The Well-Worn Path of the American Intellectual

Ted Hughes...well, doesn't that fit just fine...Ted Hughes was a manipulative misogynist scumbag; Cesar Vallejo a great example of a human being.

You are verging on insane, my little middle-aged friend.
Let's see...hmm....I'll bet you're fat, too.

A member of the CPUSA through the eighties, huh?

Yeahhh....

If so, I'm so so very sorry for you that at a crucial time in your life, you believed that membership in the CP was necessary for you to be a marxist. Especially at a time when they were essentially irrelevant to the class struggle. I've never been a member, although I must say that lately the Daily World paper has been one of the better of the leftist rags out these days. At the least, one of the only ones with regular reportage of union struggles around the US.

Quote:
That's the thing about pot, man, the consequences don't hit you till years later.

I'll just let that one stand in all it's narcissistic Amero-centric glory.

Wait, you stopped smoking pot and then got bit?

Quote:
I'd be like, wow, man

So glad to see that you've dealt with it better than that, ahem.

With your veiled suicide threats and post-modern outlook, you are clearly addled...The way you're thinking, I can see why it might be "all downhill from now on" for you. I'm genuinely sorry.

Well it took membership in the CPUSA for me to learn how ineffectual they were, you're right about that.

And blaming Ted Hughes for Sylvia Plath's suicide is just lame, but I'm talking about his poetry, not his personal life. Vallejo may have been a sweetheart, but his poetry is forgettable.

And you calling me on the verge of insane is like seventhsonjr calling Jimi Hendrix a patriot: it's all relative and therefore I take no offense, intended or not.

Must be something in the air tonight boys; sorry your sacred cows got smutched today, but you'll polish them up again sure

bye
