Well, except for that time a gorgeous young woman gave me lap dance, here's what the real Saloon is like.

Tuesday night foosball.

I think I'm in the front room arguing with Jerry, I'm pretty sure that's my laugh at the end there.

It's kind of boring actually, we even take family photos.

Ah, 2007. My cuter days are behind me.

...

I'll have a nice cuppa if I may please.

I feel bad now. That silly old Wintler2 has got the even sillier and quite possibly older me arguing with him/her/it again.

And I have so many more important things to do. Like sit here and sip my tea. I do hope all the riginters are having a good 2012.

I have spent much time recently writing and even some drawing, with crayons. Simple illustrations.

Mostly it comprises a sort of Voynich manuscript in much need of editing. I think. May Heaven help me with that one.

It's part commentary on the Tao te Ching.

And something of a treatise on the elements.

Not to mention a meditation on the deeper nature of reality.

I just hope I get something completed one day, in some form communicable to others. Maybe. But there's always so much laundry and washing up to be done! Not to mention tidying and dusting and cleaning and shopping and cooking and homework and so on and on. And I waste so much time reading and posting here too! I feel guilty about that. I gotta feel guilty about everything. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Sheesh. Who'd be me?

Guilt is like that fruitcake nobody wanted — and certainly didn't need — which has been passed around from one person to another for the past fifteen years: the gift that keeps on giving.

A bottle of Petrus Pomerol Merlot please, vintage 1998 — for anyone here who'd like a glass.

I'll join you. Drinking here can't hurt my wimpy liver, and it's nice to have company.

Has anyone seen that rather handsome fellow with the curly mustache? He used to come around here now and then, play love songs on the jukebox. I wouldn't mind a dance.

I can't say I'm certain if I've seen the person you're looking for, but I've been sitting here in the corner nursing a manhattan, and seeing as how I seem to be down to the last cherry and am currently in possession of no lack of shoe leather, well, perhaps I can help you with that.

Can I get a cup of coffee in here please? Or espresso? Or something with caffeine in it? Anything?

'Cause I really need that right now.

You're asking for coffee, in Seattle? :partyhat

Happy Monday! I am tired and slow starting today as well, but it's due to having had a fun weekend. I hope it was the same for you.

I've been working toward a deadline. The work is fun, but it means long hours, and I'm pooped.

Thanks. I bet Seattle Coffee Works makes a damn fine cup of coffee. You can probably even get a nice piece of cherry pie.
