During World War II Hollywood and Disney were controlled by the US government for the war effort.
An official propaganda beaurocracy called the Office of War Information was set up and included the Bureau of Motion Pictures which reviewed and edited 1652 Hollywood scripts.
Disney made training and propaganda films and then after the war became the US government's prime asset for indoctrinating American children with 'warrior values' using stereotypes to "reduce the sphere of unpredictability" (in propaganda science lingo) and get military recruits.
Government movie propaganda never stopped.
It just became covert during the Cold War when a new hybrid of scientific fascism with a democratic veneer became the new American National Security State.
All the propaganda techniques deployed in radio and film were applied to the new hybrid technology that combined both of them called...television.
