Turkey's premier hospital mortality for Covid under 1%; NYC's hospital mortality 20%/ BBC

Turkey started testing early, with rapid results.  They did case-finding and quarantines, and they used hydroxychloroquine as soon as someone got sick. Mortality in a premier hospital in Turkey for Covid-19 is under 1%.  Mortality in New York hospitals for Covid-19 cases has been reported here and here as 20%.

The BBC goes into depth on how Turkey handled the pandemic.  Definitely worth a read.

After the Lockdown, the Jailbreak

Submitted by editor on 10 June 2020 - 01:32pm
What's going on? We had lockdown; we've got jailbreak.
But the prisoners aren’t running away; they’re marching, chanting, getting rearrested for the cause of justice. They’re risking infection. In fact, they’re embracing a new infection: people power. Their risk is not in trying to reopen an economy but to rebirth social justice, racial justice, a just economy. Any regime, even a corrupt one, can create a burgeoning economy; only a democracy can build social justice.
What’s going on? America has  gagged on itself. Three more murders of innocent, unarmed Black people - Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd.  Too much to swallow. The right response?  A great paroxysm,  a struggling, heaving effort to expel the gnarled mass of our indigestible hobgoblin history. Not easy. Every organ of the body politic is complicit, bound into systems of wealth and labor exploitation, racial oppression, environmental desecration, militarism,  freedom of giant corporations to engineer a society for their own benefit.  Time to regurgitate,  turn ourselves inside out.
What’s going on? It’s not the coronavirus lockdown that’s being challenged now. It’s 400 years of lockdown in hypocrisy.  No matter who you are, what color you are, what ethnicity, winner or loser, perpetrator or victim, we all have been trapped in the same history - unable to fully admit it, unable to break free of it. The exalted claims of this history habitually insult its reality. For native people, black people, all people of color, all the marginalized - finally a reckoning.
What’s going on?  The campaign for president is not assaulting us with billion dollar ads, dark money PACs, talking points, talking heads,  and spin doctors.  Not being run by manipulation and bullshit. The campaign is being waged by the people in the streets - exuberant, raw, messy. Not mail-in ballots, but march in. If there’s finally an effective antidote to cynicism, it’s people in the streets. Many politicians are in denial, trying to shut it down (How dare the people direct their own country!), or they are trotting along behind, hoping to catch up with the right message. Even the opportunists, the provocateurs of both the left and the right, are not able to derail the  people’s will of love and anger, grief and hope, resistance and redirection.
What’s going on? Extreme times produce extreme situations. We see a contemporary version of lions lying down with the lambs - the cops kneeling with the protesters. Looks like compassion and understanding. Yes, but it’s also power being reconfigured.  And have we ever seen anything more strange, more ludicrous or pathetic, than the Devil holding up the Bible to justify God-given authority for using violence against peaceful demonstrators? (Even stranger would be this same Devil laying his right hand on the Bible and swearing to tell the truth.)  But hasn’t that image - the Devil with his Bible - always haunted this country? Isn’t that the trope Trump was channeling?  White supremacy holding up the Bible to justify slavery, lynching and Jim Crow; men holding up the Bible to justify dominating women; corporations holding up the Bible to sanctify the destruction of nature; creationists holding up the Bible to disprove evolutionary science; militarists holding up the Bible proclaiming that God loves war; prigs holding up the Bible to command sexual conformity. We can be damn sure our current Devil has never read any further into the Bible  than the KKK’s Grand Dragon has read into the Declaration of Independence.
I was a young activist in the 1960's, marching, protesting, committing civil disobedience in the struggle for civil rights and ending the Vietnam War. But I’ve never seen the sudden vibrancy nor persistent urgency of this moment. A perfect storm: Trump, appalling racist murders, 110,000 COVID-19 deaths and  all the inequalities the pandemic exposes, failure to act on the climate crisis, Mitch McConnell, a handful of billionaires having more wealth than the rest of the country combined, the stock market rising while millions suffer and lose their jobs, a government refusing to solve problems so it can play off the divisions it causes.
So what’s going on? Where there’s a vacuum of wisdom, compassion, decency, justice,  equality, care and honesty, the people flood in.

WHO trial using potentially fatal hydroxychloroquine dose--according to WHO consultant

The Solidarity Trial is a WHO-led conglomeration of many national trials of treatments for Covid-19.
As of 3 June 2020, more than 3500 patients have been recruited in 35 countries, with over 400 hospitals actively recruiting patients. Overall, over 100 countries have joined or expressed an interest in joining the trial, and WHO is actively supporting 60 of them...
The hydroxychloroquine arm has been reinstated, after being halted  May 25 by WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros and the Executive Group of the Solidarity Trial. (This action was performed, allegedly on the basis of the Lancet Surgisphere study, which exploded when no one could verify that the Surgisphere database existed).  It was reinstated on June 3.

Below are the drugs being tested in Solidarity.

●       Remdesivir
●       Hydroxychloroquine
●       Lopinavir with Ritonavir
●       Lopinavir with Ritonavir plus Interferon beta-1a.

However, doses were not specified on WHO's list of the drugs to be trialed, nor were the doses specified, surprisingly, in WHO's consultation on chloroquine dosing, dated April 8.

Last week, I was alerted to the fact that India's ICMR, its official medical research agency, had written to the WHO, telling WHO that the hydroxychloroquine doses being used in the Solidarity trial were 4 times higher than the doses being used in India.  Then I learned that Singapore has been hesitant to participate in the WHO trial, due to the hydroxychloroquine dose.

The UK "Recovery" trial was one part of the international Solidarity conglomeration of clinical trials.  Its Study Protocol notes it is funded in part by the Wellcome Trust and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and by UK government agencies.  It further provides the doses of hydroxychloroquine used, on page 22.  This specified the precise dose used, which I could not find anywhere on the WHO website.

However, Co-Principal Investigators of Recovery, Drs. Peter Horby and Martin Landray, Oxford professors, claimed they followed WHO dosing.  Landray also told Paris Soir he was using the same dose used for amebiasis.  However, the accepted HCQ amebiasis dose is used only in liver abscess and only then in pregnancy, when other drugs cannot be used.  That dose is 600 mg per day for 2 days, then 300 mg per day.

