Love & good wishes to Jeff and his family

Postby Corvidaerex » Mon Oct 03, 2005 3:20 am

Finishing a book by Robert Anton Wilson this weekend, I was struck by a heartbreaking part where the author loses one of his children, and how the devastation is tamed a little by the support he got from his neighbors and fellow writers, who all loved the girl.

Timothy Leary sent a telegram saying there was a network of people all over who were sending good wishes to R.A. Wilson, and R.A. Wilson could feel this as a tangible thing.

If you read this board all the time like I do, it sure couldn't hurt to focus for a while on Jeff Wells' family and send some good stuff his way. I am going to get off the computer and do this right now. (If you follow a discipline, you have a certain way of doing this. If not, it works just the same and just as well.)

Your family is just getting started... I've been a mom since 1972. In a way, I envy you the charm, the daily awe and joy of a new child... but then, that's why I had a second litter, too ('cause I missed that.)

My last boy is about to become a teenager; the other one still at home just turned 15. I bought him a baby ball python for his b-day present (it was a great choice! Couldn't get him a wolf or a raptor, which are his other "favorites.")

The day my daughter, who was the Child From Hell, suddenly, when she turned 14, told me that I raised her to be a good mom, it made all those bad years all right. And my little grandson is precious! And he gives his mom a reason to appreciate the patience I instilled in her, by always practicing it myself.

Those three are my second litter. My first kids got lost in the world somewhere... did better the second go-round.

Oh-- and those inevitable bad days and sleepless nights? This, too, shall pass.

Good wishes to you, and thanks for letting us visit here. --MaryK
