a species that hires bodyguards to protect itself looses the ability to protect itself and is doomed to extinction

I got to say I am a little relieved here.
For sometime FBI agents committed big money crimes like wacking President Kennedy and creating the Oklahoma City bombing.
Good to see them developing a sense of humor and chilling out.
All on our tax dime, eh?

Not to worry those minors used for sexual purposes by the FBI agents were
not your daughters or sisters.
Gotta go, the X Files is coming on.

Would you expect anything different from FBI Director Bobbi "kkk" Mueller?
Read former FBI agent Dr Tyronne Powers book called EYES TO MY SOUL for more about the racism at the FBI.
What amazes me is 1/3 of the people who work for the FBI are Afro American
and don't seem to be troubled by the fact the FBI assassinated Martin Luther King.
Wait! The other people who don't work for the FBI also don't have a problem with their tax dime being used to fund a death squad.
tsk tsk tsk,

couple reads about the suits in white sheets spending your tax time.
Notice I did not use the bodyguard word.

Lawyers for FBI Agent Urge Court to Keep Retaliation Ruling in Place

The lawyers representing an FBI agent in a retaliation suit against the bureau are urging a federal appeals court in Washington not to disturb a three-judge panel decision that kept the case alive and alarmed the U.S. Justice Department.

The U.S. Justice Department recently asked the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to overturn the panel decision.. The ruling ordered additional proceedings in the trial court to explore the retaliation claim that the FBI agent, Wilfred Rattigan, lodged against the bureau.

Rattigan contends the FBI targeted him for possible revocation of his security clearance based on a discrimination complaint he filed. The agency, however, ultimately did not pull Rattigan's clearance. He alleges in the suit in Washington's federal trial court that bureau officials reported false security-related information about him, potentially jeopardizing his career.

Federal trial judges don't have the authority to review an executive agency's denial or revocation of a security clearance. But can judges review the report of allegedly unfounded information about a person? Rattigan's lawyers on Wednesday argued in support of the power of judges to review reports of false information.

A divided D.C. Circuit panel said Rattigan's kept alive Rattigan's case. A trial judge must determine whether there's enough evidence of "knowing falsity" to allow a jury to hear Rattigan's retaliation claim, the panel majority said. The court's ruling, the second of two in the case, is here.

Lured by Promises of Wealth, F.B.I. Agent Was Drawn Into Fraud Scheme, Prosecutors Say
By RUSS BUETTNER
Published: October 1, 2012

As he approached retirement this year, an F.B.I. agent in New York told a friend in an e-mail that his decades of work in law enforcement were finally about to pay off.

“I’ve made us all stinking rich!!!” the agent wrote, telling the friend to start planning how to spend a $1 million gift that would be arriving soon. “For 30 years I’ve sacrificed to get to this point.”

But his exit strategy, according to federal prosecutors, included his participation in a multimillion-dollar international scheme that involved the lieutenant colonel in charge of the United States Army’s Special Forces operations in Afghanistan and a Boston-based defense contractor.

The prosecutors say that the contractor, Michael Taylor, a former member of an Army Special Forces team, in 2007 won a contract eventually worth $54 million to train Afghan commandos. He did so with secret help from Lt. Col. David Young, who has since retired from the Army but at the time was in charge of Special Forces operations in the country, and then made kickback payments to the colonel, according to court records.

When Mr. Taylor, who lives in Boston, learned that federal authorities were looking into the Afghan contract, he turned to Robert Lustyik, the agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New York, enticing the career agent with the promise of wealth in exchange for his help quashing the investigation, prosecutors said.

Mr. Taylor, 51, and Mr. Young, 49, of Hernando Beach, Fla., were indicted in August in Utah, where prosecutors say they used a bank to structure money transfers. They and a third man, Christopher Harris, 48, another former member of the Special Forces who was then working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan, split $20 million from the contract, according to prosecutors.