Here is the Recovery dose:  800mg of HCQ initial dose, 800 mg six hours later, 400 mg 6 hrs later, 400 mg 6 hours later, then 400 mg every 12 hours for a total of ten days' treatment.

This equates to 2400 mg HCQ in the first 24 hours, and a total of 9200 mg over the full ten days of use.

We also know, from an official Belgian document issued June 8 about their trial, that high doses were used not only by Recovery in the UK, but also by the Discovery trial in the EU and by the WHO.

We also know that in Brazil, a high dose and a low dose were trialed, and after 8 days the high dose arm was stopped due to an excess of deaths.  The low dose trial continues in Brazil.

We also know that the UK Recovery HCQ trial ended earlier than the other arms of the trial, on JUne 5, when it was reported that there was no benefit for HCQ in over 1500 hospitalized patients, who had a crude in-hospital mortality of 25%.

How is the drug normally used?  For chronic systemic lupus or rheumatoid arthritis the dose is usually between 200 and 400 mg daily.  In acute Q fever 600 mg daily may be given early in treatment.

We also know from WHO's consultation on chloroquine dosing that the Gates Foundation had been studying dosing, and 5 of the 26 people at the WHO meeting where it was decided to add chlorquines to the Solidarity treatment protocol were from the Gates Foundation.  The only treatment dose mentioned in their report was in a paragraph about preventive doses.  It then said, "Higher doses would be considered for treatment, i.e., 10mg/kg base, followed by 5mg/kg twice daily for seven days."

What is the "base"?  A 200 mg dose of chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine contains 155 mg "base" drug.

The typical 70 kg person would therefore receive 700 mg base or a little less than 900 mg of the drug as a loading dose.
Generally, a loading dose refers only to a first dose, not to several additional doses within 24 hours, but it can potentially refer to more.

One of four who participated in the chloroquine dosing meeting were from the Gates Foundation.

What is a toxic dose?  All experts agree that there is a narrow therapeutic to toxic window for this drug.  It is very safe when used correctly in the right patients, but just a bit more can potentially kill.  Prof. Nicholas White, who attended the first WHO consultation on chloroquines, mentioned this.

The WHO hired a consultant to explore the toxicity of hydroxychloroquine in 1979.  I have reproduced the report cover below.  The consultant, H. Weniger, looked at 335 episodes of poisoning.  Weniger concluded that "1.5-2 grams of hydroxychloroquine base "may be fatal."  The Recovery trial used 1.860 mg base in the first 24 hours, for treatment of very ill Covid-19 patients.  A potentially lethal dose.

This dose is not considered a therapeutic dose in any of the literature I examined, including the Goodman and Gilman Pharmacology book 10th edition, the drug label, the online medical encyclopedia UptoDate.

The WHO Solidarity trials, in order to rapidly enroll patients without a lot of paperwork, collect only limited information on side effects.  Recovery has not issued any informatin regarding cause of death, so far, in the patients in its HCQ arm, nearly 400 of whom have died.

Abstract
We are currently witnessing a major epidemic caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The evolution of 2019-nCoV remains elusive. We found 4 insertions in the spike glycoprotein (S) which are unique to the 2019-nCoV and are not present in other coronaviruses. Importantly, amino acid residues in all the 4 inserts have identity or similarity to those in the HIV-1 gp120 or HIV-1 Gag. Interestingly, despite the inserts being discontinuous on the primary amino acid sequence, 3D-modelling of the 2019-nCoV suggests that they converge to constitute the receptor binding site. The finding of 4 unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV, all of which have identity /similarity to amino acid residues in key structural proteins of HIV-1 is unlikely to be fortuitous in nature. This work provides yet unknown insights on 2019-nCoV and sheds light on the evolution and pathogenicity of this virus with important implications for diagnosis of this virus.

Looking into Higher Dimensions: Research with Joseph McMoneagle
Ronald Bryan*
Department of Physics, Texas A&M University College Station, Texas 77843-4242 September 7, 2007
Abstract
A world-class remote viewer, Joseph McMoneagle, offered to work with me in my particle-physics research program. I readily consented, as I thought that he might be able to see neutrinos, resolve particles' features at nuclear distances, and see into higher dimensions. To “calibrate” McMoneagle, I asked him three things (in sealed envelopes which he did not open): to look inside an electron, examine a radioactive source, and describe a quantum-mechanical wavefunction. He gave credible or useful information on all three targets.
We were now ready to look at a real mystery, how a cosmic ray could have arrived over Dugway Flats, Utah in 1991 with an energy E = ( 3.2 ± 0.9) 10 20 eV as
measured by the Fly's Eye Detector from the size of the atmospheric shower that the cosmic ray produced. With an energy this high, the cosmic ray should have scattered off the 3K photons left over from the Big Bang until its energy
dropped below about 0.51020eV, the GZK bound. Instead the ray arrived with six times this energy, indicating that it had traveled less than a few hundred million light years in the CMBR soup. Yet looking along the direction from whence it came revealed no possible sources within that distance.
Using his “inner” senses, McMoneagle zeroed in on the shower and saw that it had the pointed shape of a shock wave corresponding to a velocity several times that of light. With a speed this high, the ray had to have come from outside our four local dimensions of space-time, suggesting that it entered our local space right over Utah and never ran the gauntlet of Big Bang photons.
key words — particle physics, remote viewing, higher dimensional space-time, inner senses

The Politics of Hydroxychloroquine. The FDA has suspended a permit for its use. Let doctors decide/ WSJ

The Politics of Hydroxychloroquine
Trump touted it, so Biden denounces it. The FDA has suspended a permit for its use. Let doctors decide.

Hubert Humphrey began his career as a pharmacist before going into politics. Today’s politicians sometimes seem to have the opposite aspiration. President Trump “pushes dangerous, disproven drugs,” Joe Biden declares in his “Plan to Beat Covid-19.” “Our country is now stuck with a massive stockpile of hydroxychloroquine, a drug Trump repeatedly hailed.”

Deaths in the entire United States "involving Covid" equal the number of deaths in NYC at its peak/ CDC
The CDC provides updated US death data on 7/24/20 "involving Covid" (2nd column) @ https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

Deaths in the US have been FLAT or DECREASING over the last five weeks. Why aren't you hearing this? Because the media want to instill panic so they talk about rising cases (many asymptomatic, based on often inaccurate lab tests). We are not having "3 New Yorks" as Dr. Birx claimed. The fact is that the entire US is now having as many deaths per week as New York City had during its peak in early April.
Got that? The entire US equals ONE New York. See CDC data below.

