Really? Oh, you lucky luck-haver. Though I pictured you with long hair, actually. I just had no particular feeling about its color, which I guess to me means: default brunette. I don't think I really have any very fully realized mental images of posters here, unless I've seen their pictures. But for the posters I feel like I've hung out with, I definitely do "see"...I'm not really sure how to put it. It's sort of like the same kind of sense-memory you might have of someone you knew well but hadn't seen in many years in real life. Does that make sense to anbody, or is it just me? But I'm pretty sure it can't be just me. So you guys know what I mean: It's not so much a static picture as it is an impression of light, color, and movement that feels like the physical qualities and attributes of other people feel. In memory, and to a degree when you're with them, too. It's less like seeing/hearing/smelling/etcetera, and more like knowing or maybe experiencing someone. So it tends to be stuff that's more "the way lbo's eyes look when he's serious" than it is the equivalent of a full mental portrait-photograph of lbo's face.

Anyway. I picture-not'd you with long hair. I also think of you as having a particular kind of complexion that I don't really know how to describe, but which I myself can't imagine having and have always privately regarded as of a sign of miraculous otherworldliness. Although it's not actually super-super-uncommon in real life. I just must have formed an indelible opinion of it before conscious memory or something like that. Because -- again, without really thinking about it -- it always seems like storybook skin to me. Also, you have pretty wrists.

And....I was about to ask you not to tell me if I was wrong. But actually, I guess that you can try. I mean, if you want to. And I promise that I'll try to understand what the hell you're talking about. However, I expect that to be difficult if not impossible. Because, after all, I know perfectly well what you look like in my mind.

LOL

I have very pale skin, pink hued, not ivory, very Celtic, with freckles (even at my age!). Nothing fantastic at all, really, very common skin. So you're right about that. It's a "redhead" complexion. And my wrists (and hands!) are long and slender (but not skinny)! LOL How did you know that?

I don't "see" people, per se. I get senses of people as well, based on personality. So I don't necessarily envision others, so much as I "feel" them. I'm strongly empathic, so I do that in real life as well, and couldn't tell you what most people look like, only what they feel like! I really don't pay that much attention! But I have "seen" people who utterly terrify me, and by looking at them you would think they were just your normal, everyday folks. I haven't had a sense of anyone here such as that, yet. :)

And you always make sense to me c2w!

I imagine....

Jeff is like one of the team that used to help Mulder and Sculley... who frets about jellyfish

JackRiddler is a Raymond Massey look alike who speaks in perfectly precise punctuated paragraphs.

Alice looks like Cher and probably does a mean karaoke of "Turn back time"

8bit I always think in terms of his fantastic cartoons

American Dream is Woody Allen with a Moleskine notebook of cross indexed ongoing thoughts, a professor type.

Joe Hillhoist a chilled out much Greener version of Crocodile Dundee leading courses in a permaculture forest

Project Willow I imagine organising body painting and surrounded by people flinging themsleves at canvasses while covered in paint

Nordic I imagine as a a 6ft 6 lumberjack with a huge booming voice:)

c2w? for me would be like Jennifer Jason-Leigh in The Hudsucker Proxy, rattling off ideas like a machine gun, taking no prisoners, funny beautiful and deadly in a kind sort of way :)

Heh. I'm now picturing lbo as sort of a slender fella, olive complexion with sort of a James Dean look to him ('cause I think there is mention of him having a motorbike), but more 'meterosexual'. Not to the point of visiting spas & getting facials & manicures all the time, though.

Alice I still picture with killer brown eyes, but I understand now her hair is not that dark.

I imagine Maddy, now with the long blonde hair but with a sort of Clair Danes look. At least the soft doe eyes!

And c2w looks kinda like Sigourney Weaver. I couldn't find the clip, but there's a part in Aliens where she gets pissed off at some bureaucrats & gives 'em shit. That's what she reminds me of :) I know, total nerd, I love my Alien collection & Sigourney....

I have the seeing thing too, c2w. It's not actually a visual picture but rather like an energy impression which kind of includes a blurry visual.
Unfortunately there is a 'thought thing' that comes along with it whether in RL or virtual.....it is a little unnerving.

Here I is on the Piazza Navonna, taken, ahem .......well, let's just say, not current.

I'm back and forth on c2w for some reason. Sometimes I think dark and sultry with long dark hair, and then I think no, maybe thin with short hair, NY - hipster shopping on the upper west side.

Maddy, I pictured as described but with red in her hair.

I have no idea what c2w looks like, and I couldn't care less. She's gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

Well, Alice, of course she's gorgeous. I doubt anyone would deny that.

I loved her at first read. :)

Doesn't mean people don't sometimes succumb to visualizing once in a while. It just happens. You know, human nature. :)

Very lovely, and not far from what I pictured!

Yeah, I guess my handle is sort of a description ..... It's funny, I was just working with a blond, blue-eyed guy who is 21 years younger than I am, but looks even younger, and some people thought he's my son.

You guys, I had the worst, worst, worst*** day. So bad that when I was walking home, around 11 p.m., one of my homeless crack addict friends whom I'd just passed with a not-atypical-for-me-and-him-friendly-hello-without-stopping called me back by my name to ask me if I was all right. Then I stomped around the house doing around the house things and being too gloomy even for online company for couple of hours. Which I see was an enormous error, since now I'm fucking IN LOVE WITH MYSELF AND FEEL GREAT! THANK YOU!

I have dark hair, which is now long, although for years and years I wore it in a chic jaw-length bob that took what appear to me in retrospect to be such ludicrously excessive expenditures of both girlie power and money to maintain that I don't know what I could possibly have been thinking. I must have been out of my mind. No, I mean besides that way. And I don't know how else to describe myself, really. I just look like me to me. I'm evidently non-specifically mutably exotic looking enough that taxi drivers from many different countries in Central Asia, West Asia, North Africa and South America routinely ask me whether I'm from [taxi-driver's land of origin here]. Although I have sometimes gotten the impression that was more in the way of being an opening line than it was a sincere and honest question, I gotta admit.

Maddy, that's exactly what I meant. You have impossible skin, in the "impossible dream" sense of the word "impossible." Also, Alaya, I saw you sitting exactly like that, except as you would be if facing the camera. I started to describe it but couldn't get any farther than: I have a feeling about the way you move from the waist. Which just sounded demented. Not to mention much fucking creepier and more stalkerish than the mental-not-picture I actually have of you and was therefore attempting to articulate. So I just gave up. Dang. I coulda been a contender, and now I'm just going to look like a fucking front-runner. I hate when that happens.

:lovehearts: :lovehearts: :lovehearts: to you all. You lifted me from low, low, low*** to way up high. And the view from up here is just incomparably better. Let's drink champagne.

ON EDIT: ***i'm sorry, willow. i got carried away and forgot.