On Saturday afternoon, Mr. Lustyik, 50, was arrested at his home in Sleepy Hollow, in Westchester County. He worked in sensitive counterintelligence operations. At his arraignment on Monday in Federal District Court in Manhattan, his lawyer, Raymond Mansolillo, said prosecutors had misinterpreted a legitimate relationship to exchange valuable intelligence as a corrupt enterprise.

Michael Galindo recently became the subject of an FBI investigation in Houston, Texas, after he took pictures of a dark and stormy rain cloud.

Galindo was questioned by FBI Agent David Pileggi, last week, who asked him about some photos he took on September 13 near the Lyondell Refinery, reports PhotographyIsntACrime.com.

Galindo told PhotographyIsntACrime.com: "He said I was spotted near the refinery but I couldn’t even remember doing that. I thought it had to be somebody else. It wasn’t until he mentioned my camera that I made the connection."

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – A 24-year FBI veteran from Sleepy Hollow has been accused of taking bribes and interfering with a federal investigation of a $54 million defense contract.

Robert G. Lustyik Jr. is charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, obstruction of the due administration of justice and obstruction of agency proceeding, according to a compliant filed last month in U.S. District Court in Utah.

Lustyik allegedly worked to stop a federal investigation into fraud allegations against Michael L. Taylor, 51, of Boston, according to testimony provided by Special Agent Thomas Hopkins in the complaint. Taylor is accused of fraud and bribery in procuring contracts for his company, the American International Security Corporation, to provide training and services to U.S. military operations in the Middle East.

An investigation of Taylor and the contract issued to his company began in mid-2010, officials said.

Taylor is accused of bribing Lustyik with $200,000 and shares in anticipated defense contracts totaling more than $150 million in exchange for his help in blocking the federal investigation and shielding Taylor from criminal liability, officials said.

FBI agent cleared of breach of Australian sovereignty

An Australian female military officer is outraged after the exoneration of an FBI agent despite claims he breached Australian sovereignty.

AN FBI officer who lied his way into the home of an Australian military officer involved in classified work has been cleared of wrongdoing, despite claims he breached Australian sovereignty.

The exoneration of the FBI officer Bill Spencer has outraged the woman he was attempting to lure to the US embassy, a former Middle East adviser to the White House, the Pentagon and the US Navy, Gwenyth Todd. Ms Todd claims the indiscretion may have been covered up to protect our most powerful ally.
Outraged ... Gwenyth Todd.

Outraged ... Gwenyth Todd.

It has also led to the AFP being forced to reject claims it approved Mr Spencer's improper intrusion, after a Defence Department investigator stated the AFP ''received prior notification of the FBI's intended activities in relation to Ms Todd''.

''I can't imagine why America allowed him to get away with it, and even further I can't imagine how Australia would allow an American to run rough-shod over them,'' Ms Todd, who lives in Canberra, said yesterday.

In February last year, Mr Spencer, the FBI liaison officer at the US embassy in Canberra, went to the house shared by Ms Todd and her partner.

Rabbi whose followers prompted FBI probe of NY congressman is questioned by Israeli police
October 12, 2012

JERUSALEM - An influential rabbi whose followers have accused a U.S. congressman of accepting illegal campaign contributions is now himself under investigation in Israel.

Israeli police say they questioned Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto on Friday about allegations that he tried to bribe a high-ranking police officer for access to a sensitive case file.

Pinto rose to prominence in New York earlier this year, when some of his followers claimed they had funneled illegal donations to U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm.

The FBI has been investigating for several months. This summer, agents arrested one of the rabbi's former aides on a visa fraud charge.

The aide had also helped Grimm raise hundreds of thousands of dollars from Pinto's congregation.

Weiner Says He Contacted FBI About Grimm

By John Stanton
Roll Call Staff
March 2, 2012, 6:04 p.m.

In the fall of 2010, then-Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) informed the FBI that now-Rep. Michael Grimm (R-N.Y.) was allegedly attempting to extort campaign contributions from a politically well-connected orthodox rabbi, Weiner said today.

