Much of it was released by FOIA requests but still in heavily redacted form.<br><br>Lennon recoiled from the FBI's COINTELPRO harassment of bugging and following him around and instead retreated to homelife to raise his son for five years.<br><br>According to a whitewashing book I just saw on one of the infamous front tables at Borders called something like 'Famous Dead People,' Lennon spilled his guts daily on the phone to an LA disc jockey friend and the FBI would have heard him talking about coming out of retirement to 'get political' which was exactly where he was at when he was murdered by a Manchurian Candidate-type named Mark Chapman who's history of taking LSD and obsessing over Lennon was highlighted in the CIA press. Seems that Chapman sat down on the sidewalk after firing and started reading 'Catcher in the Rye.' Hmm.<br>(Previously described as very gun-shy, Chapman suddenly developed an interest in guns after a trip to Hawaii. Here comes eugenics economics, US-run death squads south of the border, and CIA cocaine flooding America's cities.<br><br>Seems that 'entertainment' journalism is where the fictions around political assassinations are kneaded and baked into the American mind.<br><br>The 2/20/84 issue of the CIA rag called 'People Weekly' featured a cover story about the last days of Lennon and the release of his last album. The article mentions what a friend of Yoko's named Elliot Mintz allegedly called 'Project Walrus' involving a trusted assistant of Lennon's named Fred Seaman and his friend Bob Rosen stealing many Lennon artifacts including recordings and diaries since 1975 and then terrorizing Yoko for three years after Lennon's death while trying to discredit her by making drug purchases in her name. <br><br>Sounds like a COINTELPRO operation to me but 'People' describes it as a couple of cruel opportunistic jerks. <br>Yeah...right. <br><br>The same issue of 'People' gives tribute to recently-deceased 'journalist' Tommy Thompson written by 'Life' managing editor Richard B. Stolley who was an Operation Mockingbird media spook.<br><br>Amazingly, a picture from Dallas on 11/22/63 is included citing Thompson's 'scoop' of finding Lee Harvey Oswald's family before anyone else and keeping them holed up in a hotel room. And there's the photo to prove it.
