How Do You Put On Your Bra?

Almost never wear one.

Grew up in the 70s, got out of the habit. Only wear one if what I'm wearing demands it (indecent without it) or for, well, recreational purposes (hot date.) Hook in the back, hook in the front, depends on the style bra.

I've always been fascinated with how guys learn to unhook one. (On a woman that is, not talking to the trannies.)

Of course, if they're TOO good at it, I figure they've had a lot of practice and will have a fidelity problem. If they're too bad at it it's a turn off.

And if they know the exact page I ordered it from out of the Sticky Vicky's catalogue, see 'trannies' above. )

Hands-on practice

Now, here's a course I must take (with the delightfully named Ms. Biggins):

www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/sh.../23151.htm

It's never easy finding a well made and well fitting bra. Once you get one, you treasure it. How can the ladies here go without one? Mine have gone a little far south for my daily comfort. Unless I've got something special to wear, I put one on.

Quote:
I'm recalling a recent comment on another bulletin board I visit occasionally about a rock concert that the poster had attended, commenting on how foxy the women in their 40s- and yes, 50s- were, and how the 20somethings looked so skanky in comparison...the poster was in his 20s.

Bless you!

I don't like tattoos either. If they could figure out a way to retain the color and a fine line, it might be different. It's just that blue they turn, it looks ugly next to the color of the skin.

I met a guy in a bar not too long ago. He was young enough to have been my son. He must have been drunk because he took ten years off my age when he guessed. I love it when that happens! In reality, it is probably not based on physical appearance, but kid parts showing through, that confuses folks.

sw, I used to look at women and wonder why the hell they went along with all these rules about appearance, I thought they looked so silly all made up and decorated. Why would they do that? Now sometimes I have a male part blend with my now more developed female parts, and it's not just the clothes, but hand/body movements, giggling (you name it) that are shocking to them. I had a very bizarre experience of witnessing myself behave like a female, from the inside, but from a very uncomfortable and lost male point of view.

Eyes Wide Shut

Postby Pants Elk » Fri Dec 09, 2005 8:39 am

So, anyway, I've been thinking about the interiority of Eyes Wide Shut; how it's all interior. The so-called exterior sequences are nothing more than corridors to be moved along to the next room. The use of sound-stages increases this feeling of never being truly "outdoors". If we go further, it becomes apparent that all the interiors are models, or echoes, or reflections, of each other. There is only one room, and Dr Bill goes from room to room as we do in a dream. They're dream rooms. He's stuck in the house of sleep, dreaming he's a doctor.

Sorry to derail this thread with an off-topic post!

not at all.

"women's issues" already alerted to the cross-pollination. bzzz.

"men act', whereas "women appear" themes are already on the Kubrick thread.

but, dear Oedipa in the Vinelands, I'll restrain from giving my view of the essential 'interiority' of the works of both Kubrick and Pynchon, 'cos it'd spoil all the fun.

Very interesting line of inquiry. Can you move it over to the EWS discussion? I'll be back later on. Thx.

exactly.

relevent to the 'essential interiority'

are Kubrick and Pynchon just more of the magician's slight of hand, imparting to their audience the titillating sense of having been privy to some great revelation?

is the apparent camaraderie of the linking of arms effectively a surreptitious engagement?

meanwhile, here on our unabashedly bi-polarised thread of secret stuff, that 'rage' against the darkness will inevitably make an appearance.

Pynchon's function would seem glaringly obvious by his utilisation of cliches.

Kubrick melds the delivery of the message in such a way as to make dear Willie smile.

is this to wrest the beast to the light of day or just as the world turns?

is 'to enjoy' synonomous with 'to en - joy'?

Meanwhile, back at the topic...

A cousin of an ex-husband (and a delightful lady) once mentioned that the REAL purpose of fancy lingerie was not really about wearing it, but more like how fast will it come off? And the fancier it is, the more inspiring... --MaryK

I can feel like that, too, and it may or may not be "guys coming out." I stopped wearing Stupid Shoes on stage, for example, once my daughter was moved out ("Mom, you're not going out looking like THAT, are you?")

And I only wear a bra when I must for the sake of the people around me, like when I'm storytelling at a school. Oh, and if I'm riding, the sports bra really helps me trot. Up, down, up, down... (I ride English.) --MaryK