Grimm has previously been accused of accepting questionable donations collected by a former associate of Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto. Weiner’s revelation would put Grimm, a former FBI agent himself, closer to the federal investigation surrounding Pinto’s former associates.

In an interview with Roll Call, Weiner said Pinto, who leads the popular Shuva Israel congregation, informed him in the early fall of 2010 that Grimm had attempted to extort money from him. Pinto’s ministries stretch from Israel to the United States and he splits his time between the two countries.

“I can confirm the Rabbi did bring allegations to me and I can confirm that I turned them over to the FBI immediately,” Weiner said.

He declined to comment on the specifics of his conversation with Pinto and the exact nature of Grimm’s alleged threats are unclear. However, sources familiar with the situation said it appears Grimm might have sought to use his status as a former FBI agent in pressuring Pinto.

Weiner resigned from Congress last year after it was discovered he had attempted to cover up the fact that he had sent inappropriate pictures to women using Twitter.

The FBI’s New York field office did not return a request for comment, and Pinto was unavailable for immediate comment.

William McGinley, a partner at the Patton Boggs law firm, flatly rejected the allegations on Grimm’s behalf.

“Anthony Weiner’s latest fantasy is preposterous and untrue. Consider the source: a former Democratic Member who resigned in disgrace after lying to the press and his constituents about someone hacking into his Twitter account and posting lewd images. Mr. Weiner’s false allegations about Congressman Grimm are no more credible than his original claims of innocence in WeinerGate,” McGinley said in a statement.

“The Democratic smear campaign against Congressman Grimm has officially jumped the shark. The allegations are so ridiculous that they are not worthy of a comment directly from Congressman Grimm,” he added.

McGinley also provided Roll Call with a Feb. 16 “Good Guy Letter” from the FBI that confirms Grimm worked with the agency and left in good standing. McGinley questioned why the FBI would provide the letter if Grimm were under investigation. However, the letter is narrowly written and appears to be specifically about the Congressman’s employment with the FBI.

In January, the New York Times reported that Grimm allegedly worked with Ofer Biton, a former associate and translator for Pinto, to collect $500,000 from Pinto’s congregations, many of whom are Israeli citizens.

Two daughters of former state and federal law enforcement official Edward Rodgers were awarded $2.319,400 yesterday, after a Denver judge and jury found that the women suffered years of abuse at the hands of their father.

The award to Sharon Simone, 45, and Susan Hammond, 44, followed testimony of Rodgers’ four daughters in person or through depositions, describing repeated physical abuse and sexual assaults by their father from 1944 through 1965.

Rodgers, 72, who became a child abuse expert after retiring from the FBI and joining the colorado Springs DA’s office, failed to appear for the trial. But in a deposition taken in March, Rodgers denied ever hitting or sexually abusing his children.

MOBILE, Ala. - Mobile Police arrested 52-year-old Phillip Kent Baxley on child indecency charges. Baxley is a local attorney in Mobile, but he's also a former coach and acting president for the Mobile Soccer Club.

"I'm surprised to hear it," said Mobile Soccer Club Director, Mohammed Elzare. "He's a former FBI agent and attorney. So we're definitely saddened to hear this."

Baxley was arrested at his Dauphin Street office on a fugitive felony warrant out of Harris County, Texas.

Texas police officers say Baxley was involved in an incident with a nine-year-old girl in 2004.
Investigators say it happened at a family member's house in a Houston suburb, but the girl waited some time before saying anything.

"When the victim, the nine-year-old made the outcry she was interviewed in another county and all of the information was forwarded to us and the investigation went from there," said Lt. Wade Conner with the Deer Park, Texas Police Department.

Mobile Soccer Club Board Members say they were blind-sided by the news on Monday. For now, the board likely plans to distance itself from Baxley.

"Stopping ties until this situation is resolved and hopefully it comes out to a good outcome," said Elzare.

But Texas investigators are confident the charges will stick, despite Baxley's background. "If they're a pedophile then we deal with them all the same," said Wade. "It doesn't matter what they do for a living."

