Proposal to Implant Tracking Chips in Immigrants

31 May 2006

Scott Silverman, Chairman of the Board of VeriChip Corporation, has proposed implanting the company's RFID tracking tags in immigrant and guest workers. He made the statement on national television earlier this week.

Silverman was being interviewed on "Fox & Friends." Responding to the Bush administration's call to know "who is in our country and why they are here," he proposed using VeriChip RFID implants to register workers at the border, and then verify their identities in the workplace. He added, "We have talked to many people in Washington about using it...."

The VeriChip is a very small Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag about the size of a large grain of rice. It can be injected directly into the body; a special coating on the casing helps the VeriChip bond with living tissue and stay in place. A special RFID reader broadcasts a signal, and the antenna in the VeriChip draws power from the signal and sends its data. The VeriChip is a passive RFID tag; since it does not require a battery, it has a virtually unlimited life span.

RFID tags have long been used to identify animals in a variety of settings; livestock, laboratory animals and pets have been "chipped" for decades. Privacy advocates have long expressed concerns about this technology being used in human beings.

In a related story, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe allegedly remarked to visiting U.S. senators Jeff Sessions (Alabama) and Arlen Specter (Pennsylvania) that microchips could be used to track seasonal workers. "President Uribe said he would consider having Colombian workers have microchips implanted in their bodies before they are permitted to enter the U.S. for seasonal work," Specter told Congress on April 25.

...

www.livescience.com

They can stuff their chips where the sun don't shine.

I saw this article and I don't believe in these chips for any reason unless they want to inventory the goods at the store.

For each technology that comes out, there's a way to beat it and the more complicated it is, the easier it is to dismantle.

A paintball will disable any camera.

My husband is a legal immigrant. Before he gets a chip, we WILL leave the country. They are not saying his category. YET. But that's the last fucking straw with these Nazi bastards, for us.

It started with the dogs and cats being chipped, next it was a push for people to put their medical records in them and then there was the push for chic bar patrons to have them.
Then it was for the dead in hurricane Katrina. Now we have 12,000 students in Tuscon wearing rfid tags (not chips) on the buses to keep track of them. The government wants to chip all the farm animals.

What is this? We are going to have to pass a law in every single state to keep the feds from forcing this on us?

See how incremental this is? The weakest are picked on first, then pretty soon, they'll start targeting our youth, like they do with other technology to make it "cool" to have this and here we go, off to chipland and constant surveillance.

I won't stand for this. This might just be the issue which causes a revolution in this country.

Many Christians believe this to be the mark of the beast.
A lot of people bash Christians because of their belief in the end times and the mark of the beast. Whether or not this truly is a biblical omen coming to pass or not, this is NOT good for freedom. And what I am saying is, that whether or not it is a mark of a beast or not this is an issue we should be able to unite on, regardless of our religious beliefs.

We need to unite on this issue and raise hell with the politicans on this one and make no mistake about it, if we don't we'll all soon be their cattle.

I can honestly say this is one issue that I am not afraid to stand up and lose everything I have for. This is the one.

Edited by: pugzleyca3 at: 6/2/06 12:46 am

I can honestly say I'm with you on this.

And though I disagree with fundamentalist Christians on many topics, I'll gladly unite with them to oppose the Mark of the Beast.
