I thought this was some kind of mirror site. Bad news.

"Ads by Google" and Ezboard is a Google site. The game is on.

Edited by: Hugh Manatee Wins at: 11/3/06 3:52 am

And how do the above two posters pay for their internet connection each month? Jeff is a paid writer and deserves to make some change from running this site. From my view, I see that the previously tacked messages (two of them) at the top of this forum are gone.

And is the video thread locked because it is too heavy?

Apart from google ad income, don't they also track online movement?

Actually, having the ads is loooking pretty good--I see that I just won a 42" plasma TV.

---heh, heh.

Actually, I'm going to think of it as something like camoflouge. Now the PTB will never spot us--we'll just 'blend in'. Mwahahahahaha!

Hmm.......I think maybe Jeff didn't pay his Ezboard fees...this is what they do to free sites. I know his goal was to move to another host, so this may be deliberate until he makes that move. However, I'm pretty sure I'm the one who won the 42 inch...

Dreams End has it right. (Though for some reason I don't see the ads.)

It was going to cost another $200+ for three more months of "Gold Service," and I mean to migrate the board over here very shortly, hopefully within a week. (Or as quickly as I can figure out how to do it.)

well I haven't scooped the 42", but I could

Quote:
FIND YOUR PERFECT LOVER.
right down to their name

or get the

Quote:
SILENT RINGTONE
IMPOSSIBLE FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS TO HEAR

but the Ad invasion does have its up- side.
now I can click, go boil the kettle, make a pot of tea, wait for the tea to brew, pour a cup of tea, sit back and relax whilst sipping said tea, and then the page comes up.
I'll probably just have to allocate every other click for running to the loo.

Jeff,

Before you get started, I strongly urge you to consider using SMF Forum software as opposed to PHPbb.

Simple Machines

There are many reasons for this but mainly, if you look at the list of security vulnerabilities found in each, it is a no brainer. I'll add the list comparing the two later on today.

I've used both.....SMF is the way to go, especially if your unfamiliar with Forum software...much much easier to admin. It is free as well.

PHBbb vs. SMF

Either way, I'm looking forward to it...

~C

SMF

Postby Rigorous Intuition » Fri Nov 03, 2006 1:56 pm

Appreciate the imput, Cosmic Cowbell. But I don't think there is a conversion script for ezboard to SMF.

Re: "SMF"--sounds like a singles ad, but anyway

I'm not at all savvy about these web-server-thingies, so forgive if this is an obvious question, but I tried the link for where you're going to post RI, and tried to register. It said my username was already in use/claimed (something along those lines)--but when I tried to log in, it didn't seem to recognize me.

Will we need to register at the new 'location'?