Baxley is locked up in the Mobile County Jail. That's where he'll stay until he's extradited to Texas.

(CNN) -- A former supervisory FBI agent has been arrested and jailed on child pornography charges.

Donald Sachtleben was taken into custody and charged Monday after a nationwide undercover investigation of illegal child porn images traded over the Internet.

A federal complaint alleges 30 graphic images and video were found on Sachtleben's laptop computer late last week when FBI agents searched his home, about 23 miles north of Indianapolis.

Sachtleben is currently an Oklahoma State University visiting professor, according to his online resume. He is director of training at the school's Center for Improvised Explosives, but all references to his work have now been removed from the university's website. There was no indication from the school as to whether it had suspended him. Calls to the university and his Indianapolis attorneys were not immediately returned.

He had been an FBI special agent from 1983 to 2008, serving as a bomb technician. He worked on the Oklahoma City bombing and Unabomber investigations, according to his university biography.

A separate LinkedIn profile filled out by Sachtleben says he is an "accomplished investigator with more than 25 years of experience in FBI major case management, counter terrorism investigations, bombing prevention, post blast investigations and public speaking."

Samuel I. Kaplan, of Gainesville, who pleaded guilty June 2 in U.S. District Court in Alexandria, was sentenced to 46 months behind bars.

Kaplan was an information technology program manager at an FBI facility in Chantilly when authorities discovered that he had used the FBI's computer network to "facilitate sexually explict communications," the Justice Department said.

Investigators said they later found 10 to 20 images on Kaplan's home computer showing juveniles involved in sex acts.

FBI agent convicted of daughters' abuse
July 11, 1993|By Traci A. Johnson | Traci A. Johnson,Staff Writer

An FBI agent who lives in Carroll County has been convicted of sexually abusing his daughters over a 14-year period.

The agent, as part of an agreement with prosecutors, pleaded guilty Friday before Circuit Judge Francis M. Arnold to two counts of second-degree sexual offense and two counts of child abuse.

The agent's name is being withheld to protect the privacy of the victims.

In exchange for the agent's plea, the state dropped 18 other counts against him, ordered a presentence investigation and agreed to let him remain free on $125,000 bond pending sentencing Sept. 10.

The agent was suspended from the FBI's Baltimore field office when he was arrested in December.

The original indictment also charged the man with fondling his oldest daughter's friend several years ago when the girl had slept over at the agent's home.

An investigation began after one of the man's daughters told a county child-abuse investigator of at least five incidents of molestation from 1980 to 1987, court documents said.

The victims said their father performed sexual acts ranging from fondling to intercourse beginning when each was preschool age. The abuse lasted until the girls were in their early teens, said Assistant State's Attorney Kathi Hill in a statement of facts presented in court.

In February, defense attorney John E. Harris Sr. tried unsuccessfully to have the case moved out of Carroll on the grounds that pretrial publicity had damaged the defendant's chance for a fair trial.

Ms. Hill said the state will recommend a sentence of 35 years in state prison, with 15 years suspended.

Although Ms. Hill said she once argued that the agent should be incarcerated until his trial, she said Friday she was not worried about whether he will return for his sentencing.

"Even if he'd take a walk, when he eventually comes back he wouldn't have to be tried again. He'd just be sentenced," Ms. Hill said. "There's not so much fear on our part, because we don't have to prove the case again."

The state will ask the court, as part of the agent's sentence, to impose five years of supervised probation and order him to have no contact with females under 18 and to undergo psychological therapy.

Judge Arnold also accepted a plea agreement Friday in which a Mount Airy hairdresser admitted sexually abusing a teen-age boy he befriended in 1990.

David Curtis Flynn of Grimes Court in Mount Airy was immediately sentenced to four years in prison for a second-degree sexual offense.

From January 1991 to November 1992, Flynn had a sexual relationship with the boy, whose family knew and trusted the man, according to a statement of facts that Ms. Hill read in court.

