I really think he got insulted, which is a real shame. I enjoyed his posts greatly.

I can't remember the exact thread, but some were saying something to the effect "where is HMW, he can explain all this, hahaha." I haven't seen him since.

i swear, hugh manatee disappeared from the board right around the time someone posted the "manatee spotted in the hudson river" article.

and i think someone said he was waiting for hugh to post a response about how the concept was an ambush to cyphon google hits away from him, but honestly, who didn't think immediately of HMW when they saw that post?

and i couldn't help but think about something akin to "keyword hijacking" (an unpopular term, i know, but hugh's not here to say it...) the other day when i googled "world trade center" and the whole first page was links to sites for the movie, not to sites for the actual location/situation (i.e., memories of the tragic event will be replaced by feelings aroused by the cinematic version).

Edited by: so buttons at: 8/10/06 11:34 pm

I also thought that the discussion was a little sharper then I would have liked it. But I 'm like that. I'm more of a mediator than a confronter. I try to stay out of threads that trigger me too much.

There are worse familars one could have than a manatee, they are the most gentle and peacefull animal on the planet. We sure could use a few more those these days.