"The Key to Defeating COVID-19 Already Exists. We Need to Start Using It"/ Newsweek/ Harvey Risch, MD, PhD, Yale professor of epidemiology
The following is the text of Professor Harvey Risch's opinion piece in yesterday's issue of Newsweek.
As professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, I have authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and currently hold senior positions on the editorial boards of several leading journals. I am usually accustomed to advocating for positions within the mainstream of medicine, so have been flummoxed to find that, in the midst of a crisis, I am fighting for a treatment that the data fully support but which, for reasons having nothing to do with a correct understanding of the science, has been pushed to the sidelines. As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.
I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.
On May 27, I published an article in the American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE) entitled, "Early Outpatient Treatment of Symptomatic, High-Risk COVID-19 Patients that Should be Ramped-Up Immediately as Key to the Pandemic Crisis." The hybrid scenario: kids return to school several days per week: Are You Kidding Me?
Covid has brought out the finest in government mismanagement. Now it is being applied to schools.

Does anyone believe the notion that students will be safer attending school 2 or 3 days a week, instead of 5? Who dreamed this up? Do they think if your child inhales 1/2 as much virus, or uses the public bathrooms half as often, they will be appreciably safer? Do the schools think that a "deep cleaning" (whatever that is, since it is undefined), even done daily, is going to stop viral transmission? There are no data that say it will.

“Hybrid" schooling still prevents parents from going back to work, so it does serve the purpose of reducing economic activity. In other words, it perpetuates the economic crash that the lockdowns initiated. This, by the way, has a very adverse effect on lots of children.

One school I heard about is planning to build plexiglass partitions around each desk, on 3 sides, with 6 feet between the children. I think they are also cancelling lunchroom, recess and sports. Some are requiring masks all day, even on kindergartners.

The 6' distance rule is a totally arbitrary creation invented by CDC, after their prior 3' rule was proven to be bogus during the Ebola epidemic. See my 2014 post on this. There is no science to support it. You heard me right. It is invented out of thin air, an expensive charade, to make everyone think that Covid risks can be controlled. But, only with extreme measures...like halving classroom size and ruining the economy.

Yet most schools are stuck with inadequate ventilation systems. Kids at most schools will be highly exposed to viral transmission via aerosols (small particles containing virus that can remain suspended in air for hours). But only rarely is this discussed.

We are supposed to think the extreme measures are going to solve the transmission problem. However, kids will be kids, no matter what rules are imposed. Their masks will do nothing, if they even stay on. They will find ways to play with each other. We can't turn them into robots, and we should not be trying.

Can we please have some common sense regarding schools?

As of July 14, only ONE child in Canada had died from Covid. As of July 19, only 29 Americans under age 14 had died of Covid.

Between 110 and 188 American children died yearly from influenza in the past four years.
Click on image to launch interactive tool

So far, Covid has been a rare disease for children. I read in two places that a) 50% and b) 70% of children who died from Covid had a preexisting condition. Multiple studies that have examined child to child, and child to adult transmission of Covid, are published in the current issue of the journal Pediatrics, They found that spread of Covid by children is a rare event. The review concludes:
Almost 6 months into the pandemic, accumulating evidence and collective experience argue that children, particularly school-aged children, are far less important drivers of SARSCoV-2 transmission than adults. Therefore, serious consideration should be paid toward strategies that allow schools to remain open, even during periods of COVID-19 spread. In doing so, we could minimize the potentially profound adverse social, developmental, and health costs that our children will continue to suffer until an effective treatment or vaccine can be developed and distributed or, failing that, until we reach herd immunity.
Public health is supposed to be about balancing risks and benefits, and choosing interventions that will clearly provide a net overall benefit. Hybrid schooling is not a public health measure. It’s just another expensive charade.

While some children and teachers will no doubt get Covid in schools, and a few will die, that is what happens in life. Some students and teachers die each year from flu, or pneumonia, accidents, cancer. We can't stop this. We should stop pretending that we can.

Once children have been exposed to Covid, the vast majority (probably 99+%) will have asymptomatic disease or a mild case. And then they will be immune, and then we can relax our fear for them. Isn't that a better outcome?

Either keep children locked up at home, or send them back to a regular school program, in which the risk to children and teachers exists, but is very low.

Can we follow the facts, and have an honest discussion about this?

Masks: Data and Opinions in the US and Europe

There is a lot of published evidence that surgical masks, which are equivalent to dust masks, and are basically the same as the cloth masks we are now wearing, provide little or no protection to the wearer against respiratory viruses.

Current dogma is that they are supposed to protect others from your exhaled viruses and secretions. While there is no reliable evidence that they do so, it makes sense that they trap your 'globs' of saliva. Then the globs are slowly released as smaller particles, back into your airway as well as out to others'.

Possibly masks provide a modicum of protection to the wearer, but they do not provide much. Too many studies (over ten) have shown this.

While the N95 masks do protect the wearer, the data showing this relied on doctors and nurses using them ONCE, for one patient, going into their room (usually a negative pressure room, which itself reduces viral and bacterial counts) ONCE. BRIEFLY. Then the 75 cent mask is thrown away.

The masks that were effective were absolutely dry, the level of mask contamination, if any, was low grade, and the healthcare workers knew where the contamination might be coming from. They did not wear the masks for long periods and expect them to prevent aerosol (aka tiny particle) transmission, which might be coming from any direction. They did not fiddle with the masks to improve comfort, because they probably only wore them for, say, 5 minutes at a time. They did not contaminate their fingers by repetitively taking them on and off, as I no doubt did when I shopped at half a dozen stores yesterday.

Also, hospitals are required to 'fit test' employees with the masks. You are tested with a visible gas, to ensure you maintain a tight fit around the entire mask-skin margin. If air leaks in around (rather than just coming through) the mask, the mask is not expected to work. People with beards are considered unable to use N95 masks correctly.

Governments had to "do" something, so they imposed masks. It is a visible symbol of governments assisting in Covid prevention, and a symbol that we, as individuals, are sharing in a mutual assistance effort.