The victim told authorities that Flynn talked to him before the incidents, saying he had been abused as a child, Ms. Hill said.

"I am deeply sorry . . . in my soul," Flynn said. "None of my attentions were meant as wrongdoing. I showed [the victim] the kind of love and affection I was brought up with. I'm deeply sorry for upsetting his childhood."

Judge Arnold sentenced Flynn to 10 years in state prison, then suspended six years of the term.

The judge also ordered five years of supervised probation for the defendant after the prison term and ordered him to participate in all recommended treatment programs.

Calif. FBI agent accused of paying for child prostitutes
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-wire ... fbi-agent/

GREG RISLING | September 24, 2012

LOS ANGELES — An undercover FBI agent has been accused in court documents of spending U.S. taxpayer dollars on prostitutes in the Philippines for himself and others during an international weapons trafficking probe last year.

Deputy Federal Public Defender John Littrell filed a motion last week asking a judge to toss an indictment against his client, Sergio Santiago Syjuco, for "outrageous government misconduct." Syjuco, 25, and two other Philippine nationals have been charged with conspiracy and face up to 20 years in prison.

The agent, who wasn't identified in court documents, paid up to $2,400 each time he went to brothels with Syjuco and others to reward them for their work to secure weapons to ship to the U.S. without a license, court documents show.

"I have never seen anything like this during my career as a criminal defense lawyer," Littrell told The Associated Press on Monday. "I hope that the Department of Justice takes these allegations seriously, does a complete investigation, and ensures that whoever authorized this outrageous misconduct is held accountable."

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller declined comment Monday, but federal prosecutors acknowledged in court documents that the agent sought nearly $15,000 in reimbursements for "entertainment" and other expenses related to the investigation. The prosecutors said they don't have any receipts from the clubs, but two of them listed in the filing, "Air Force One" and "Area 51," are suspected brothels.

No charges have been filed against the agent.

Syjuco, Cesar Ubaldo and Arjyl Revereza, a Philippines customs official, were charged earlier this year with violating arms import laws by selling a grenade launcher, a mortar launcher and other weapons to the undercover agent who said he was interested in buying high-powered weapons that could be used by drug cartels in the U.S. and Mexico.

The case was part of a federal investigation of Asian organized crime groups involved in the illicit trafficking of firearms.

The weapons were eventually loaded onto a ship that arrived at the Port of Long Beach in June 2011 and the items were seized by authorities.

Littrell argues that the agent – and none of the three defendants – arranged importing the weapons to the U.S. He also questioned why the weapons were first shipped from the Philippines to China, where it wasn't known whether officials there checked the container, before arriving in the U.S.

Littrell and an investigator recently visited the Philippines and interviewed several people who claim the agent, using an alias "Richard Han," paid for himself and others to have sex with prostitutes. Alex Escosio, who worked at Area 51, told defense attorneys that Han "always paid for everything, including alcohol, private rooms, food and girls for the entire group of people he brought in," court documents show.

"Although the government represents that these expenditures were for `entertainment and cocktail (tips included),' it is impossible that the agent could not have known that they money went toward prostitutes," Littrell wrote in court documents.

Area 51 was raided in May by Philippine authorities where 60 victims of sex trafficking were rescued, some of whom were underage girls, Littrell said. At least seven people were arrested.

Sometimes I tend to view FBI news stories regarding arrests they make in light of the FBI has an agent

getting caught with his pants down so a bust is conveniently made to overshadow the greater crime committed by the FBI agent.

Were FBI Agent’s Texts Intentionally Destroyed in Gun Trafficking Sting in Philippines?

see link for full story see link above for Lawyers complaint

http://www.ticklethewire.com/2012/10/17 ... ilippines/

The question is: Were the text messages sent by an undercover FBI agent to defendants in an 18-month gun trafficking sting in the Philippines destroyed by the government or was there merely a technical glitch that prevented them from being saved?

