Pyramid discovered in Bosnia (?!)

Postby Pants Elk » Fri Nov 04, 2005 4:26 pm

I'd have thought this was of more than passing interest to the average tinfoil RI freak - yet I can't find it mentioned anywhere here?

dino.avdibeg.dk/blog/2005...osnia.html

*snip*

Pyramid found - in the heart of Bosnia!!

Near the city of Visoko, 30 km north of Sarajevo, there is a stone pyramid of monumental size, claims the Bosnian archeologist Semir Osmanagiæ, who lives and works in the USA.

After several months of geological and archeological research, Mr. Osmanagiæ concluded that under the present hill of Visoèica hides a stairs-like pyramid, about 12,000 years old. Osmanagiæ, who intensively researched on pyramids in Americas, Asia and Africa for the last 15 years and wrote several books on the subject, says he's quite sure he found the first pyramid in Europe, which is quite similar to ones in the Southern America.

He believes that the project would completely change Bosnia's significance in the world of archeology.

On the top of "Bosnian pyramid of Sun" was a temple, built by pre-Illyrians, people who lived, according to Osmanagiæ, 27,000 years ago.

Mr. Osmanagiæ thinks he will solve the "Bosnian pyramid of Sun" in the next five years, but also prove the existence of "Bosnian pyramid of Moon", lying under the neighboring hill of Križž.

According to BBC, the leading Bosnian newspaper "Dnevni Avaz" writes:

"The pyramid is 100 metres high and there is evidence that it contains rooms and a monumental causeway ... The plateau is built of stone blocks, which indicates the presence at the time of a highly developed civilisation," the daily explains.

"Archaeological excavations near the surface have uncovered a part of a wall and fragments of steps," it reveals.

"Visocica hill could not have been shaped like this by nature," geologist Nada Nukic tells the daily. "This is already far too more than we have anticipated, but we expect a lot more from further analysis," she concludes.

plus, among other links:

www.rumormillnews.com/cgi...read=80951

when they get down to the stone blocks I'll buy it

but there's plenty of pyramid-shaped mountains that have formed naturally one way or another, so at the moment it's just a funny-shaped hill. Check out the Gympie pyramids in Australia for another pyramid 'find', if that's your thing.

If it is a pyramid then it is one more proof that before humans there was an advanced civilization on Earth and elsewhere(IMO angelic, which "fell" lateron, opposed God,and was judged>hence the great destruction of the same buy "natural" disasters).Bosnia(which is in my "neighbourhood") is really an amazing place for such a finding...I saw the photo,it is huge. But we should wait and see I guess...

I doubt I share your worldview, Ivan

but your theory lit a brief spark somewhere in my mind: where is Madjugore (spelling?)? Isn't that in Yugoslava (ie, right in the Balkans?)?

The whole Madjugore mythos is another one of those little oddities that I'm sure Jeff could whip up and find connections for -- not the least of which being why did the miracles fizzle out after awhile?

---

For the sake of a discussion other 'pyramids' out there include:
* underwater structures off japan (tombs from before a sealevel shift...)
* gympie in australia
* rumors of them in NW china
* latin america all over the place
* moundbuilders of southeastern USA

Not necessarily any connection between any of these -- some are more credible than others for sure -- but just keeping things going.

Malachi Martin thought Medjugorje...

Postby banned » Sat Nov 05, 2005 1:49 am

...was a Satanic hoax because the Blessed Virgin supposedly made statements that were heresy.

See, eg:

www.stjosephsmen.com/letters/medu.htm

There is no such thing as Yugoslavia anymore. Referring to it is like referring to the US as the 13 Colonies.

It only existed from 1929 to 2003. Jugo meant South, as in South Slavs. Wikipedia has a good brief summary. Trying to meld Roman Catholics, Orthodox, and Muslims, former members of the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires, into one country only worked when there was a 'strongman' in charge--Josip Broz aka Tito. After his death it all fell apart.