Does masking cause harm? It probably reduces the level of activity that is possible for those with substantial heart or lung disease. It is a problem for those with claustrophobia and some other types of anxiety. There are reports of other medical problems, but since universal masking, especially outdoors, has never happened before, there is not a lot of reliable data.

The mask gives us the desperately sought sense that we are not powerless against the ravages of this virus.

---------------

Remember, back in late February, the CDC advised against wearing facemarks to prevent Covid. Later CDC changed its tune.

What is Going on in the Rest of the World?

“All these countries recommending face masks haven’t made their decisions based on new studies,” said Henning Bundgaard, chief physician at Denmark’s Rigshospitale, according to Bloomberg News. (Denmark has since updated its guidelines to encourage, but not require, the use of masks on public transit where social distancing may not be possible.)
Denmark is not alone.
Despite a global stampede of mask-wearing, data show that 80-90 percent of people in Finland and Holland say they “never” wear masks when they go out, a sharp contrast to the 80-90 percent of people in Spain and Italy who say they “always” wear masks when they go out.
Dutch public health officials recently explained why they’re not recommending masks.
"From a medical point of view, there is no evidence of a medical effect of wearing face masks, so we decided not to impose a national obligation," said Medical Care Minister Tamara van Ark.
Others, echoing statements similar to the US Surgeon General from early March, said masks could make individuals sicker and exacerbate the spread of the virus.
“Face masks in public places are not necessary, based on all the current evidence,” said Coen Berends, spokesman for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. “There is no benefit and there may even be negative impact.”
In Sweden, where COVID-19 deaths have slowed to a crawl, public health officials say they see “no point” in requiring individuals to wear masks.
“With numbers diminishing very quickly in Sweden, we see no point in wearing a face mask in Sweden, not even on public transport,” said Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s top infectious disease expert.
---------------
Wearing a mask helps us feel we have some control in this crazy, upside down world that we now inhabit. It is a talisman, and a badge of solidarity with our fellow humans. It comforts us, making us feel safer. And in our heightened surveillance state, it often defeats facial recognition algorithms. But it probably does very little else.

UPDATE: From the BBC:
Fifty million face masks bought by the UK government in April will not be used in the NHS because of safety concerns. The government says the masks, which use ear-loop fastenings rather than head loops, may not fit tightly enough. They were bought for NHS England healthcare workers from supplier Ayanda Capital as part of a £252m contract.Ayanda says the masks met the specifications No 10 had set out. The PM said he was "disappointed" that any protective kit should be unfit for use.
UPDATE: More information on making an effective mask from ConsumerLab can be found here. Also, CL writes,
An analysis of rates of growth of COVID-19 infection in U.S. states found that the mandated use of masks in public issued by 15 states in April and May, 2020 was associated with a decline of about 1% in the daily COVID-19 growth rate within the first week of the mandates and a 2% decline 21+ days after mandates were issued.

Why doctors and researchers need access to hydroxychloroquine / The Hill

HTTPS://THEHILL.COM/OPINION/HEALTHCARE/ ... HLOROQUINE

BY PETER A. MCCULLOUGH, M.D., OPINION CONTRIBUTOR — 08/07/20 10:30 AM

THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY CONTRIBUTORS ARE THEIR OWN AND NOT THE VIEW OF THE HILL

On July 6, a team of doctors from Henry Ford Hospital,
supported by physicians from Baylor University Medical Center, submitted an urgent request to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reauthorize use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for early treatment of COVID-19. Since that day, more than 25,000 more Americans have died from the virus as COVID-19 continues to burn through communities across America. If the results of a recent Henry Ford Hospital study are accurate, at least half of these patients might have been saved by HCQ.
Since the pandemic from China first hit America with brute force early in March, it has become apparent to physicians that the medicine works best when — as with any anti-infective agent — it is given early in the

PLANDEMIC 2 | INDOCTORNATION

Today Science mag reported that NIH is seeking information on whether the Wuhan lab "had SARS-Cov-2 in its possession prior to December 2019"... Today I was libeled for saying I believed SARS-2 came from a lab

Today's Science Magazine describes how the NIH is seeking information on the specific SARS-Coronaviruses held at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. NIH had funded the Wuhan lab using the 'non-profit' EcoHealth Alliance (EHA,whose CEO Peter Daszac earned $400,000 yearly). The complete role of EcoHealth Alliance has yet to be fully explained, and NIH terminated its grant several months ago. Now NIH says EHA can have the money back, but only if it provides information on the provenance of coronaviruses in the Wuhan lab:

"Last month, NIH Deputy Director for Extramural Research Michael Lauer sent the EcoHealth Alliance a letter stating the agency was reinstating the grant, but also instantly suspending it again pending the completion of certain actions. (ScienceInsider has now independently reviewed a copy of the 8 July letter.) Among the conditions included:

· The EcoHealth Alliance must provide a sample of the pandemic coronavirus that WIV used to determine its genetic sequence.
· The group must arrange for an outside inspection of WIV and its records “with specific attention to addressing the question of whether WIV staff had SARS-CoV-2 in their possession prior to December 2019,” Lauer wrote.
· The nonprofit must explain purported restrictions at WIV including “diminished cell-phone traffic in October 2019, and the evidence that there may have been roadblocks surrounding the facility from October 14-19, 2019.”

Clearly the US National Institutes of Health suspects SARS-Cov-2 may have come from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Yesterday the documentary Plandemic 2 was released, in which I said I believed SARS-CoV-2 came from a lab. Today I have been attacked by the so-called "fact-checkers" for being misleading and spreading false information and conspiracy theories. Yet besides the NIH, Newsweek, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and various journals, magazines, and web pages have discussed the likely lab origin of SARS-CoV-2. I would suggest that the real conspirators are trying to cover up a lab origin, so they can continue their gain-of-function (a metaphor to obfuscate what used to be known as biological warfare) research, endangering the planet.

Paradoxically, the argument being used against me by each fact-checking site I have investigated is one I debunked back in March and April. The argument has been widely criticized as nonsensical, and furnishes evidence of a conspiracy to impose the "natural origin" story. Read those 2 old posts of mine.

Even back in March, Nature magazine wrote, "scientists believe that an animal is the most likely source of the coronavirus."

Bottom line: there is no direct evidence that the virus came from a lab, but there are many aspects of its genome that are not explained by natural selection. I have discussed this at length in my blog. There is also no direct evidence it did not come from a lab. It is an open question. But I am not allowed to tell an audience I "believe" the virus came from a lab. Where is the conspiracy?