Deputy Federal Defender John Littrell suggests in a court document filed Monday in Los Angeles federal court that the government may have destroyed the text messages. The government, according to Littrell’s motion, claims it was a glitch: that the phone the agent used only retained incoming texts from the defendants, but not the outgoing ones by the agent.

Littrell says he needs the FBI agent’s texts to help prove that his client, Sergio Santiago Syjuco of Philippines and two co-defendants, were entrapped by the agent who he says used humiliaton and threats to get them to help traffick guns to the U.S. The trial is pending.

The case has already stirred some controversy. Littrell in filings weeks earlier alleged that the undercover agent used taxpayer dollars to pay for hookers in the Philippines for himself and the three co-defendants, and that some of the prostitutes where they went were underage. The agent responded in court documents, calling the allegations about the hookers pure nonsense.

On this latest allegations, Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI in Los Angeles said Wednesday night: “The government will respond to the allegations in court.”

In the motion, the defense attorney writes that the government produced as part of the exculpatory evidence, 419 pages of photographs of incoming text messages sent from the defendants to the undercover agent. However, he noted that the government failed to produce any text messages from the agent to the defendant, evidence he says could prove the men were entrapped.

Littrell writes in the court filing:

“The government’s bad faith in destroying the evidence should be inferred based on the lack of any persuasive explanation as to why all incoming text messages were preserved by the government, and none of the outgoing messages.”

“”Because the defense of entrapment will be presented to the jury, the precise contents of the statements of both the defendants and the undercover agent and the context in which those statements were made, will be critical at trial. ”

“On September 11, 2012, co-counsel George Buehler inquired of Assistant United States Attorney Margaret Vierbuchen why she had produced only photographs of incoming text messages from the undercover agent’s phone, and not the outgoing messages. Ms. Vierbuchen responded by stating that the cellular telephone used by the agent preserved only incoming messages and not outgoing

“Defense counsel has discussed the government’s claim with an expert, and the expert has indicated that this is unlikely. The government has offered no other explanation as to why none of the outgoing text messages sent by the undercover agent during his 18 month investigation have been preserved.”

Usually text message on phones show a string of incoming and outgoing text messages.

Is Barrett Brown the Threatening One, or Is It the Guys Who Locked Him Up?
After the "Anonymous Spokesman's"arrest, toeing the line between speech and threats.
By Jim Schutze Thursday, Oct 18 2012

Last year, D Magazine Editor Tim Rogers wrote a portrait of Barrett Brown, who claims to be a spokesman for the hacktivist group Anonymous. Rogers won a much-deserved National Magazine Award for the piece, from which emerged a bright, alternately charming and irritating, always interesting, profoundly screwed-up young man. My first thought was, "The paper should hire this guy." (That was before I got to the part about him being a heroin addict.)

Can't now, anyway. He's in the federal pen. Brown, 31, was arrested on September 13, then indicted October 3, on charges of making Internet threats and conspiring to publish "restricted personal information of an employee of the United States."

Anonymous Spokesman Barrett Brown Was Arrested in Dallas Last Night

Brown posted a video on September 12, the day before he was raided and arrested in his apartment, saying all kinds of crazy shit about a particular FBI agent, who apparently had searched and raided Brown's mother's home months before.

I'll get to what he said. But hang with me for a second, so we can get the sequence down. The raid on Brown's mother's home took place last March. According to what Brown later said, and according to what my own source close to the matter has told me, federal agents may have seized Brown's laptop in that raid.

The source told me that the laptop was hidden in some dishes in the mother's house, and that the FBI has now accused the mother of helping to hide it. (Note to self: Mom's dishes no good for hiding.)

So why was the FBI raiding his mom's house in the first place? I called the FBI, of course, and spokesperson Katherine Chaumont told me that she could not comment on the Brown investigation, of course. We really need a different name for those FBI spokespeople.

Why the raid? None of the allegedly threatening online speech referenced in the October 3 indictment took place before the March raid. (I tried to reach Brown's mother or attorney and was not successful.)

