<<a self-radicalizing "terrorist" whose "terrorist breeding ground" is the Internet and whose piper is not just "Osama Bin Laden," but the radical writer, the blogger, and the so-called "conspiracy theorist.">>

So the question here at RI is, and this is just out of a matter-of-fact stoic curiosity, (so as none think I am bug-eyed with paranoiic excitement bred by immaturity - for truly, the idea and reality of this is old hat and nothing I am overtly or even mildly obsessed with), and simply asking out loud: the fascist moron who is assigned to RI....does he/she post here as well? Just curious. Not that anyone would know.
Mostly bored with the idea that one is assigned, really I could give a fuck. But just wondering out loud.
But please, if you do not think the quote above is relevant to this board, then the report may as well be fiction. Since it is obvious they are making their rounds, it should also be duly noted for shits and grins here.
I feel sorry for the poor ass whose job includes monitoring places like this.

YOU POOR SCHMUCK.

Well, gotta go make some molotov cocktails, and work on my plan to blow up every unconstitutional governmental agency building before the year 2008. No....reeeeeally.

Diana DeGette of Colorado said that she is working with Republicans Reps. Ed Whitfield, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce oversight and investigations subcommittee, and Joe Barton, chairman of the full committee, to finalize language mandating a controversial practice known as data retention.

"Internet service providers across the board do retain this data for some period of time right now, so all were doing in this legislation is requiring a standard in the industry," DeGette said at a morning hearing here on online child pornography, which was at least the sixth event dealing with online child exploitation in the House this year.

The data retention requirement is necessary because members of Congress have "learned that Internet service providers and social networking sites have information that law enforcement needs when investigating pedophiles online, and that is the IP address on a particular date and time that will help identify those involved," said Whitfield, a Kentucky Republican who is also heading a probe into Hewlett-Packard's boardroom scandal.

Privacy groups and industry groups have generally opposed mandatory data retention, with some companies such as Comcast voluntarily agreeing to retain user data for longer periods. The other form would be far broader, requiring companies to record data such as the identities of e-mail correspondents, logs of who sent and received instant messages (but not the content of those communications), and the addresses of Web pages visited.

During a series of meetings with Internet companies hosted by the Justice Department--first reported by CNET News.com--officials have been ambiguous about how they want legislation worded, private-sector participants say. "Obviously this is a real dilemma for the Internet service providers for a host of reasons, and I think there is an appropriate time frame that can be established," he said. "But overwhelmingly, we support (data retention mandates)."

DeGette sought to allay concerns raised by privacy advocates about the approach, adding, "I'm concerned about privacy considerations, too, especially in light of what I believe to be illegal surveillance of telephone records by this administration."

Why would they really want data on every website that everyone browses? Why do they want every email archived ad infinitum? Why is Mrs. Lino Lipinsky really interested in opening this datamine to civil litigants? I only pray that the seeds of Mrs. DeGette-Lipinsky's tree bears sour fruit upon her(wouldn't it be something if her family's internet use was spied upon for unpaid parking tickets or video rental late fees.)

Re: Vietnam Syndrome II

Postby Hugh Manatee Wins » Tue Sep 26, 2006 4:46 am

Besides the infowar chilling uptick, I'm sure there are REX84 fans who expect an inevitable return of the anti-Vietnam unrest ala the Weather Underground.

I actually think there are far fewer anti-fascists today who would resort to the violence of the days of Vietam I. Although even back then, the Weather Underground didn't target humans, just government property which they vandalized with explosives. Pray no one is dumb enough to go down that self-defeating road again because violence only begets more violence.

Real revolution is carried out as peaceful therapy and education.
"Properganda."

Which is exactly why the government stays violent.

My real concern is the agent-provocateurs who might be ready to 'get it on' to bring down the boot before 2008.