The MATH Plus treatment protocol for hospitalized Covid patients

This protocol was developed by Dr. Paul Marik and additional colleagues over the past few months, and their results were published last week.  They report a mortality rate of 5.1% in hospitalized Covid patients using the protocol, which notably does include zinc.  Compared to other, historical data from hospitalized Covid patients, this is a 75% reduction in mortality.

The protocol does not include HCQ, as I was told the protocol is intended for the late treatment of Covid, and since HCQ performs best in early treatment, its use might have muddied the waters regarding the benefits this (less controversial) treatment protocol provides.

Peter Breggin has supplied extensive legal documents on the challenge to Ohio's restrictive measures on Covid
Peter Breggin and his wife Ginger have amassed a library of materials on many aspects of Covid. They were among the first to notice the questionable origin of the virus, and collected academic papers showing how aspects of the current Coronavirus had been created in labs around the world, often with funding from the US government, but also funded by the EU, Australia, China and others.

Last week he and a group of lawyers filed a huge brief in Ohio on the HCQ restrictions, and challenged a series of other emergency measures applied in Ohio. Below is this collection.

Roughly 500,000 Americans, who were not previous users, got HCQ scripts in March and April--at the time 1 M cases were diagnosed
The CDC has just released information, in its MMWR Weekly Report, on the prescribing of hydroxychloroquine in March and April in the US.

Approximately 500,000 prescriptions dispensed by retail pharmacies were "new," or dispensed to persons who had not received a previous prescription of the medication in the prior 12 months. These are presumed to have been in response to Covid-19.

By April 30, there were 1,075,000 confirmed or probable Covid cases in the US.

CDC's report has not examined how many of those receiving HCQ also tested positive for Covid.

Nonetheless, it appears that a considerable number of Americans and their physicians saw value in using the drug to prevent or treat Covid, especially compared to the number of total known cases. Where are their voices now? Did the medication help? Hurt?

The rest of the country is dying to know.

Hydroxychloroquine: the EVIDENCE you have nothing to worry about. Doctors must speak up!
For those who are worried about the “harms" caused by hydroxychloroquine—have you taken it? Prescribed it for a family member with Covid? Prescribed it for probably 200+ patients over 2 decades? Studied the literature? Well, I have done all of these.

Here are 3 recent studies discounting the drug’s cardiac toxicity:

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... 3620305288

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... 20155531v2

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... 7520300998

If you lack a solid grounding in this medication, which BTW was being tested for many dozens of different conditions including obesity, cancer, heart disease prevention, miscarriage prevention, and osteoarthritis BEFORE Covid hit, because it was so very safe, even in pregnancy (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14613284/), and potentially effective for them (see https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/results? ... ity=&dist=), then please inform yourself. Clinical trials.gov today lists 500 trials ongoing or completed using HCQ.

The true harms of HCQ appear to be no greater than for drugs like the OTC NSAIDS (ibuprofen, aleve). The excessive harms that have been claimed were pulled out of thin air, just like the Lancet’s Mehra/Desai/Surgisphere paper, for the same purpose. That purpose is propaganda. It is the responsibility of medical doctors to seek to distinguish between propaganda and fact.

This is not an intellectual exercise. We are talking about a pandemic that has crashed the world economy, caused famines, and governments show no signs that things are going to change any time soon. So if there is a magic bullet or perhaps many (see lab data on repurposed drugs for coronaviruses) -- the bullets need to be used asap, and not withheld to make way for remdesivir (about 3000x more costly and also more dangerous (https://www.drugs.com/sfx/remdesivir-side-effects.html) and poorly tested vaccines that use novel platforms and, if used under Emergency Use Authorizations, will waive manufacturer and government liability.

Pay attention to the pre-Covid literature vs the post-Covid literature on HCQ harms.

In 2007 the Oxford journal Rheumatology
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17202178/ found: "Conclusion: PR interval, QTc interval and heart rate were not different from normal values. The rate of heart conduction disorders was similar to what is expected in the general population, and contrasted with prior results in CQ-treated patients. Our results add further evidence on the safety of HCQ compared with CQ.” [BTW, excessive or prolonged doses can cause damage that will not occur in those treated for Covid, briefly, with standard doses.]

From Expert Opinion on Drug Safety 2011:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21417950/: "Expert opinion: HCQ has been shown by numerous studies over the past 15 years to be efficacious in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus, discoid lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. HCQ does not appear to be associated with any increased risk of congenital defects, spontaneous abortions, fetal death, prematurity or decreased numbers of live births in patients with autoimmune diseases. Therefore, in the author's opinion, HCQ is safe for the treatment of autoimmune diseases during pregnancy.”

But it is too dangerous for patients with Covid? Who is fooling who?

When tested in OUTPATIENTS (so the side effects of the drug are not confused with the clinical damage caused by Covid or other meds being used) the drug is safe, according to the second cardiotoxicity link I provided above:

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101 ... 20155531v2 "Conclusion: Data from three outpatient COVID-19 trials demonstrated that gastrointestinal side effects were common but mild with the use of hydroxychloroquine, while serious side effects were rare. No deaths occurred related to hydroxychloroquine. Randomized clinical trials can safely investigate whether hydroxychloroquine is efficacious for COVID-19.”

Yet today, in Queensland, a doctor who prescribes HCQ for a patient with Covid is subject to 6 months in prison or an A$13,000 fine. https://www.health.qld.gov.au/system-go ... -direction

What a precedent! If doctors don't educate themselves and speak up about what is happening, who else can?

Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Doctors, this is your wheelhouse. Speak now, or forever hold your peace.