According to this source, the March raid had nothing to do with threats or speech on the Internet. It was, says the source, all about Anonymous, the international hacker group organized as autonomous cells connected by the Internet.

Anonymous is sort of related, sort of not related, to Occupy Wall Street. The group became famous in 2008 after mounting a series of Internet sabotage campaigns against credit card companies in support of Wikileaks. They also attacked Scientology, carried out cyber attacks against the Pentagon and, most unthinkable of all, threatened to hurt Facebook.

I want to go back to Rogers' profile of Brown, because I think it remains the best personal examination of a person who claims publicly to be associated with Anonymous. Why would Anonymous have a spokesman anyway? It's not like they're the Masons.

In fact, there are people who claim to be associated with Anonymous who claim that Brown is a phony, a so-called "name-fag" falsely associating himself with Anonymous so he can get guys like Rogers to write about him.

Here is the one indisputable fact about Brown: He's fragile. He's on heroin. He's off heroin. He's on withdrawal drugs. He's off them. And he wants to talk about all of it. He's 31, and he still wants to talk about his parents' divorce. His benighted mother is still cleaning up his apartment for him.

On YouTube, he looks high. The online chat in which he was engaged when the cops raided his apartment sounded like junkies mumbling in a public bathroom.

He is either a weak link or, if he's not really linked to anything, just weak. But weak he is.

In March, at about the time of the raid on Brown's mom's house in Dallas, the FBI brought criminal charges against four people in England and Ireland associated with a hacker group called Lulzsec, maybe an offshoot or associated somehow with Anonymous. At that time it became known that the FBI had a mole inside the group.

So, March 2011. The FBI's maybe got some teeth into Anonymous. Agents in Dallas go get the laptop of self-described Anonymous spokesman Barrett Brown from inside his mom's dish cabinet. Brown goes crazier.

The FBI agent who is the object of Brown's threats has been named by some news sources, by the way, but his name is redacted in the indictment. I'm going with the redaction because otherwise I have to trust the other news sources.

After the raid on his mom's dishes, Brown publishes writing and video of himself saying the following things about Agent Redacted: "Threat to put my mom in prison last mistake Agent Redacted will ever fucking make.

"That's why Agent Redacted's life is over, but when I say his life is over I don't say I'm going to kill him, but I am going to ruin his life and look into his fucking kids."

Yeah, well, it sure sounds like he's saying he's going to kill him and mess with his family, doesn't it? Even with the not-so-clever codicil.

But, look, you and I are lay persons where freedom of speech is concerned. The fact is that one hell of a lot of very outrageous ugly speech is allowed and tolerated by law in this country as "protected speech" under the First Amendment.

NY FBI Agent Charged With Trying to Derail Fraud Probe into Business Partner
see link for full story

http://www.ticklethewire.com/2012/10/19 ... s-partner/

An FBI agent was charged with using his position to try and derail a federal probe into a business partner, the Justice Department announced.

A federal grand jury in Salt Lake City on Thursday charged FBI special agent Robert G. Lustyik Jr., 50, of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.; Michael L. Taylor, 51, of Harvard, Mass., the principal of Boston-based American International Security Corporation (AISC); and Johannes W. Thaler, 49, of New Fairfield, Conn., each with one count of conspiracy, eight counts of honest services wire fraud, one count of obstructing justice and one count of obstructing an agency proceeding.

“According to the indictment, while active in the FBI, former Special Agent Lustyik used his position in an attempt to stave off the criminal investigation of a business partner with whom he was pursuing lucrative security and energy contracts,” said Assistant Attorney General Breuer in a statement. “He allegedly acted through a childhood friend to secure promises of cash, purported medical expenses and business proceeds in exchange for abusing his position as an FBI agent. The alleged conduct is outrageous, and we will do everything we can to ensure that justice is done in this case.”

According to the indictment, Lustyik, who was an agent until September, was assigned to counterintelligence work in White Plains, N.Y.
