immigration

Bush gave his immigration speech tonight. We can forget about most of the proposals and focus on the national id card plan. I did not see the speech but have heard Bush suggested such a card, here: www.reason.com/hitandrun/...tml#013889

Here is where I throw out some speculation, however wrong it may be. This immigration issue seems to have blossomed out of nothing. All of the sudden it is a problem and Bush must deal with it. So far, his proposals have not thrilled his base; not his voting base nor his financial base, and for seperate reasons. So why would he play with fire on this issue? To ram a national id card down our throats?

Or just to try and fill up the front pages and water cooler debates with something that isn't the fact that the NSA - under his own and Cheney's direction - have been trolling our phone records the past 5 years and he's, yet again, caught in a bunch of total, bald faced lies about it.

With these fuckers, it's all politics, all the times. We're kidding ourselves if we ever think that actual policy has ever entered the room. At least in day light.

Making policy on the basis of personal friendships rather than national interest was always the great failing of the Bushs, father and son.

Also the Mexican election is coming up on July 2nd, and Fox's man Calderon is way behind in the polls. I think Bush would rather have waited until closer to the election to propose amnesty, so as to help Fox's party, but his hand was forced by the House.

Lastly, Bush isn't too bright, but he's an eternal optimist. He probably really does imagine that he can pull together some sort of concensus that will please everyone.

-Sepka the Space Weasel

stage by others than junior. PNAC which has cheney and jeb as members is one. They really are following the Illuminati/Nazi plan.

Since people have noted that Cheney and Bush say "What are you going to do about it?" to all the illegal and immoral actions of bushco from torture, to highjacking our military and abusing our troops, to the Patriot Act to Bush admitting he is illegally spying on US citizens and approved the outing of Plame, the ball is in our court - What can we do about it? It looks like the CIA and other agencies are leaking and with the many investigations of the Bush Regime, some of the PTBs are fighting bush but what can we do?

Bush is pushing as much of the plan as possible to counter any effective stopping of this rapid slide into fascism and that includes acting like a dictator or a father figure - male domination cult is right to see how many people will let him get away with it because unless people take to the streets which they haven't done so far but that eventuality has been wargamed long ago and the Halliburton concentration camps and the publicity to intimidate people, Operations Viper and Granite, tracking any sources of rebellion like the raging grannies and the Quakers and where they are to arrest them, the National ID card, the secret legislation and Executive orders.

I don't think that the Bush Regime is all that worried about uprising of the American people because they have planned for it and it includes getting rid of Posse Comitarus and already using Blackwater mercenaries in Iraq and the American Gulf States using Katrina as an excuse. The Bush Crime family has their own personal mercenaries paid for with taxpayer money, bush junior does not depend only on the Secret Service for protection and who knows how many Blackwater mercs are already taking over policing and how many Bushco has ready to let loose on Americans when they start taking to the streets when the economy collapses.

Oh well, I'm trying to spend part of my time online on spiritual sites. Crystal Links.com has a good overview of many spiritual ideas and Wikipedia has some excellent links that I would not have found on my own for spiritual and art sites.

If you remember, shortly after 11 September 2001, there were people calling for a National ID Card; the idea being that they will help identify terrorists. [1] These proposals never got far enough in the United States at least. In Britain, ID cards seem to be on their way, Blair having won a vote in February. In Britain, the justification is that they will "help the police fight terrorism, organized crime and identity fraud." [2] We can probably expect those arguments along with the now central immigration angle. Canada seems to be reluctant to institute a national ID card, though the U.S. is pressuring them to do something along those lines. [3, 4] So, the terrorism strategy doesn't work in the U.S. and now we start getting the immigration strategy.

1. www.epic.org/privacy/id_cards/ - there are a lot of news stories linked here

2. www.nytimes.com/2006/02/1...nd&emc=rss

3. www.hamiltonspectator.com...2101662670

4. www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs...8350116795
