I think we all recognize the freepers --- they are the ones that usually have punchlines like "you DUass", "you DUmbshit", and the like. But what about Trolls?

I would like to begin a discussion on the traits exhibited by Trolls and your experiences with them. Can you now with reasonable confidence identify them? Are there any here on RI? Are they "bad"?

To begin the discussion, this is what (in part) Wikipedia has to say:

Trolling:

Surfing, or browsing, the Web.

Posting derogatory messages about sensitive subjects on newsgroups and chat rooms to bait users into responding.

Hanging around in a chat room without saying anything, like a "peeping tom."

Encyclopedia :
troll (trĂ´l) , in Scandinavian folklore, dwarfish or gigantic creature of caves and hills. Variously friendly or malicious, trolls toiled as smiths.

Personally, i do not think the above quite catches what they do. But i would love to hear your reponses.

He wasn't a particular fave of mine either, but strangely, he was the first rock concert I ever attended. Fate or coincidence? It would be interesting to revisit Mr. Zappa's work now that I have this new perspective on him.

Very synchronistic as I was just listening to Joe's Garage on my iPod as I walked to work.

Joe's Garage, particularly part 2, is a hilarious critique of L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology, which Zappa twists to Elron Hoover and the Church of Appliantology.

Well worth the listen!

But Zoot Allures remains my favorite. Absolutely blistering guitar, pure Zappalciousness.
