Emoticons would be more like an intellectual break-through for me. Does anyone else ever get to wondering if people you know are posting here and they know who you are?

What Does Floyd Really Know?

Ma, I strongly suspect that at least one member of this board knows a whole lot more about the personal me than the rest of you. But, that's just my opinion I could be _____ (fill-in-the-blank). I know, let's ask Anna-Livia & sceneshifter, or marykmusic & dragon. I posted my boohoo.commie e-dress here a few long whiles ago, when, I, too, officially quit the board, and invited my few newfound friends to e-me. No one did.

I met the other suspected member in a most un-suspected way. Private, and off-board. But, if you do a deep-impact search, and find the old stuff, you have my permission to e-me. I like/love your open, honest posts, "mother", and i believe you're really real.

But, you probably won't have to do much homework to find me. The Truly-Net-Savvy-Trolls will find that old thread, and re-post it here for all to see. Of course, if you've been paying attention, and I know you have, you already know that I AM Alexander Franklin Mutter (rhymes with computer), and that I reside in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA, and work in our contiguous, abutting city of Chesapeake, VA.

Love,
Saint Alex the Foolish, circa Third Millennium, a.D.

UPDATE:

I went up to her a few minutes ago and said "Hey I noticed you were on RI" Yeah I know, pretty weak, nothing witty

Anyway, she gave me the look and we started with the small talk. I introduced myself, we spoke for a little blah blah.

I didn't want to flagrantly ask "what's your username" so I beat around the bush. It went something like:

Me: Well hey I gotta run, but if you want I can PM you sometime. What's your username?
Her: I don't think so.
Me: Hey! Why not?
Her: I dunno it would be kinda weird knowing someone from RI in real life. What if I post something embarassing and you see it?
Me: Oh come on, it's RI!
Her: Well, how about this. Do you have lunch plans tomorrow?
Me: No, why?
Her: Let's do lunch tomorrow and if you're good maybe i'll tell you.

So we're going to meet at Wendy's (her choice) for lunch at 1:30.

There are few better ways to meet someone on the same page philosophically, than on a board such as this.

Dragon and I met on the Cloud-Busters online discussion group, so we already knew we had a similar mind-set.

We didn't actually meet for three months, but it began with a whirlwind of jokes...

And besides, it's spring! --MaryK