Serious concerns with the conduct of the Covid-19 vaccine clinical trials
Did you know…this past week major media outlets reported four new serious concerns about the Covid-19 vaccine trials?
•NY Times 9/22: Two vaccine experts identify a major flaw in the Covid-19 vaccine trials. The trials are focusing on whether the vaccines prevent mild disease, not moderate or severe disease which are the major concerns. (1)
•Washington Post 9/22: A former Harvard Medical School physician and AIDS researcher, Dr. William Hazeltine, agrees with the NY Times article. Further he notes that the design of Pfizer and Moderna vaccine trials is such that they could be considered a success with fewer than 100 people vaccinated. These are not nearly enough numbers to determine long-term efficacy and safety. (2)
•CNN 9/25: The AstraZeneca Covid-19 trial is still paused in the US as more information is becoming available about 2 participants in UK who experienced severe neurological autoimmune diseases during the vaccine trial. US physicians question whether the diseases are unrelated to the vaccine as AstraZeneca claims. (3)
•NBC News 9/24: Perhaps most alarming is the news that Dr. Richard Whitley, the chair of the US Data Safety and Monitoring Board (DSMB) evaluating the vaccine trials in the US, has significant conflicts of interest. In 2019 he received consulting fees from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) which is making a COVID-19 vaccine, and he is on the board of Gilead Sciences which manufactures remdesivir. He also oversees another DSMB for GSK. The identities of the other members of the DSMB are being withheld. According to conflict of interest guidelines, DSMB members or their family members should have no professional, proprietary or financial relationship with companies sponsoring the research. (4)
•In a Pew Research Center poll of over 10,000 Americans conducted September 8-13, those who say they would get a COVID-19 vaccine has dropped sharply with only 21% stating they would “definitely” get the vaccine. (5)

The testing mess, lack of reliable data on Covid-19, and a hypothesis why
Within the first 10 days of January a sequence for the Chinese SARS-CoV-2 virus had been published by Edward Holmes of Australia. (He coauthored the March Nature Medicine paper I have publicly criticized.) Holmes works closely with Chinese scientists who passed this to him, possibly without CCP authorization.

People were able to immediately start devising PCR tests based on this published sequence even without a virus.

After that, as the virus travelled to many countries, scientists around the world started isolating the virus locally. There have been many thousands of isolations from patients from many countries, and scientists have decoded the genome, i.e., sequenced the virus, which has 30,000-34,000 nucleotides, and shown what mutations are occurring when, in different parts of the world. Alina Chan helped create a website that characterizes these strain differences by location.

The virus has been cultured in many countries, as early as January-February, including by CDC:

1. Akst J. Australian Lab Cultures New Coronavirus as Infections Climb. The Scientist. https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opin ... limb-67031.

2. CDC has grown the COVID-19 virus in cell culture, which is necessary for further studies, including for additional genetic characterization. The cell-grown virus was sent to NIH’s BEI ResourcesRepository for use by the broad scientific community.

But the virus cannot be cultured in ordinary small hospital labs, because SARS is a designated biological warfare ("Select") agent with pandemic potential and must (by US law) be cultured only in high containment laboratories. So culture tests are not commercially available, but they are being done under specified conditions.

Testing for the virus is a disaster. There are over 100 available tests within the United States and more overseas. CDC completely messed up its test, which did not work, but it refused to allow anyone else to develop a test during January and February. CDC appears to have known their test was no good, restricting it to under 1000 people in total during those two months. Possibly germane is the fact that CDC's Covid response was managed by Lisa Messonier, MD, who is Rod Rosenstein's sister. (Rosenstein is the former Deputy Attorney General who, according to the NYT, discussed wearing a wire to record Trump and suggested that cabinet members consider using the 25th Amendment against Trump.)

By Feb 29, the FDA said it would allow companies to apply for an emergency use authorization for their tests, but the procedure was so complicated that only 6 entities applied over the first week. So, in the middle of March we still didn’t have tests in the US so the FDA then said anyone who had a test could offer it and subsequently send the FDA information on the test performance.

By late March there was an explosion of tests being offered and nobody had any idea how they compared with each other nor how sensitive nor specific they were, apart from their manufacturers' claims.

After a while, FDA realized that many of these tests were worthless and they took a number of tests made in China off the market but left the others, still about 100 tests.

There are no reliable numbers I know of for how well these tests have performed. Some people have looked at small numbers of tests and tried to get an idea in their local community.

You should be informed, however, that part of the problem is the virus itself. It doesn’t always stimulate the antibodies that labs are looking for, and some people who get Covid do not make those antibodies in sufficient quantity to be measured. There were similar problems with SARS-1 tests. (But SARS-1 had 8K total cases and we have 750 M, so you would have expected some of those issues to be resolved. Plus, I am not current on what is happening in other countries.)

As far as the PCR tests go, it was hoped they would be the gold standard but it has not worked out that way. There are many potential problems with PCR tests. The target nucleotide sequence (the primer) that is chosen may not be totally specific to this virus, and cross react with sequences from other microorganisms or ?

At least six different primers (approximately 20 nucleotide long sequences) have been selected for use by different companies, and we don’t know how they compare with each other. Different machines are being used. Different cycle lengths, i.e., number of doubling cycles, are used in different labs. They have widely varying limits of detection, by 3 plus orders of magnitude. Finally, unless the lab is very clean, it is easily contaminated, which may also provide false positives.

If the sample is not obtained carefully, or if it is obtained too early or too late in the course of the illness, the amount of virus on the swab may not reach the limits of detection of the test.

The FDA has posted a website recently (late September) in which FDA says they have sent out small test kits to dozens of companies and labs that developed tests, to see how the tests/labs perform. Not all of the test kits have been returned, and it appears this was a voluntary exercise:

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/cor ... ative-data

Coupled with all the above confusion is the fact that the media appear to have deliberately tried to give us bad information about most aspects of the illness and of the pattern and severity of illnesses and number of cases. I recommend that nonscientists be aware that we are being played by the media and every piece of information you see may have been put out there with an ulterior motive, mostly to increase fear.

If you look at the suppression of effective treatments, the falsely elevated case and death numbers, and the prolonged lockdowns which make little sense, because this is a disease that can be effectively treated, even without remdesivir and vaccines, and which at this point in time seems to have morbidity similar to influenza, you realize we are being subjected to a wholly different agenda than what is being presented.

We are being made to think this pandemic is much more severe than it really is, and the powers that be are doing their best to prolong the emergency. For example, Tony Fauci finds it a challenge to sufficiently scare the public:
"The wide range of clinical manifestations of the disease ... makes conveying the dangerousness of Covid-19 incredibly challenging," Fauci said in an October 13 interview with STAT.
Our economies are being destroyed and many jobs will never come back. (US 2nd quarter GDP declined 33%, on par with the Great Depression.)

There is a meme that has been used by leaders of multiple countries and the World Economic Forum, and that is “Build back better."

