor-sharp blade, cut seven single stalks for every circle planned for the formation. Place each one between thumb and forefinger and stroke until the stem starts to bend. When the stems are bent at a right angle about two inches from their base, place each sheaf at the centre of each proposed circle. If this service is not performed, a greater ratio of breakage will occur. Cerealogists who find a sheaf of sharply cut stems within the finished formation tend to automatically see this as a sign of genuineness*.

*There is a belief amongst certain circle-makers that fashioning these stems into a human form, then placing it into the final grapeshot, will ensure future circles growth.

Photo by Rob Irving: Doug and Dave in Doug's studio.

Read the site. It won't tell you if the China video is real but it's a fascinating exercise in what I think is disinfo. Read it carefully and it looks almost to be playing with the reader. A ritual to prevent breakage? Circles within circles...so to speak.

The motiion is good, but the lights do seem kinda bogus, and there seems to be no interaction with the underside of the hull, so they may not even have been rendered in 3D, but added at the compositing stage.

The time stamp font/scale doesn't look like any consumer/prosumer camera displays I'm familiar with, but I'm more a post production wonk, so I wouldn't say definitely.

This is better than the Aussie UFOs, which are obviously bogus, but it's also a much simpler project to do, as there's no interation with the environment, unlike the Aussie "UFO shot from inside a car". All the China footage needs is to use a point tracking to maintain relative position from the building, then animate with that baseline.

I'm REALLY skeptical of any modern UFO footage, because it IS so easy to fake, and fake convincingly, even by a 17 year old kid with the desire, and bit torrent.

That's my humble opinion, anyways.

The most fake-looking bit of the china vid is when it zips off at the end... it's only a couple of frames and google video is hard to pause precicely, but the motion blur just feels really digital to me....

Also it has a really 'motion tracked' feeling to me... nothing I could describe/measure but having spent a lot of time motion tracking myself recently, I just get that feeling from the movement of the UFO in relation to buildings.

I realize that this is getting off-topic, but since the subject of crop circles came up...has anyone else heard of a report from Canada from the 1990s, of a porcupine or some such similar kind of animal with quills, found inside a recently made crop circle? I attended a crop circle seminar and heard an investigator mention this, and according to the investigator the animal's quills were also turned in the direction of the swirl. I was always curious as to why this never made the rounds elsewhere (unless the reportr turned out to be a hoax or incorrect.)
