Net Neutrality

Postby steve vegas » Sun Jun 11, 2006 11:53 pm

Any thoughts on what will happen to the parapolitical and left wing political blogosphere once net neutrality is trashed by the senate? I sure hope that the Senate votes agains this latest act but I'm not holding my breath.

Hey Steve

Here is a thread I started, linking to Cannonfire's suggestions on how we could take some action, but no one paid attention. The things he suggests are not that difficult, and seem to me to be worth the little time and effort they take. Have a look and tell me what you think.
p216.ezboard.com/frigorou...4687.topic

What will happen to lefty and parapolitical sites if this thing gets through? Why, they will be decimated, which is almost the entire point. Extra gravy for telcos is that profits will skyrocket at the same time.

Well, actually, sunny, I was paying attention:

"Thank you for taking action to save the Internet. You can keep
up with what we are doing at www.savetheinternet.com .

Sign up for the "Media Reform Daily" to receive the latest news:
www.freepress.net/news/subscribe.php

Sincerely,
Timothy Karr
Campaign Director"

PS I am soooo pissed at Iowa's (Dem)Rep Leonard Boswell. He voted AGAINST net neutrality. And in addition, he was one of eight Dems who voted FOR the de-fanged lobbying bill and helped to get it passed. We don't need that kind of Dem. I would rather vote for a corrupt Repug than a weak Dem.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 6/11/06 11:03 pm