The best current hypothesis is that the World Economic Forum and its ilk are using the pandemic as a means to destroy the current economy and rebuild and finance it to their own specifications.

They are using terms like: preventing climate change, green, save the earth, biodiversity, sustainability, non-racist, equitable, fair-- to sweeten the image of what is to come.

Which seems to be a surveillance state with increased top down control and a reduced standard of living. Green goals may be part of it; after all, the leaders need pristine forests and fields for their own use. Maybe, or maybe not, for our use.

This view is consistent with statements by Peter Daszak, CEO of EcoHealth Alliance, who is associated with WIV, NIAID, DOD and facilitated transfers of bat coronaviruses found around the world to scientific and military labs. Quoted in the WaPo, “Pandemics as a whole are increasing in frequency,” said Peter Daszak, a disease ecologist who is president of EcoHealth Alliance, a public health organization [a charitable way to describe his organization--Nass] that studies emerging diseases. “It’s not a random act of God. It’s caused by what we do to the environment."
Daszac told Slate, "I’ve found that things like land use, change, deforestation, road building, mining, and agricultural intensification are the reasons we push ourselves into wildlife habitat and get infected."
Peter Horby, co-director of the Recovery trial in the UK, which poisoned people with HCQ to prevent its use for Covid, recently tweeted, "this is where we should be headed" regarding a video on bicycle commuting produced by the World Economic Forum. The NYT and other outlets have run similar pieces on how human incursions into nature are destroying nature and producing pandemics. In August, Tony Fauci and David Morens, in CELL, wrote,
"in a human-dominated world, in which our human activities represent aggressive, damaging, and unbalanced interactions with nature, we will increasingly provoke new disease emergences. We remain at risk for the foreseeable future. COVID-19 is among the most vivid wake-up calls in over a century. It should force us to begin to think in earnest and collectively about living in more thoughtful and creative harmony with nature..."
The pandemic and prolonged lockdowns, which are huge overreactions to the actual seriousness of the illness, coupled with suppression of effective treatments, appear to be the means to get us to the "new normal".

My interview discussing the origin of Coronavirus, “gain of function” research, and key people aligned with creating and prolonging the pandemic
Here’s the one hour video:

Ronnie Cummins and Alexis Baden-Mayer of the Organic Consumers Association were wonderful to speak with about Covid-19, its murky origins, and the murky response. Both the Organic Consumers Association and I are trying to get out critical information on all aspects of coronavirus and the pandemic.

I encourage all readers to consider signing one of two petitions calling for a ban on biological warfare (a.k.a. gain of function) research:

1. For doctors, lawyers, scientists and policy experts to sign

The coronavirus’s origins are still a mystery. We need a full investigation/ WaPo Editorial

The tide is turning.  The origin of SARS-CoV-2 remains in question.  And now the WaPo is supporting a full investigation, below. But don't expect much from pending investigations by the WHO or a group that has constituted itself as from the Lancet. The Lancet group's origin investigation is being led by Peter Daszac, PhD, whose NGO, EcoHealth Alliance, funded research at the Wuhan lab, and participated in the research. Not only that, Daszac has been quoted all over as saying that a lab origin is "pure baloney" and a conspiracy theory.
Not only that, but Daszac already has the answer to Covid-19: it is the fault of us humans and our interactions with nature.  It seems he self-selected to lead an investigation to protect his origin narrative (and protect the labs he funds) and he probably funded the Lancet medical journal to lend its name to his investigation.  Many scientists are understandably upset about Daszac investigating himself.

AFTER SO much death and illness, a mystery from the first days of the novel coronavirus has yet to be solved. We still don’t understand its origins or how it became a global killer. The answers lie in China, and quite possibly beyond. The world needs a credible, impartial investigation to better prepare for future pandemics...
David A. Relman, a Stanford University microbiologist, writes in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, “the ‘origin story’ is missing many key details,” including a recent detailed evolutionary history of the virus, identity of its most recent ancestors and “surprisingly, the place, time, and mechanism of transmission of the first human infection...”
“Preventing the next pandemic,” wrote Dr. Relman, “depends on understanding the origins of this one.”

HCQ: The Biggest Blunder Public Health Has Ever Made/Joel Hirschorn, Op-Ed News

Thanks to Joel Hirschorn at OpEd News for this quick, clear summary of the data on hydroxychloroquine:

The attack on the current pandemic can pursue four possible approaches. But because of the incredible power of one man, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the federal government is using only three of them: contagion control (curbing virus spreading through masks, social distancing, and lockdowns), hospital treatments and vaccines. What is missing?
It is early home/outpatient treatment as soon as a person gets COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test result. Early means within the first few days. A lot of evidence shows that 70 to 80 percent of covid deaths could have been prevented and still can for those still dying every day. That means for the over 240,000 deaths already in the US probably over 180,000 could have been prevented.
Do we have an effective home/outpatient treatment? Yes. And it has been proven effective on thousands of Americans because of a relatively small number of physicians willing to go against what the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration have done. NIH has specifically said there is no approved home/outpatient treatment despite all the evidence that several doctors have created and used protocols that really work to keep people safe, healthy and out of hospital. And the FDA has explicitly made it very difficult to get and use a key medicine used in most of the proven protocols, namely hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).
One immediate rational question is: Why would the constantly esteemed Fauci intentionally ignore home/outpatient treatment when over 240,000 Americans have already died from covid and more every day? Why does Fauci favor letting covid victims wait until they get so sick they must be hospitalized. And why is this happening despite all the attempts at contagion control not working effectively, and infringing on personal freedoms and harming the economy?
One answer is that Fauci has always had a very close relationship with drug companies. Many billions of dollars for hospital medicines and vaccines are the logical answer. All the home/outpatient treatments use cheap generic medicines and vitamin supplements. Always follow the money.
How can you learn the facts about the home/outpatient treatments? There are three very good websites offering information from doctors.

