For the past several weeks on an intermittent basis, I have been finding myself unable to hit an apostrophe keystroke without being forcibly directed off the page to a pop-up toolbar at the bottom, containing the following instructions: "Find" followed by a small blank form, "Find Next", "Find Previous", "Highlight All", and "Match Case."<br><br>This has happened persistently on all sorts of forms in all sorts of forums, not just this one...including eBay message forms.<br><br>What is going on, here? Besides me finding myself unable to use contractions, that is...<br><br>any help on this? <p></p><i></i>

What web browser do you use? <br><br>The "find" function (on firefox, it's control-f) will let you enter a search term and those are the other things you can do...find next, etc.<br><br>Not sure why the apostrophe would pull it up...<br><br>I assume you use windows?<br><br>If it persists and you have access to another keyboard, try that. It may be that somehow you've mapped the apostrophe key to pull up the find function.<br><br> <p></p><i></i>

Just as a sidebar...I was having trouble with my keystrokes a while back...couldn't capitalize words and some letters wouldn't type.<br><br>Then I realized the problem....years of writing on forums and eating my dinners at the same time had clogged up my keyboard with crumbs.<br><br>I cleaned my keyboard with a credit card and paper clip...removed some keys and cleaned underneath...<br><br>and, voila!<br><br>problemo solved<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rollin --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br><br>GC <p></p><i></i>
