"Terror Terror Terror Terror!" (Jimmy Cliff)
________________________

Through the years, i.e. the last 5 years, the MSM reports (maybe statigically) about possible threats to our country. They would warn us to be on alert for any suspicious activities
because according to intelligence sources terrorists are planning to rent apartments and blow up buildings. So watch out all tenants and landlords, and be afraid. Be very very afraid.

Then the terrorists were going to blow up hosipitals...remember?

Then we all have to watch out because the terrorists are planning to attack our schools, our malls...GAH!!!

DAMN THOSE TERRORISTS!!!

Even though none of this stuff ever materialized (most likely due to our spiffy, I mean diligent Homeland Security Dept), doesn't it just make you HATE those damn terrorists even more?

I don't understand why the terrorists ever strike civilian targets. They must not be very bright. Now if I were a terrorist, which I'm not, dear me. I'm a pacifist (uh oh, better not say that either). Well, we'll just drop this subject for now.

Mind Control
___________

I seem to suffer some symptoms of mind control, but I don't think my folks really had it enough together to do much more than create the trauma part at home thanks to alcohol and pharmaceuticals.

Maybe that's all it takes. A stressful homelife. From there the child gets catapulted into fantasy land where the programming on TV teaches them how to become multiple personalities, and the schools and religious institutions turn the child's mind to putty. And the doctors, they're all the time poking the kids with needles. I'd call that trauma.

I think mind control is built into the system and we all got it bad.

I have alot of books on hypnosis (also). I wanted to take a class in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, but I was afraid the instructor would say something like "You will have to sign up for the 2nd course for $3000." And I would say, "I have to sign up for the 2nd course for $3000."

I picked up a book on NLP (if you insist I will go hunt for the author and title), and the author starts off with "There is no need to put people into a trance state these days. All you need to do is to find the triggers." (something like that)

So, I wanted to learn more about trance states. We humans seem to have an inclination towards trance states. We seem to like them alot. Why is that? Is it good for us? How do you stop them? I want my memory back.

Jeff's post and comments
_____________________

I thought I was interested in discussing LSD and the psychedelic experience, but maybe I'm not because I'll be darned if I'm going to read all that crap. Geeze you guys, talk about overkill.

Just kidding. Good post Jeff.

One more thing
_____________

I want to hear what it's like to be in "Lock-down" at school.

God, talk about trauma. That can't be legal. Are parents putting up with that?

All really interesting. I learned about the "Ericksonian" handshake when looking into Derren Brown, the English mentalist. I haven't had the guts to really try it and I'm sure it needs a bit more direct instruction. But the idea is that you shake someone's hand and then linger as you are letting go, letting first one finger make contact lightly then another in such a way as to just get the person focused on their hand. There's a bit more to it I'm sure but anyway, once they are focused inward and if they are good trance subjects, you have instant trance. In the article I read, colleagues of this one man wouldn't shake his hand...they'd have sensations like seeing him "disappear" as they'd zone out for a bit.

As for lockdowns...you know THANK YOU for saying that. They had one at my stepdaughter's school. I have become so accustomed to hearing about them...I just assumed some kid brought a weapon to school or something. However, I work with students from several schools and I think the lockdown was done in other schools as well. And this one kid said he accidentally left the classroom early and the police told him he could have been shot just for being in the hall. Amazing how I just let that slide. Anyway, you sort of woke me up about that. I'm going to ask the students again and see about writing the school board or something. Talk about "hypnosis"...

"You will not question random displays of police powers...you will not question.........."

After moving from relatively peaceful Snowflake, AZ (the "best-preserved Mormon pioneer town") to Casa Grande, I pulled both boys out of the public school when we realized that the schools there were basically little prisons. Parents cannot just come pick up their kids... it has to be approved by staff. In a lockdown situation, no parents are allowed ner under threat of arrest. Stuff like that.

It's better where we are now, in Cottonwood. --MaryK

Arthur Silber has a brilliant article where he talks about the web of lies that polititians and the powerfull weave. There are few better political commentators around than Arthur.

powerofnarrative.blogspot...empty.html

Quote:
We live in a world founded on lies. Our entire national debate is made up of a series of intricate, interwoven myths, lies and tales fabricated by propagandists. Such propagandists are to be found in all parts of the political spectrum. Today's conservatives and other assorted defenders of the current administration, and of its foreign policy in particular (the most loathsome of which are the self-identified, phony "libertarians," who have debased that term beyond the point of recognition -- it now appears that anyone to the left of Hitler may be regarded as a "libertarian," if his paeans to untrammeled militarism and genocide contain the occasional reference to "American values" and "individual rights" , constantly appeal to "American exceptionalism" and our nation's "founding principles," even as they systematically destroy all the values that once, very briefly, made the United States unique.