Medjugorje is in Bosnia-Herzegovina, here's a map:

www.medjugorje.org/mapp.htm

open my mouth and show my ignorance...

so much for good old Yugoslavia (one of my many places of heritage). That Medjugore is in Bosnia would be doubly interesting if this pyramids turn out to be anything more than an excitable local eccentric with a digital camera and web access...

Yugoslavia

Postby ivanbo2003 » Sat Nov 05, 2005 12:38 pm

existed until Slovenia(didn't see war at all) and Croatia announced independence(in that order)
and hell broke loose..3 different religion in one artificially created country couldn't last that long...Needless to say that it didn't help much that many of the ustashas(sorry for the expression,it is from serbian language) from Croatia escaped trial under cover of comunism and brotherhood of the nations.Bosnia(more than 50% Serbs lived in that repiblic) took most of the damage as everyone wanted the piece of it.Western countries didn't help the way that we wanted..Just stood there and watched us slaughter eachother.
Banned you are right about everything..Wikkipedia is really amazing
PS It could be that a possible $$$ issue did its thing in rising this whole pyramid question.Tourism!

ivan, I knew about the history of Yugoslavia..

...before there was a Wikipedia, I was a European history major besides knowing many people of Eastern European descent in Cleveland. Surprising how many Americans can't tell a Slovak from a Slovene .

Yes, Ushasha is used in English to describe the Nazi collaborators among the Croats. Many people demonized the Serbs without understanding the background of WWII. I read articles that made it sound like the Serbs were still miffed about stuff that happened in the 14th century and glided right over the Croatians in WWII. I know Tito was a Croat. Presumably had Draja Mihailovich not Tito had the edge it might have come out differently and the wartime issues would have been settled then not put on hold for 40 years. Of course, the Greek Civil War didn't exactly settle things either, though other than Makedonija Greece didn't have the same kind of ethnic/religious polarity that Yugoslavia did.

amazing knowledge of history man,congrats!
Everything u say is true, and I bet u know more than average Serb in the street...
Yes,if Draza Mihailovich in stead of Tito was ahead of Yugoslavia things would come out waaaay different(Monarchy instead of comunistic republic),trials for war crimes, probably smaller country w/ Macedonia Montenegro and Serbia together(Slovenia is ruled out cause of geo location-no Crotia-no connection with Serbia). We are pravoslav christians(and Macedonians also),part of Bosnia are muslims,Croats are catolics ,and so are Slovenes. So much different people stucked in such a small place.Parts of Bosnia and Croatia before the war in 90s
contained more than 75% of population Serbs!!So we kinda lost that war and many young and very bright people, because of a mad man Milosevic. Now we try to keep up with the Western Europe, but is hard cause mentality is comunistic, and the only man who ment buissines in reforming this little country was shot dead 12.3.2003 by our secret police/mafia.Zoran Djindjic, great visionary.Sad history, sad nation. And sad future unfortunately.
Things are pretty much the same in surounding area:Bosnia,Croatia,MAcedonia.Only Slovenia is quite "evolved" in Western style.
Offtopic(we are either way offtopic )
I just watched Jeepers Kreepers...Jeezz what a f**ucked up movie...Some demon was eating people on some Godforsaken highway in America, and the hero at the end was skinned(dead)! What an ending, creeped me to death. The thing reminded me of my most terrible dreams.God,I must stop watching such movies once and for all...

Unfortunately it isn't hard...

...to know more history than the average American.

My former next door neighbor was Iranian and when we talked and she realized I actually knew about Iranian history and culture she was amazed. She figured she was lucky just to find Americans who knew Iranians aren't Arabs.

Think about the hubris of Americans thinking they can waltz in and solve the problems of countries they can't even point to on a map. But then thanks to our appalling public schools that are often little more than tax-supported babysitters, a significant percentage of them couldn't name all 50 states either.
