There is no mic in the cable box. That hole is there so you can stick a paper clip in it to force a reboot. <p></p><i></i>

Depends on the make/model one has, I suppose. :shrug If your cable box comes from SA, I can tell you that there are no mics involved....at least until 7/07. The federal gov't has made changes to our business effective then, which has to do with the services we can offer with each type of box. Come closer to that time, I will know more. Even then, there will be nothing about listening in on subscribers. You kidding me? They'd revolt and become DISH subs in droves. <p></p><i></i>