First, the best and most useful one is by Americas Front Line Doctors. You can find detailed information on what the protocols consist of and on what states have done to block use of HCQ. Even more useful is that you can find a doctor in your state that can help you get what you need for using a protocol. There is also a White Paper by Dr. Simone Gold who some time ago concluded: "What we do know is that 70,000-100,000 excess American lives have been lost due to lack of access to HCQ."
Second, is the website by the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons. Here you can find the excellent "A Guide to Home-Based COVID Treatment" embraces early use of a HCQ cocktail. It makes this key point: "Zinc is critical. It helps block the virus from multiplying. Hydroxychloroquine is the carrier taking zinc INTO the cells to do its job."
Third, is https://covexit.com/ where you can access a number of presentations by the leading doctors using and promoting early home/outpatient treatment for covid.
But you may still be skeptical. Do these protocols using HCQ really work? There is a mountain of evidence. Here is just a small sampling.
In those countries with wide early use of HCQ the death rate is 71 percent lower than in those nations, like the US, where its use has been limited by government. Some 600,000 people have been saved worldwide. The data imply a saving of way over 150,000 US lives, a figure that will increase as the number of deaths, sadly, keeps increasing without using home/outpatient use of HCQ.
Recently Dr. Harvey Risch said: "Many or most of the 220,000 deaths in the United States to date could have been prevented by widespread HCQ use that the FDA blocked. It is the FDA that is responsible for these deaths, not the president." But Fauci is the power behind the throne, dictating FDA actions.
Frontline doctor Brian Tyson said that he has cured over 1,900 patients, and has said that between 75 and 80 percent of the over 200,000 deaths thus far could have been prevented by using HCQ!
Dr. Zev Zelenko a pioneer in using a HCQ cocktail, including zinc, that cut hospitalizations by 84 percent, started a petition in October, naming Fauci and other government officials who blocked HCQ use in March, noting: "Over 160,000 people were hospitalized and died unnecessarily. Let's make life saving treatment available and end the pandemic. Let's bring these criminals to justice."
For early use of HCQ, 171 studies have shown a median 64 percent reduction in negative virus impacts, hospitalizations or deaths. Early treatment studies show 100 percent effectiveness.

Welcome to the year 2030. Welcome to my city - or should I say, "our city." I don't own anything. I don't own a car. I don't own a house. I don't own any appliances or any clothes.
It might seem odd to you, but it makes perfect sense for us in this city. Everything you considered a product, has now become a service. We have access to transportation, accommodation, food and all the things we need in our daily lives. One by one all these things became free, so it ended up not making sense for us to own much.
First communication became digitized and free to everyone...

Once in a while I get annoyed about the fact that I have no real privacy. Nowhere I can go and not be registered. I know that, somewhere, everything I do, think and dream of is recorded. I just hope that nobody will use it against me...

How to Soften Up the Public for the Covid-19 Vaccines--Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security Brochure

https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org ... nation.pdf
An interesting cast of characters signed off on these guidelines for convincing the public to accept entirely new, questionable vaccines. The group includes Drs. Greg Poland, who led the fight to impose universal flu vaccine recommendations (and many state mandates) and Luciana Borio, a physician, fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and Vice President at In-Q-Tel, the CIA's "venture capital" firm.
Of course, the group's first admonishment is to give people like themselves money to study the most effective forms of manipulation.
But, until then, they still offer lots of good ideas for how to manipulate the public to be vaccinated.  They know it won't be easy.  I have excerpted a variety of their "gems" below:

Conceived as a biotechnology and logistics challenge, COVID-19 vaccination is equally complex in terms of human factors. “If we build it, they will come” is a naïve presupposition about humans and vaccines. In 2010, for instance, many Americans rejected the H1N1 influenza pandemic vaccine because of perceived safety concerns—despite the fact that the vaccine involved only a strain change (ie, it was not a new technology) and the vaccine had been fully tested before release. (Fully? It missed the eventual 1300 + narcolepsy cases--Nass).
In contrast to the H1N1 pandemic flu vaccine, SARS-CoV-2 vaccines will be novel products, and when they are initially offered to the public, safety data may be limited to tens of thousands of vaccinated individuals, rather than larger numbers in which more rare adverse effects could be detected. In addition, the H1N1 vaccine amplified health disparities as well as feelings of racial bias. In Los Angeles, for example, distrust in the government resulting from prior experimentation on Black men and women led Black faith-based leaders, radio personalities, and other community leaders to advise local Black community members to avoid vaccination...
There is a risk that projections about vaccine development are overly optimistic and may set up unrealistic public expectations and mistrust around vaccine safety and availability...
Emphasis on the unprecedented speed with which vaccines are being developed has inadvertently prompted safety concerns...
Underestimation of COVID-19’s risk, fostered by an inconsistent government response, dampens public willingness to implement protective measures...
Temper expectations of a vaccine as a “quick fix...”
Early on, seek the counsel and input of communities who have historic reluctance toward novel vaccines and understandable fears of being “experimented on...”
In advance of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine rollout, federal health agencies should develop a coordinated national strategy to promote vaccination, employing human-centered design to develop interventions that help a broad network of champions communicate effectively with the public about risks, benefits, allocation and targeting, and availability...
The CDC, with the support of Congress, should fund state and local health departments, via the Public Health Emergency Preparedness grants, to form partnerships with grassroots-level organizations and stakeholders to promote vaccination...
OWS, HHS, CDC, and state and local health officials should develop operational systems that involve nontraditional civilian partners and instill public confidence that vaccine distribution is evenhanded. Involving civil rights groups and health advocacy organizations, including the NAACP, the National Urban League, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Disability Rights Network, the American Association of Retired Persons, the National Immigration Project, Unidos, Partnership with Native Americans, the Rural Community Assistance Partnership, the National Rural Health Association, Doctors Without Borders, and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, can bolster the equitable delivery of vaccines and instill public trust in the vaccination process...  (This is probably a list of organizations that CDC has already bought off, so pay attention to pronouncements from these organizations--Nass.)
Utilize nontraditional vaccination sites like schools, pharmacies, workplaces, grocery stores, health departments, mass vaccination clinics, faith centers, barber shops, senior centers, dental offices, home visits, and others... (They have already figured out that family physicians are likely to warn their patients about rapidly rolled out, novel vaccines with inadequate safety testing--so the plan is to bypass physicians as much as possible during the vaccine rollout--Nass.)
Identifying a network of trusted spokespeople will be essential for an effective communication campaign around future COVID-19 vaccines. To motivate people to take protective actions like vaccination requires that they hear a salient and specific message repeatedly, delivered by multiple trusted messengers and via diverse media channels. Effective public health and safety communication involves a repetitive streaming of personally compelling information...
